    matt , get a large sewing needle mount it into a dowel with super glue . then grind away the lower half of the eye so your left with a small hook . Push that through the bait , hook your line and pull it through and then tie

    Matt, I would think that for rigging the thicker weights (especially the tube), when you push the hook point through the nose of the bait, double over your line and loop it over the hook Use the barb of the hook to pull the line back through the bait. That would leave the line through the bait and give you easier access to tie to the hook eye.

    Core tackle is really stepping it up with these new rigs. Still trying to master rigging the hover rig without tearing up my bait and getting it straight but when I do it is fire. Clicked thru the link but they are out of the 3/0 size for now. I'll check back later to see if they restock.
    Thanks for the tip.

    I’ve. Seen video of the action of a. Strike kings. Rage tail worm. Has a shimmering glide. Haven’t fished yet. But can’t wait to try it.

    Matt, I think it’s so cool 😎 that you’re showing the Ozark rig set up, and I have just about every configuration available from Core Tackle and I love the gliding presentation…… I’m thinking everyone in the house has a few Core Tackle products 😜😜 or maybe you all have been playing “bait poker” and Stephan has lost some of his “chips” ( Ozark rigs)😂😂 I use the Yamamoto baits as well , thanks for the rigging tips🙏💯🍀🎣🍀

    Matt, I also want to say you handled that situation with Wheeler like a complete classy dude. I am a fan of Wheeler, but I think he was in the wrong in that one. I’m sure there is a ton that goes into that situation that the public is not aware of, but man you are a class act! My son was a Bassmaster All American last year and is fishing in college. We talk constantly about how tournament fishing just seems to be drama all the time. Loved that I can show him that clip and he can see how you handled that situation. Total class move. Now, I would hope you and Wheeler have had a “PROFESSIONAL” conversation off the water. I’m sure you let him know you were angry and won’t be intimidated at any time, but man what a great example you set for these young guys coming up and aspiring to be professionals. Seriously, very classy way to handle that situation! I’m a real fan.

      Thank you sir! I appreciate that, and I try to think of those things before any actions on camera! We spoke and had our words and left it on the water, as competitors should

      Brian, I was disappointed in Wheeler. Then I read all of the MLF rules and found out there are no rules as to the distance they can be to another MLF competitor. The only time such an act becomes a problem, if the two anglers, tangle lines or have a verbal confrontation. So....... let's take it a step further. Anglers such as Wheeler that took advantage of there being no rules when it comes to blocking. As a spectator on the water. there are also no rules to keep me from rolling in on a spot of an MLF angler that is not one of my top anglers that I follow and blocking that angler so that they don't catch fish,, thus giving my favorite angler a better chance. All that being said, we as spectators now can play a part in the outcome of a tournament. Before such a tactic would be frond upon. However, there is no rules against it as there were no rules keeping wheeler from blocking Matt. You can bet your bass boat, if Im ever on a lake wheeler is fishing and he is leading against another angler that I want to see win, Ill defiantly block a hole wheeler is fishing,

    Nice. I always wonder how’d they put on the weighted hooks. I’m going to use this technique over putting a nail weight.

    hey Matt! great plug for Stefan on this too! lol😂 Actually I saw where Jonnie actually did vid yesterday using it on big worm. so many applications for sure! And yes, I’d definitely go with option 2 because your already retie for a diff bait anyway, plus won’t rip plastic as much. 👍

    • @MattBeckerFishing
      @MattBeckerFishing  6 месяцев назад +1

      I saw that! I haven’t tried it on the big worm yet!

    I think they should change the weight from a lead to a tungsten. Meaning that wide lead weight can be thinner with a thinner tungsten weight and not tear up the baits so much.

    • @MattBeckerFishing
      @MattBeckerFishing  16 дней назад

      I would love to see that! Unfortunately, tungsten isn’t very friendly for melting to pour
