- My company recently acquired an 1880s building located in downtown Anderson, SC. The basement, which mostly consists of dirt floors, became an exciting site for our Dig That Beep crew to explore with our metal detectors. During our exploration, we unearthed a variety of fascinating items, including some rare old coins buried in the basement! We're thrilled to share our discoveries with you in this video and encourage you to subscribe to our channel for more updates!

Great video, guys, and some nice finds. When I first got a metal detector, I went to my parents' house to detect their yard. After thats I remember the floor in the basement was half dirt. I thought I would try it and found a small jar that had 3 mecr. and 4 buffalo, 7 Indians head pennies, and 10 wheaties still keep them all in the same jar on my shelf. Again, guys, great, job. Keep on digging that beep.
How cool that was. I dug a Barber dime and a Mercury head dime in the same hole.
But to have a jar with all of the Coins on your shelf.... PRICELESS 😂
@russellponder940 Thanks, it's still one of my best find. Great hunt for you, too. Hope you are still going after and digging that beep.
@@ronyoung3699 I'm 66 now, and have 4 crushed Lumbar disc. I don't hunt anymore but I sure enjoy watching. God bless you
I walked those streets non stop for five years when we lived there 60 years ago. Memories!
Cool video. We got to hunt a late 1880s basement once. We found a 1853 Seated quarter, three ringer and a 1860s seated dime. When we got home we looked that site up on historical maps and before the building was built, that location was a wagon yard. That's probably why we found what we did.
Very cool!
Not your everyday hunt. Not your everyday finds! I liked it.
You Gent's found some good finds.... plus you beat the heat. Great job guys. God bless you all
love the way yall think outa the box.awesome.
This is a first for RUclips. Underground metal detecting. Good video, guys!
Screw-on lids were introduced in the mid 1800's, so never assume they aren't old. Some of the the first screw-on lids were for Mason jars. 😊
There is still likely a huge number of in building caches yet to be found. Now if you’re talking caches in old farm fields, backyards, woods, and river banks the number is in my opinion unimaginable! Great video.
@@legacyXplore I'm researching which gold camps had large plagues or other high death tolls ( I know a bit morbid ) but no one trusted anyone back then so when they went to work they either had it all with them or it was hidden for the ones that didn't make it....well that's still going to be there .....im thinking the best chance for actually finding treasure
@@raymondkenney4997 that is a really good idea. Really interesting. I have 5 criteria that I use to grade a potential cache lead. And I didn’t just guess I put time in. I looked at over 500 instances where a cache was document to be found. I started to see some major overlapping elements. Why the cache is still there is of course a big one. And sudden death is overwhelmingly the reason why something goes unrecovered. Second being mental illness. Two others are if I Google the details and it pops up online in any form it doesn’t qualify for this type of A+ cache lead. Completely lost to history is really a sign you’re on to something. That and finally what year the story is originating from. Pre metal detectors is key. Good luck! Keep us posted.
Damn!Did Mike say, "You call that a light?This is a light!"😂😂😂
I had some incredible luck in basements. Found a Seated 1/2 dollar, Trime Love token, silvers, ihp's, wheats, tokens, and so much more. What I usually do is sift the dirt with a sifter and use a smaller coil on my detector.
This was a really awesome episode, so completely unusual and the finds were so cool. Really enjoyed this one fellows , way to go 👍
I bet that was fun. Never know what could have fallen through the floor boards or was dropped down there over the years. Cool hunt, yall.
Great stuff! There are some cool old buildings in my hometown I’d love to get in the basements of and look around
Love watching the channel!
You can use the patent issue date in order to determine what the item was. Google has that information. As well as the U.S. patent office.
Nice, I'm only like 30ish minutes from Anderson, just past the state line in good Ole GA
Definitely an interesting place to dig for treasure!!!!
Those are some great finds
Yes, Wednesday vid drop
Something different, nice finds Guys 👊 That one piece with the small hole could be the top of a old keg tapper.
That was a very cool video! Maybe take a sifter with you next time. That large oil lamp part was probably that size to help shed extra light in that building back before the "Electric City" got it's name. That big glass part Mike found with the odd part inside may have been an old fire extinguisher filled with water that would durst when it got too hot. That is only a guess on my part, but I know they used things like that back in the 1800s into the 1900s. Fun Video!
Fun hunt. Nice seeing parts of the downtown area which looks cool. All the best.
Cool video!
Awesome finds! Thanks for sharing
That glass piece looks like something to put ring on
King Tuts tomb,is what I thought about when you started going back into history beneath this building.
The cone-shaped metal object that you found, looks like a plumb bob?
