This is a stunning cover of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds' song "Stranger than Kindness" from Your Funeral....My Trial. The song was written by Anita Lane and Blixa Bargeld.
Thanks Fever Ray, you took an already favourite song of mine and embued it with another layer of awesome!
Someone loves to google shit.
@@rleeroberts6350 what's the point of your stupid comment
@@matoylakollaras395 keep you stupid comments in your pocket!
RIP Anita.
Nick Caves Song was like an old friend always by my side when i turned to Sadness and Lonelyness.... and help to heal slowly and survive even if u lost the most important in ur life.....
No, being hold up in your Scandinavian house for half the year in the winter has no effect on your mind. Perfectly normal thoughts.
written by Australians
LtEdPell Best comment ever lol
Dont worry. Live in a place where winter is hot and summer is hotter than hell, like Brasil, is also very healthy.
@@juliadias8928 hot winter? Not in Santa Catarina
how ironic.
I love how, Karin Andersson, can just take you to an entirely new world and never let you down. I really hope she continues her marvelous work.
Stranger than kindness
Bottled light from hotels
Spilling everything
Wet hand from the volcano
Sobers your skin
Stranger than kindness
You caress yourself
And grind my soft cold bones below
Your map of desire
Burned in your flesh
Even a fool can come
A strange lit stair
And find a rope hanging there
Stranger than kindness
Keys rain like heaven's hair
There is no home there is no bread
We sit at the gate and scratch
The gaunt fruit of passion
Dies in the light
Stranger than kindness
Your sleeping hands
The journey
The loiter
Stranger than kindness
You hold me so carelessly close
Tell me I'm dirty
I am a stranger
I am a stranger
I am a stranger to kindness...
thanks i never knew what she said
Thank you
Plauff Lses
I havent read the Lyrics, sounds good though.
+Plauff Lses just listen to the original by Nick Cave. Clear as a bell.
ionderness thank you for these beautiful lyrics . ☺
My favourite of Fever Ray's. The video makes it even more complete.
im flabbergasted and speechless as no one i have herd of can cut a Nick Cave number as brilliant as this . Fever ray you have now got yourself a new fan well done
True. I've heard a lot of Nick Cave covers, but this is the only one I can say actually cuts it.
Such a beautiful cover by one of my favourite artists covering another favourite. I'd love to see & hear a new duet by Nick & Karin.
You will never have a better experience of listening to this song the first time than me, walking through a grass field at night feeling absolutely hopeless.
Kariya M what happened then? You got better or suddenly fullfilled?
wow...
Excellent version of one of my favourite Cave numbers.
***** it is a Nick Cave song originally.
Nathan Parsons Actually it isn't. Cave said it was written by someone else, a female.
Anita Lane , she was his girlfriend in the 80s
Nathan Parsons Thanks for name! I could not think of it off the top of my head.
Anita Lane and Blixa Bargeld are credited with writing the song. But it was written for Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, so I think it's fair to call it a "Nick Cave" song, too.
Wtf!!! I had no idea this was a nick cave cover until now. It is one of my favourite songs ever.
Such a superb song. And a more than worthy cover.
This is my favorite song from the album, the video evokes my most primitive feelings, she's dark and beautiful and the music desintegrates you..
I can't help rocking back & forth out of pleasure when this is on
Fever Ray...I want Fever Ray! That music is amazing and I can't get enough of it. The Knife just isn't the same
This is a wonderful cover of one of my favorite songs. She made it her own, which in my opinion, is the only way to cover a song. Great touch on the ending.
absolutely love this project of Karin's. I'm not a big fan of the Knife, but I love how haunting and dark Fever Ray's music is…it kind of reminds me of Portishead, but on another level..make another album please!
OMG thank you for the including Greece in your destination, I can't wait ...🖤
I miss her so much. Hope she will come back one day
Haven't you heard? She is. Maybe it will be Fever Ray, maybe not. But she is currently in the studio!
+KINDLE typed it when there wasn't an interview
which interview?
She stated in an interview that she's never going to do the fever ray guise again.
gosh! i cant believe it.. :(
This is so inspiring, so so very inspiring. It's been long since I saw such an art piece.
Thank you NICK CAVE .
Thank you Anita lane and Blixa for writing this masterpiece
Now this is pure art...
Love their creativity and individuality one of my favorite bands right now..
listening to this on a phone is bizarre. You can't hear the main reason this song is awesome: the bass.
SetTheCurve Not if you got good headphones
That type of music today's rock'n'roll is not delivering.
I've come to the same conclusion. It's like reliving what was a mind-blowing show. So glad I had to chance to experience such a rarity of a performance!
All of her videos have this strong eerie voodoo-like theme, with all these amazing witchdoctor-costumes and stuff! Amazing art!
Fever Ray covering Nick Cave ... dreams do come true
Still one of the greatest videos ever made.
this song makes me feel strange and i'm living for the feel.
This video is just amazing i love the whole album is a piece of art
Wow never knew two of my favourite artists would collide like this...
Génial!!! Cette chanson récupérée des années '70 est une vrai merveille! GREAT!!!
A suggestion: if you can download this video, increase the Brightness on whichever video player you watch it with, and you'll be able to see some cool extra stuff that's hidden behind the darkness. It's totally worth it.
That's cool!
