This song is totem for my entire life. When I listen to it before exams, I always reach my points and goals. Never failed about this totem. On Saturday I will have GRE exam, so I feel anxious about upcoming career that I can cross the line throughout exam. Hope that it will happen again and I will achieve my ultimate goals. I never liked it when it played on the radios. But i realized - the song i knew only was a remix. This one - for me - is true art. Alternative at its finest and on top of that with rick nowels as a producer. Its sth different, a real masterpiece.

My interpretation about the lyrics and the video: The man was mourning and living in despair after the woman (his lover) was dead. In the other dimension, the woman keep following him wherever he goes and trying to encourage him to stay strong and don't give up.
Hmm, I think he's the one who has passed on and she is chasing his memory. That's why she's dressed in black, in mourning.

Damn thats the 13th anniversary right now... i remember this song really well from my childhood when i was 5yo at the time and it's very nostalgic to me. Years are passing, im older and now im almost not a kid anymore. It felt like just a while its a little bit sad when im thinking about that. Still, thanks for this song cos it always felt magic to me and i enjoy listening to it and reminding gold times of my childhood.
Now this is what you call a masterpiece.
I interpret the video as a man trying to move on from the memory of his dead wife. The memory of the wife walking and running after him is not at all malicious but just a visualisation of how memories have a way of catching up to us...and at the end when he reaches the sea, the man falters and gives up on moving on, letting himself forever live in the memory, and he cries.

I WAS SEARCHING FOR YEARS TO FIND THIS MASTERPIECE
My interpretation of the video is that video is about one person with two different emotions/resolutions. The man is a symbolism for anxiety and desperation and the women would be acceptance and comforting. The interesting part of this could be that the women is dressed in black because she is the carrier of all the sorrow.

This is my interpretation. The following is jelousy and obssession. The man runs out of fear and surrenders, unable to cope. He seems to have committed some mistake. She seems to forgive him, to give him comfort, but then she looks at the camera and I interpret that it's not her love that's as big as the sea (first and last image of the video) but her madness.
I personally think that the man is trying to escape depression (the woman in black) but he gives up because it's too hard / she's too strong; and she eventually wins (last look into the camera)

no, she is not embodying death but rather sadness in this video. He wants to escape from sadness, he is scared of it, running away, but in the end succumbs to it. All sadness wants is to accompany him, not letting him alone. Sadness wants to soothe his pain away.
