Hi, been a US fan of Korpiklaani (folk metal genre) for over a decade. I heard them described as playing old people’s folk music with electric guitars, having been a folk music band that turned to metal stylings . Check them out, and their lead singer Jonne Jarvela also has some interesting music of his own too.
@@sleepy6540 I love anything Anneke Van Giersbergen touches, After Forever (I miss them but I'm so happy floor is fronting nightwish now) and Delain to name a few ;) as well as Star one
This is an old dancing tune from Finland and someone put words to it in 1937 (I think). It’s sung in an old eastern dialect and I don’t understand everything even if I’m from Finland. Basically it’s sung by a young man who’s in love with a girl, Ieva and wants to go to a dance with her. Ieva’s mother tries to prevent that but Ieva sneaks out to the dance. Mom finds out and is not very happy but the young man tells her (very detailed) that she should just keep her mouth shut, because of course he’s not going to leave Ieva.
Just by the intro- I am smiling... Editing now- that was fun!!! Air drumming is fun too. I usually listen to the Christian music, but this was great. It was so new and different. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊🤔😎🤔
Just found your channel, but you're so much fun! If you ever get the chance, please go see Korpiklaani! It's such a fun show. Everyone drinks and dances together!
Quite alot of people have heard some version of this song, because a part of the Loituma version became a meme. (The Leekspin meme) Nice to see more people listening to Korpiklaani, though.
We've uh...reached new levels of weird with this song. It's not bad though! I just never would have thought to combine all those elements: the accordion and the organ and the guttural screaming. :) Thank you Linda, for making the suggestion! BTW I love the new intro!
Hey!! You should react to Tauren Wells' songs Trenches and Millionaire (good like that). They really changed my life and gave me a good boost in my walk with God!! Trenches has a really emotional message and beat I think you'll really enjoy reacting to Millionaire because of the rhythm it has! Love from New Zealand!
Finnish metal might not be the most popular in the world, but its the best metal by far.
Sweden and Germany are looking at you with bewilderment while Norway sharpens the battle axe...
@@Taylees 🤣Bring it Norway!! But seriously metal is life, regardless of metal genre.
@@Taylees but then the snow starts speaking finnish and they go on with their business.

actually there was words to it before 1937, but thats when they first recorded it. before that it was just a folk song that passed around.
Its not "old eastern dialect", it is savonian, very much still spoken today in Savo region.