Thought the dime was going to be a barber. When Mike wears that barber shirt he always finds one.
This was a fun change from the norm I hope you guys go back for more and congrats on the seated!
Wow that would have been so cool to do that basement..nice job on the finds.
Loved watching this video. A little bit of the mysterious going on there. Such awesome finds. ❤
Hey,, it's anytown, USA,,LMAO
ours had an old 20's pool hall,,, pretty cool stuff!
That was awesome 👌 😊
Sifter would be an awesome idea
Awesome finds guys 👍🤘
Great video hey didn't catch that distillery's name could you reply with the name? 🎉
South Carolina Dispensary Bottle
It's the top to an oil lantern thays what we find here at cellar holes br0tha nice find
Kind of an Indiana jones type hunt. love checking out old buildings. Thanks guys.
Keep them coming great video
💥💥💥💥Basement? I prefer to hunt in and around basements, although I have to admit, I've never hunted a basement that still had a building on top of it. I can't help but think how funny it would have been if Mike called you over for a signal, you shine your light, and he’s on that toy excavator. Also, this was a perfect opportunity for a metal-detecting-scare-prank that surely would have gone viral. Could have made a short of it and got a million page views. Nice finds! Great work!
It hurt watching him scratch that seated liberty with that brush! 😣 😂
I’ve heard estimates that there is more coin money in the ground than there is in circulation.
Wowww! This video was personally my favorite one of yalls! Great content! Definitely too short!
Just outta curiosity, did yall hear or see anything strange down there? I mean, that IS a very old building with a lot of history!...
Great Video, it's probably already been said if it had ice box refrigeration, look for the ice box drain grates area.
I found a chineese coin on a beach the chineese camped at during a gold strike in 1900 1901 and it turned out to be from 1650's
Hello John,Mike and philip
Hello Gregory
Come on Phillip. Share the protection with your boys!
😂😂😂
Cool! That place is definitely haunted! 😂
Hall of famer Boston red sox slugger Jim Rice was born in Anderson S C
13:40 I think that is the hole that a string goes thru so you can pull down on the light. It's part of a light fixture cord hole... OR top of a lamp to hold down a shade
Keep diggin' them beeps and free your souls, again I got lost in the video
Anderson..isnt that where Enos Pepper had his fascinating curio shop..in fact in a building much like this one
Great Dig. Anyone on the DTB team running a 800, if so what settings for inside?
Had an old friend, who passed away many years ago, who was from. Anderson. He always refered to it as "the last outpost of the Confederate Coast Guard". I guess with the fall of Ft. Anderson, there was some truth to that.
13:00 I think that is a turkey breast plate bone
That piece of glass Philip found is to a S.C. Dispensary flask with Palmetto Tree. That would have been worth a little chunk of change ( around $100 ).
Actually worth a little more, like $300 - 400.
Phillip has to stop screwing around, and show y’all the finds. 😎 I remember watching a video probably two years ago, where they detected I think an old Plantation home. At the end someone was going to go under the house. As soon as he entered his flashlight went out. He went to the truck to change out the batteries. Tested it and it was good, went back through the opening again, and light went out again and wouldn’t come back on. He took that as an omen and closed the little door.
It most likely a seated dime
Sweet hunt, something different. I'll bet there is plenty more cool stuff hiding down there. Seated dime is fantastic. Stay dirty 👍
I don't know if I heard you correctly, but a $03 nickel is not the size of a nickel. I could have misheard you though.
Your Lime Cola bottle sells for $250. on eBay.
We did notice that, but if you look close in the video you can see two cracks and one of them on the bottom corner. Bottle broke there shortly after :(
Smaller coils
1920-1930 bottle
COME ON PHILLIP! GEESH LMAO
😂😂😂
Cool hunt fellas! Definitely something different. Mike you might want to fix your pants crotch (16:20}. Haha!
Probably not buried. More than likely dropped
Technically, it was under dirt so the items were buried over time even if not buy an actual person. This holds true to for about 99.9% of the stuff we find metal detecting. Thanks for watching!
You guys buy a building?
The company I work at did, not Dig That Beep!
Sad you are taking a wire brush to old coins 😢
As you dudes are Growing........ Seriously.... Step up to a new INTRO for your Vidz... Its not a dis... Just sayin John... Where always on board bro......
Great video, very entertaining, however if you plan on going back you might consider masks cause of the threat of asbestos!
why did you guys metal detect a basement in a old building and when are you metal detecting old parks and old houses again.
Turkey breast bone 😂
i was waiting for you to uncover a skull with gold teeth, scream and run into each other as you all tried to find your way out. Sorry, watched a lot of three stooges as a kid (and adult)