Esta canción es realmente preciosa, me da una satisfacción y me tranquiliza, grande fever ray
its something in the lines of being stranger than kindness in a world where kindness is already one of the hardest emotions to find. The video is just the voice being turned visual, pure artistic stuff, not meant to be completely understood, but interpreted.
what a beauty of a track :-)
Love this song, especially the depth and rythm from 2:31...so unique, dark and sexy
Her videos are breathtakingly beautiful. Generally I just use RUclips as a music player, but with Fever Ray I cannot take my eyes away from her videos. They are so visually rich and emotionally provoking.
I love this song
The obsession does not end. This song puts me in a daze and I really can think listening to this.
NO WORDS. AT A COMPLETE LOSS OF WORDS. YES!
3:13-4:33
Im not much for covers of Nick Cave songs, but when someone takes a song and makes it "theirs" instead of trying to sound like Cave it's more ok. Fever Ray did a good job making it hers.
this clip reminds me of elements of the fever ray live show... what a powerful experience to see them live!
The absolute best track of hers.
karin and andreas' vision and direction churn out work of progressively greater strength and awesomeness. so good to know that's not impossible. i'd like to live in this video.
Fever Ray's songs have that dark artistic feel to them. She also uses pitch shifting in her songs, which gives it a even darker feeling. I remember when i first heard "keep the streets empty for me" I loved it. Now i love all fever ray and the knife too (which just came out with a new album not too long ago)
this is scary af but yet charming as hell
THIS. IS. OUTSTANDING.
they are genius...they know how to get all your emotions working all at once just from 3-4 minutes of music
remember seeing this live at Brixton last year. Up until that point I'd never heard it before (somehow slipped through the net). and it blew my mind. Utterly gorgous and moving.
Bring back this band!
stunning.
Love it!
Just saw Fever Ray at a Festival, easily the best show i've seen in my life and i couldnt even see the stage for all the smoke they put out. had a similar set up to this video with the lampshades and a super awesome laser show.
Love it
sweet music, like a astral adventure.
it's a buffalo hat. she is a great plains creature. i have no idea, but what i do know is that i saw this tour at the glass house in pomona and it was the smallest venue and it was mind blowingly good.
❤ OMG 😱 I 💕 this song 😍 going back to her Roots of past art !
the new album can't touch this era of Fever Ray. Adore this track.
art and poetry
@stephenieduncan I think her voice is unique and very special...... she is forme the best singer i know..... at this moment.... so you are not the only one...... and this two groups are excellent.....
Awesome song!! and video! Only The Knife! Blesses!
everything about this artistic genius
Been wondering if Karin got her inspiration for her song The Wolf from Nick Cave's Tupelo. It's the same chords, and both songs have a tribal feel to them.
This is literally what the live set was like when i saw them at Coachella ❤️❤️❤️
lovely
mesmerizing.
Amazing. Epic. Speechless.
I very very very love this song and video!!!
...piece of art...
Beautiful! Watching it live was amazing too! Woot for the Glass House! I hope a video for "here Before" will come out. It's my ((new)) favorite song from Fever Ray ((so far.)) haha.
AMAZING VIDEO! reminds me of the live experience -unforgettable!!! thank you for music/video like this!
I love this band so so much,
wow me encanta fever ray y aun mas sabiendo que tocan un cover de nick cave
She is performing in London next Wednesday - and I have a ticket! Very excited : )

Best Album in 2009 !!!!

Nice cover of Nick Cave :)
Love Fever Ray :)
This is VOOODOOO, Fever Ray is awesome
the ending is so beautiful...
It's absolutely magicly! I love part from 3:40 and this strange melody in back...
Beautiful
You know what is stranger than kindness? The seven people who disliked this
WOW she has blown me away yet again, unbelievable
I LOVE YOUR ALBUM IS THE BEST!
Awesome!!! ..When you come in italy??!?
..Hopefully soon!!!!
come back please
this speaks to me
The part in 2:30 is epic. The audio and visual combined...
Karin Dreijer Andersson and Nick Cave should get married, write an evil love masterpiece album, and then break up so that each of them would write an evil sorrow masterpiece album. Fuuuu--
Fun idea. Karin is a lesbian though, so I don’t see that happening any time soon lol
Nick is married, but I can appreciate the match up. Would be very interesting to see them work together on music, even just for one song. I'm also pretty sure that Karin's song The Wolf is a rip off of Nick's Tupelo
The most Aweso.e.idea I've ever heard...lol
That's a terrible idea. 😕
very cold.........very dark..........very lover..... .........
just cool!
Ok, I've heard many examples of "Music;" seen many "Music Videos." This is something transcendant; a dream manifested beyond its neurological origin. "Amazing" is too discrete a word to capture the holomorphic, effervescent nebulosity of this expression. Karin will be known for many years to come, as well she should be.
El entrenamiento musical es un instrumento más potente que cualquier otro porque el ritmo y la armonía encuentran su camino en los más profundo del alma
i like this vid alot ! great song!
Please come to cuenca
Brilliant! Fever Ray come to Ireland.
Amazing cover.
This video is a combination of divine revelation, shamanism, and darkness considering its a song about prostitution I love the outfits, the lyrics, the beat, the atmosphere a true masterpiece she Is a genius when it comes to music
yes it's a song about pointless prostitution meaningless sex
Thewitching .... really? i mean.... i did no see that.
