Thank you so much for this tutorial! We almost paid over $100 to get our stove repaired, and that price is just the diagnostic fee alone! We only paid $15 for a new ignitor and installed it ourselves. Also for those of you reading, you may have to alternate the wires after connecting if it doesn't work. When we first did it, it didn't light up, but when we switched them, it did.

My Hotpoint oven igniter I believe is bad, the broiler and bake igniter look the same. But the bake igniter didn't have a protective shield around it. Stove was here when we bought the house. Are both igniters the same?
Great Job! Thank You

Is it normal for Hotpoint flame to go out intermittently when baking?
Igniter not working but I'm also not smelling gas and putting a flame to the rod doesn't get the oven going. Could this be the switch or something else? Burners are working.
Not a big deal but will ask anyways. 1990s gas range RCA the model number plate is missing and tried to Google pics to identify it unsuccessfully. If I figure a way to take it apart based on this video and take out the igniter can I send a pic to identify the part or can I use a universal one?
I enjoyed the video.Could you please give me the brand of 5/6x1/4 ratcheting wrench you use. Keep up the great job.
