Giving the enemy lucky 7s causes the damage they inflict to be 7777. With poison, they are inflicting damage on themselves, hence the 7777 damage poison effect. Of course it defeats the enemy, because that's how much HP they have. At least, that's how I understand what's happening. I didn't know enemies could get the Lucky 7s effect. Good thing they don't do like 65 attacks in a row like the party members do, though I suppose the poison would act before the attack frenzy, so I wouldn't know if they do or not.
