I won a tournament over the weekend because of this rig! 6.25lb kicker. I’ve been preaching about leaving the Texas rig behind. That ozark with a 10in worm is just deadly!!
Nice! Glad it's working for you!
All your vids teaching basic electronics on clear view and side imaging helped me big time. Thanks
Great to hear!
Great video always my pleasure watching you do simple basic fishing 101 an catch fish. Good luck can’t wait till next video.
Love the idea of using the Ozark Rig in cover and with big worms. Thanks for all you do, Jonny!
I enjoyed seeing you map and showing your rig up for us.
Can't wait for New Years to drive around collecting Christmas trees!
Hey Johnny thanks for all you do. Are you ever gonna bring back the podcast?
Thanks so much for sharing awesome video I've learned a lot from your Channel keep up the great work and keep up the great products coming out love them I have bought several of them thanks once again for sharing
Thanks for the support!
@@FishtheMoment can't thank you enough for sharing and Ben and doing what you do truly do appreciate your Channel and everything you stand for
Good stuff. Man I can't even find a fish bigger than my bait. But I will keep working at it. Got to use my 3/8 Oz 5 on Ozark rig for the first time yesterday. And I like it a lot. I'm glad you made a heavier size
Really great video
I'm going to have to make that hour drive to that lake soon. Lol
They were biting the squarebill good on that lake yesterday. Just like Deep Dive told me. 😊
YES to the OZARK RIG!!!!!
Love it!
Used the ozark rig all spring on a Z craw and smashed them, I would love to see a heavy duty version as I had a few hooks bent!
I’m looking forward to using the Ozark rig on my fishing trip.
Question on the finesse TUSH.
How do you rig a Keitech 2.8 on the 1/8 TUSH without bursting the body of the bait? I can rig a 3.3 with no problem.
Any guidance will be appreciated.
I assure you that I have retired all my swim bait tackle except under spins thanks to Core Tackle inventions.
I know you did this in the past, but could you please do a video on how to get your electronics to be set up to graph bottom and fish like your locator displays?
@FishtheMoment which color selection are you using for side imaging and down, seems to be pretty decent at highlighting the fish and they have a bunch to choose from these days and wasn't sure which one that was, thanks. Another good video!
there's only like 20 garmin default colors, so just scroll through the different ones until you get the right one
For my garmin, I use Floodlight
@@FishtheMoment Thanks!
Ozark rig is great with no current. I’d like to see a 5/16oz
Jonny, great electronics lesson as usual! Wow! Do you still do on the water lessons? It would be worth so much if you could tune in my Helix electronics like this!
Not any more, but you can reach out to The Fishing Coach on RUclips. He does on the water lessons and is great with his electronics. He's been my fishing partner for 15+ years.
@@FishtheMoment Thanks !
@@FishtheMoment I wish you would just make a quick overview of the settings your using on your Garmin units..
@@FishtheMoment appreciate it my man!
I just wish I could see my side imaging as good as I do on my PC monitor lol.
I’m having trouble rigging plastics to the Ozark rig without tearing up plastic…seems like need to use Elaz-tec
Try rigging the bait like in this video: ruclips.net/video/meDQZX_MCmI/видео.html
Has anyone tried a swimbait on the ozark rig
What is the advantage of the Ozark rig vs. a shaky head?
A shaky head is weighted in the head, making it fall straight down. The Ozark Rig is weighted along the body of the bait, making it glide forward as it falls. Also, on a worm, the Ozark Rig will cause the bait to rock and shimmy on the fall, giving it extra action.
Are you swimming it or dragging it..?
One question, you said an Ozark rig keeps you from having to peg the slip weight. I thought modern conventional wisdom was to leave the weight loose unless you are trying to punch through dense cover. BTW, thanks for the helpful videos, I am new to fishing and trying to absorb as much information as possible.
I like to peg my wight when fishing brush piles because the weight can get hung around branches and snag more often if it's not pegged. Even with a pegged weight, you will get hung up more with a standard texas rig than the Ozark Rig.
Are you still doing lake evaluations for people?
I just added new structure breakdowns on my website. I only have a few done, but will be adding more every week: fishthemoment.com/structure-breakdowns
@@FishtheMomentI mean where we can submit our lake and you break it down. I remember you did it like 5 or 6 years ago if you subscribed to one of your tiers.
Wish you'd have a lesson or two with the spotlight off. I miss those days.
I am genuinely curious, how would removing Livescope from the videos make them more informative or easier for you to replicate on your lake without Livescope? I showed one example where I lined up on a brushpile with my mapping and didn't use livescope. I also graphed every brushpile first in the video with side imaging and showed the fish in the pile.
In my opinion, my videos show anglers how to find fish without livescope, only traditional sonar, and I only add livescope in to give a additional information when I am fishing the area rather than just showing my back and setting the hook.
Might as well use a Berkeley rod with a nightcrawlers and save money.
Can't use bait in a tournament. He is fishing like it's a tournament scenario
Johnny I love this rig but I think the shank between the eyelet an bend of hook needs to be lil longer. It's hard to push that eye thru plastic tie your line wout messing up the plastic an getting it to stay esp in creature baits
Thanks for the input! We're working on a V2 with a wider hook gap and stronger hook. It will have a little longer eye as well, so it may work better for you. Still testing it though so it will be a while before it comes out.
I haven't had an issue w strength of hook yet just getting eye in plastic then trying to tie line to it
Man, I want to love that rig, but what happened to your bait on the big fish is exactly what happens every single time and completely ruins the bait after one fish.
