I make chicken bone broth for my dogs that I use when I make homemade dog food. I use either a whole chicken or chicken thighs in the instant pot and then freeze it to use in the recipes. I love my instant pot for making dog food!
That is wonderful to hear! Thank you! I am not sure I will ever get my slow cooker out again after learning how to make this in the Instant Pot. Now if we could just figure out how to dehydrate liver in there.... 🤔
Hi, loved your easy bone broth method. I am new to instant pot and not real sure about releasing the steamer. The few times I have used the pressure cooker, I take a wooden spoon and push down on that silver button. I am sure it's really not that difficult but just haven't figured out the way to release and when. Again thank you so much for your video. Do I cook the chicken first and when it's done, remove the chicken strip the meat, then put the bones back in to make the broth? Am getting ready to make chicken bone broth with a whole chicken.
No, you do NOT press the metal button - that button is an indicator to let you know when the pressure has been released and it's safe to ooen the pot - which is when the button drops on its own. Theblack knob to the left of that button is what you use. I recommend you just search RUclips for a video on how to use the InstantPot.
What setting for the instapot? I chose soup setting but what about 1) pressure? Should it be on low or hight? 2) what is the less, normally, more underneath the pressure section and what should we have it at? Thank you in advance!
Great question! Yes, those were all leftovers from food we had cooked previously. I keep a bag in my freezer for leftover bones and when that bag fills up, it's time to make some bone broth! You can also use raw bones if you want. It doesn't really matter.
Hi! I made this broth step by step and mine has so much more fat on top and it didn't get gelly like yours! It is just straight liquid! Did I do something wrong? Is this still safe to feed my dog?
Too much water not enough vinegar n possibly not enough bones also your not supposed to use tap water, get a mason jar let it cool put it n fridge upside down it will separate the FAT FOR U
Oh boy, that's a good question. Based on what I could find, it looks like you can do this. Instead of using the soup button for 3 hours, you will cook on high pressure for 90-120 min. Just make sure you don't overfill your pot - keep the bones and water line below the max fill line. Let me know if you try this and how it turns out!
Absolutely!! If you watch my other video using the slow cooker method (ruclips.net/video/svQCwQi7WSk/видео.html), I show how I use silicone molds and make treats out of the bone broth. It's my boys' favorite snack!!
I'm not sure why you would do that unless your dog has a health condition that you have to be careful about the fat. Most dogs can use more fat since they are eating a baked dry kibble. Either way, I've never removed the fat from the top of bone broth, even if I'm eating it. But if you want to it's super easy to just skim off the top and discard.

Tried this method this morning. IT’S A KEEPER!! I love how simple this was! *SHARED*
Our pup LOVES bone broth for nearly every meal. The Instantpot is the only method I use as well. Great video Big Dog Momma!!!

Can you explain how you use it? I think this would be great for my big dog. 🙂 thank you

I noticed you start with cooked bones, what is the cook time in a pressure cooker 😊for raw bones from the butcher?
My small dogs need it too!
Yes, absolutely! It's fantastic for all dogs and humans!!
Making this for the first time in the instant pot tonight! Excited to try a quicker option to keep up with the demand.
Fantastic! I hope it turned out amazing!
Thanks for sharing! I wondered why you mention to never give a cooked bone to our dogs.
Good stuff❤
Hello and thank you for this video but I have a question can I use raw bones to make this or do the bones have to be pre cooked thank you
Thank you for this video, I will be making it this weekend, I have an instapot, I didn’t know it would be that easy. My dog love bone broth.
Yay! I hope it turned out amazing!! Make sure you check out the blog post linked below for the FAQ's that you might find helpful as well.

If my husband is making pork ribs on grill can i then use them to make bone broth?
Yes
Where those used (already cooked) bones, like left overs from dinners ect?

I don’t have a soup button on my Ninja Foodi. Should I use the pressure option instead?

Could you freeze it into silicone molds to add as a fun frozen treat?

Def can just make sure u let the broth cool off first as much as possible
Hi Stephanie, Can I add some veggies?
No onions or garlic. Search for what vegetables are safe for dogs. 👍🏼
Can you use wild game bones?
I don't know of a reason you couldn't. You may want to do a little more research, but I would say yes.
@@BigDogMom THANKS I Love Your Dogs. Wish mine would let me do there toenails like yours do.not so lucky lol
Aw, thank you! I will have tons more on nails coming soon!!! You can definitely do it! ❤️
I’ve always been told to remove the fat before giving it to your dog. ????
The crock pot method doesn't work nearly as well as the instant pot
My yorkie gets bad tummy runs from bone broth and thats from literally a teaspoon over his meat🤷♀️
Low quality meat will affect the gut
Can humans drink this? Haha
Yes!
