This is one of my favorite songs from Fever. This song is just so chill and fluid with a cool sound. I love the video! Oh , and if anyone is curious; the lady portrayed in the video, adorned in the beautiful Silver gown is Kari Sylwan. Who is a Swedish actress, dancer, ballet teacher, and choreographer. She was also featured in "The Knife's "full of fire" video.
Idk how I’ve gone this long without seeing this video. I bought the album the year it was released and it’s one of my favorites. I’m actually grateful I left this gorgeous morsel for my adult self.
Gosh, Karin just makes want to meet her and spend hours talking about anything!! She must be such an utterly interesting person. Such captivating and mind-blowing creativity can only come from a genius. There must be something addictive about this song, for I haven't been able to stop listening to it since I first did yesterday. Karin, you ARE amazing.
happened to me when i first found out about her. listened to her album for about 8 days straight. literally from the time i woke to the time i went to bed.
So much brilliant music through the years. Thank you. I've been a fan since the first time I watched The Knife Silent Shout concert video from 2006 in Gothenburg
I love this video! The lady seems to be in total nostalgia, which seems to pass happily near the end where she accepts her old age, her past, present and future!
I've got a friend Who I've known since I was seven We used to talk on that phone If we have time, if it's the right time Accompany me By the kitchen sink We talk about love We talk about dishwater tablets, illness And we dream about heaven I know it I think I know it from a hymn, ah They said so It doesn't need no explanation, oh Or a box to open up with light and sound Making you cold, very cold I leave home at seven Under a heavy sky I ride my bike up I ride my bike down November smoke And your toes cold now A new color on the globe It goes from white to red A little voice in my head said so I know it I think I know it from a hymn, ah They said so It doesn't need no explanation, oh Or a box to open up with light and sound And if you don't, you're on your own I know it I think I know it from a hymn, ah They said so It doesn't need no explanation, oh Or a box to open up with light and sound Making you cold, very cold
This was when it made a click in my head, and I was intim with my grandmother. And I know , she wouldn't want it. Right now , she is 97 years old. I am shocked and so....proud that I'm her Grandchild. In addition, we all should be thankful, in comparison to this uaual conditions in the past . God may bless you all
The only albums I love every song of and can understand and accept to listen to is Fever Ray's. Thank you for your awesome accumulation of creativity coming to resemble the art you bring to life. Thank you!
That was the best comment I read in days. Gonna copy it and use it as a quote ! Also it is so very true, I know many people who think their choice of music is an achievement which put them above others.
oh my goodness Karin, I love you and your music and your videos. You are full of sugar and magic. I just sent this to about twenty-three of my friends on Facebook, just because it's so awesome. COME TOUR IN AMERICA!! [You'd only really have to hit the big cities, (LA, Chicago, Atlanta, and NY.)]
Karin Elisabeth Dreijer Andersson (born 7 April 1975 in Nacka, Sweden) was the lead vocalist of the electronic music duo The Knife, formed with her brother Olof Dreijer. Andersson was previously the vocalist and guitarist of the alternative rock band Honey Is Cool. Andersson released her debut solo album under the name Fever Ray in 2009. Her vocal style is notable for both shrill and deep tones, and also the use of multitracked vocals, with different uses of pitch-shifting technology on each track, creating an intricate and mysterious effect. Visually, Andersson employs the use of masks, face and body paint, intricate costumes, and other theatrical elements in photo shoots, videos and live performances, during which she often performs behind a gauze screen that partially obscures her from view.
1975? She looks so old tho.. I guess it's that hard Scandanavian Viking kind of lifestyle raiding and kicking in doors everyday.. and they say blacks are bad. HA
I hope you dont Think this 86 year old lady isthe Swedish singer Fever Ray ( Karin Dreijer Anderson). I can tell you Karin is a realyl good looking woman. I know it
I think I know it from a hymn, ah
They said so
It doesn't need no explanation, oh
Or a box to open up with light and sound
Making you cold, very cold
I leave home at seven
Under a heavy sky
I ride my bike up
I ride my bike down
November smoke
And your toes cold now
A new color on the globe
It goes from white to red
A little voice in my head said so
I know it
I think I know it from a hymn, ah
They said so
It doesn't need no explanation, oh
Or a box to open up with light and sound
And if you don't, you're on your own
