Thank you SO MUCH for showing the step by step and product! I'm trying to get ideas for my first paludarium for my bullfrog tadpole, and he has just grown his legs so I had to add some land for him. I've never build a paludarium before, but I have live planted freshwater tanks. I've been scared to try my luck with it, but this looked simple enough!!!
Lots of farenheit made me laugh 😂 thank‘s for that one! Living in austria i just feel the same when it comes to farenheit. I guess i‘ll never get it 😂 Great video! I‘m about to get some mudskippers and your layout inspired me!
found your RUclips channel a couple days ago and I must say you’re by far my favourite RUclipsr to watch! trying to convince my partner to make the hour trip down to your store with me to check it out lol
love this, wish it had come out earlier when I first bought my mudskipper months ago. he's thriving but I am disappointed by the aesthetics of my tank!
Appreciated this video, I just learned about dwarf mudskippers (thought the only option was the giant ones), so now I’m making my 40 gallon into a mudskipper tank! I didn’t really know how to go about making a slope that stays in place before, so this was helpful
I've always wanted some Muddskippers but never knew how to setup up there tank and well thankz to you and love how simple it is but now I have some ideas and with you help have a great way to start out ( using the sponges) simple but AMAZING love it and thank you 👍🏼👍🏼👌👏🏻👏🏻🍻🍻😁😎 give us an update on it in about 6 months
Brilliant video mate! I have been searching everywhere and to no avail yet, no one mentions what kind of lighting/low heat lamp or how to keep air temps just right. Any solutions? Thanks a million!
Air temperature and humidity levels depend greatly on your ambient conditions. But being a tropical to subtropical species for most mudskippers ideally you want the air temperature around the same as the water temperature. Easy way is to use a lid on the aquarium and adjust venting accordingly. A heat lamp would dry out the environment too much. Lighting can be any aquarium spectrum tube/ LED. They only need enough light to hunt food.
Thanks tiger! Oh what type of severum is in your vid? I also keep seeing wild caught Oscars but have never kept them. How aggressive are they compared to a tank raised?
Hey Paul! I have been looking to upgrade my mudskipper tank and this is just perfect. I had one question tho, whats the PPI for the foam? I dont want to get a not too dense one and have the waterfall idea fall through. Cheers
I’ve started slowly with drygoods getting added daily , still a few things to do but click the link in the description of this video to my website then click the Shopify link. Any questions just ask
how much will the cuties sell for when you get more? Do you sell the salt stuff to make the water brackish? I got a really large tank that would be perfect for the skippers!
There’s quite a few inline heaters you can use with a mini canister filter. Otherwise most heaters can be placed horizontal and will work with just a few inches of water.
The big filter pads don’t need cleaning it’s more vacuuming the gravel to remove any solid waste. The big filter pads are just for biological not mechanical. As this tank set up, only has three mud skippers, even though they have recently sold and it’s waiting for more they don’t produce very much waste at all. If it was a bigger setup with more fish producing waste, you could easily just have a sponge just under the substrate where the water goes through first and just clean that part.

Nope, just the water heated between 20-30C
Thank you so much!

What size tank would be accommodating to one or two mudskippers
It depends on the species
But ideally a 90-120cm ( 3-4 foot ) tank would be best for the smaller species
How do you clean the big filter pads?
The big filter pads don’t need cleaning it’s more vacuuming the gravel to remove any solid waste. The big filter pads are just for biological not mechanical. As this tank set up, only has three mud skippers, even though they have recently sold and it’s waiting for more they don’t produce very much waste at all.

How large will the argentilineatus get?
Around 20cm
I am watching this video in the year 2138 - How much are the filters? - Lol Jokes - Awesome video m8!
😂😂😂😂👁️🐽👁️
Do you have an extra dea how much will be setting up ab enclosure
Sorry?
it is possible to train the mudskipper to sit on your hand?
They will jump on your hand for food once they are settled into a tank
Is it possible to add mangroves?
In a larger setup with better lighting and a deeper substrate it would be super easy and look awesome!
How do you clean the filter ?
Just take the top sponge off and the filter cartridge just slides right out.
Gravel vacuuming around the sponge also needs to be done every couple of weeks

@abosedefreebornekiyekumor9838 not an easy fish to bred. The female lays eggs in a mud tunnel. I’ve never bred them.

Most fine sands are fine to use. As long as it’s not sharp.
