That takes more processing power away from your computer when tracking vocals. Why do that if you intend to send it to an engineer? Also, why waste time trying to mix the beat to perfection when you can do that in post.
man he giving it out to subscribers, when he took it off of alex tumay, and alex tumay gave it out for free on a live, search for his video and copy the settings its exactly the same as kennys, all kenny did was create a 1/2 delay bus, and a gate in the tracking track
Been using Ableton for few years always sent my files you to get mix in mastered I wanna start mixing my vocals and recording with effects. Subscribing now!
For using autotune while tracking & mixing with this: would you put it on first or would you apply that after the gate? I was tracking earlier & added the autotune after the gate & think that it sounds a bit off.
honestly the part at 16:40 is kinda wrong, sometimes you record a track and the artist moves back from the mic so the vocals become a bit lower on one track, so balancing out the levels in the seperate track comes first and then later on you stop messing with them and raise them all from the group
i am having a problem with this setup, i have all those compressors on the group, and then i have multiple tracks in the verses, which overlap into eachother. the audio signal from the first verse now compresses the audio of the second verse and so the second one is way to quiet while overlapping. what can i do against this issue except for placing all the effects on the verses themselves and not the group?
Seems like you either need to add a vocal rider/automation to the vocals to level them before they hit the compressor, or gain stage properly and lower the volume of he audio signal from the first verse
The Analog settings for H-Comp are actually really good and do add warmth and some cool analog distortion but other than that I would have to agree w you @10:25
Wouldn’t it be better to leave the sends dry on the whole vocal Channel and just adjust the sends accordingly for each vocal track? Example: If I wanted the lead vocals to sound dry and the adlibs to sound wet with reverb, I can just adjust the main vocal track send to (no reverb) and for the adlib track, turn the reverb send higher? Wouldn’t that make more sense?O is there a better reason that I’m missing for turning the sends up on the entire vocal channel?
What if you don't want the same processing on the verse and hook, you're stuck if you're manipulating it on the main group which holds both the verse and hook or is that where the automation comes in ;)
I use reaper but i know mostly this all applies. can someone tell me why should i record on a separate track and then drag it down?? i thought it doesnt make a difference. i mean i dont put my effects on my tracks i just make a bus or folder and on it have a gate, autotune, eq, compressor and de esser when i record u know just the basics. then when i start mixing i put the rest of my effects on that same bus apart from my reverb, delays, doublers, ozone imager or anything of that sort that creates space i just send them to the bus. i have separate busses for main vocals, background adlibs etc. sorry if it's a lot im still fairly new to this
