The song is about an Iron Age (300AD - 800AD) site, where multiple people were buried without cremation. In Iron Age pagan Finland people were cremated, so this is unusual. First they thought it could be an ancient sacrificial or death sentence swamp, and that is the view also in this song. But it's been found it was just a cemetary, the people were not drowned or killed. It had only a lake back then and has turned into a swamp later. There was a village with horses and cattle too. In the song this person was someone who was drowned, and she returns to greet the living people and invites them to join in her watery grave.

That place Leväluhta, is from 1800 swampcemetery...there is hundreds bodies there
