Oh man, once you start appreciating Taylors lyrics you never go back. You should listen to/watch cardigan. Such amazing writing, her video is such a great metaphor. You're always so spot on with Bo Burnhams meanings, I bet you would get her metaphors and appreciate them. Plus, this song is about 10 years old, she re-recorded her old albums and added songs no ones ever heard before and recently released them. Her writing has really matured since this time in her life.

the funniest thing about this song (and video) is the fact that it's full of references to other songs from red! the reason why she acts all goofy is that he never saw her as a woman but as a little, dumb girl, and also she wasn't wearing heels with the wedding dress because he didn't like that since she's tall, etc. it's basically a call out song, that's why it's so enjoyable.

So also about Jake Gyllenhaal (everything on Red is pretty much) but her comments about indie music cooler than her…. 😂. he decided to go follow Mumford & Sons on tour instead of going to her 21st birthday (now whose mature??) Anyway, what is ironic is Mumford was singing backup on Cowboy Like Me on Evermore. Also, they cut to Aaron Dessner (The National) in the video on that line who she collaborated with on Folklore & Evermore, dieted with Justin (Bon Iver) and who she is still working with on production (Aaron) on Vault tracks on her re-records. By showing Aaron on that line, it shows she recognizes the irony.
You need to react to ‘Dear John’. She destroyed John Mayer in that song. You will love it!! It’s amazing!

There is more about the 21st Birthday party in the song, "The Moment I Knew". She has Keds red sneakers (she had a promo deal with them during her Red Tour, everyone wore them) under the wedding dress; the red guitar and red color scheme is taken straight from her Red Tour (and a lot of Red is her experience with Gyllenhaal). So, no, he didn't forget then, or now. Also, she had a lot better birthday when she turned "22". At the end she draws an " = " on the cake because Ed Sheeran's new album was just out.
