Hey Adam! I've listened to that tune countless times... never tired of it! At 6 am, it works better than 2 espresso coffees! 😁 I'm just wondering if you have a backing track that could go with it.... and free if possible... retired "old" guy speaking 🤓
You are absolutely tops! I've been working on your groove method (my drum arrives this week) and I've already picked a new version of an old song to test-fly my new groove. AND it starts with a walking bass line that continues through the piece. Now I'm super pumped. You da man!
Adam - man I love this song... it never gets old. I haven't had the nerve to try it yet, but I am going to head over to StudywithAdam.com and watch the lessons! Thanks for the music with my morning coffee! Best, John
As i said in facebook , this is amazing , how you have evolved your own arrangement , i really love it , and in this case is very very refreshing and interesting , new licks , new chords , new percutions , new things , and also a new right hand technique , YOU ARE THE BOSS . Thank You Adam again . I never get tired seen you playing anything , its a pleasure for the soul . I think i am going to steal some things of this new version to incorporate in my version . ;-) Allways giving you the credit for it , of course .
With the help of your new instructional videos I've managed to make leaps playing this song in just a couple of weeks. From a groove perspective I still think the syncopation back from the 2008 video is so incredibly much better in comparison. This play through introduces new ideas regarding that specific part though! If you want some feedback in general regarding the new tutorial videos it's this: This song, well the groove of it anyways, is so very VERY dependent on the player making the "clicks" on every 2. I would go as far as saying that the "clicking" is what gives this song substance. Every piece of syncopation depends on a solid metronome to highlight the rhythm, and after having practiced this for a couple of weeks it's now clear to me that the "clicks/slaps/flails" is that solid metronome creating the perception of groovy awesomeness. Yet in your tutorial videos you treat this "clicking" business as something the player needs to do, but to my mind you don't give this essential topic enough time. Because the topic is taken for granted, or as a prerequisite skill one needs to have, you do not actually dive into the techniques that might help achieve said "clicking". Consider the turnaround alone. Going from chorus #1 to the turnaround without continuing emphasizing those click on each #2 until reaching the B in the walking bass leaves groove in a state of wanting more. So in summary: awesome job making the tutorial videos for this song, but I personally find them lacking in essential details. You play rhythm guitar with droning bass lines like few can on this planet, and what makes you truly unique as a plays is that sense of timing. What comes absolutely natural for you, the things you hardly even have to think about, is exactly the same things you should be teaching to others if you truly want to leave a legacy. So don't focus teaching the things you yourself find hard. Teach the things about guitar playing you find easy. Those skills are what other players are in awe of listening to you play! Makes sense? I think you are a prodigy regarding rhythm.
As soon as I see your video at once I put it like. You are VERY good at playing !!! *Immediately sorry for the translation, tk. all "Google translator"*
I imagine some people stand in an art gallery in front of say a Turner or a Caravaggio and say, "Well, that's good, not at Da Vinci's level of course, but interesting." As if they have to diminish its greatness for some reason.

Thanks Adam! Started my day with this. Inspirational and entertaining as always. I guess I'll need to learn this one at some point.
Yeah Jeff! I play this all fingers now, and I use this one to keep me honest with the bassline groove - which "looks". easy :-)

Well, very good! Not at Tommy Emmanuel level of course, but very interesting.
