This song is really sad. My boyfriend/best friend died tragically 20 years ago and I spent years after in a stupor. I was depressed, suicidal, and using drugs and alcohol regularly. People that are bad mouthing her, have no idea how it feels. It's so easy to say you have self-respect, but when you feel so low. You need to feel wanted. Even if that means sleeping with a bunch of random people. You need to feel like you are still worth something. Even if it's just for sex.

This song is really sad. My boyfriend/best friend died tragically 20 years ago and I spent years after in a stupor. I was depressed, suicidal, and using drugs and alcohol regularly. I remember my level of sadness and I didn't care about anything other than not feeling the pain I was experiencing. It's been many years since (I'm nearly 40 now) and I can certainly still recognize what this song is saying. I am grateful to have survived this time in my life and hope that anyone struggling reaches out for help.
