    Thank you SO MUCH for showing the step by step and product! I'm trying to get ideas for my first paludarium for my bullfrog tadpole, and he has just grown his legs so I had to add some land for him. I've never build a paludarium before, but I have live planted freshwater tanks. I've been scared to try my luck with it, but this looked simple enough!!!

    Brilliant video mate! I have been searching everywhere and to no avail yet, no one mentions what kind of lighting/low heat lamp or how to keep air temps just right. Any solutions? Thanks a million!

    • @paulstingray
      @paulstingray  Год назад

      Air temperature and humidity levels depend greatly on your ambient conditions. But being a tropical to subtropical species for most mudskippers ideally you want the air temperature around the same as the water temperature. Easy way is to use a lid on the aquarium and adjust venting accordingly.
      A heat lamp would dry out the environment too much.
      Lighting can be any aquarium spectrum tube/ LED. They only need enough light to hunt food.

    • @paulstingray
      @paulstingray  Год назад +1

      There’s quite a few inline heaters you can use with a mini canister filter.
      Otherwise most heaters can be placed horizontal and will work with just a few inches of water.

    • @paulstingray

    How do you clean the big filter pads?

    • @paulstingray
      @paulstingray  10 месяцев назад

      The big filter pads don’t need cleaning it’s more vacuuming the gravel to remove any solid waste. The big filter pads are just for biological not mechanical. As this tank set up, only has three mud skippers, even though they have recently sold and it’s waiting for more they don’t produce very much waste at all.
      If it was a bigger setup with more fish producing waste, you could easily just have a sponge just under the substrate where the water goes through first and just clean that part.
