I think this is the most incredible step FT has taken in a long while. Josh's words are inspiring. These airframes give a great step into the world of flight. The all inclusive pack is a bound in the right direction. Not only for STEM but also for adults looking to enter the hobby. I am so happy to see this come out of the years of work that Josh and the crew have put in. Congrats on the accomplishment. This is a totality on the work you have put towards your passion. Cheers!
As a STEM Educator at the Ignacio Community Library I find your lessons and equipment do not disappoint. Thank you for all the time and effort you have put in these STEM classes. Flite Test is an amazing organization and I cannot praise you enough for all the entertainment and education I and my students have gleaned from your videos.
True story time: Yesterday my wife was outside watering the plants.... My 4 year old comes out with the FT freighter assembled (not glued, but put together... crafty little bugger)!!!! I ordered this kit months ago and have not gotten to it because Im stuck outside of the US... So my wife got out the instructions and the two of them glued up the plane and tuned it per the video.... Later that day I get a video of my little 4 year old flying the freighter!!! Shes never flown RC anything before! So yes great kit and anyone can fly!! I cant wait to get home and get her flying more stuff!! Thanks to FT for these amazing kits, I will be buying more!!!
I took a step back from RC planes when I started having kids and realizing it would be out of reach for them for a long time. This looks like a really encouraging way to shorten that wait!
Ordering ours now! Absolutely love what Flite Test is doing to the hobby, educating the next generation, making RC and fun and not intimidating and bonding families. Wish I could crawl through my computer and give you a hug!
So what you're telling me is; you brought back Whitewings for a new generation and made them RC flyable. My childhood dreams have literally come true and have even been surpassed.
A few years ago quite a few different rc styrofoam planes with differential thrust "only" entered the market here in germany. They were quite cheap, maybe around 15-20€ as an rtf kit, and super easy to fly. My brother and i, while being adults in the late 30s and early 40s and him having own kids, had an awful lot of fun flying and modding these. With this bundle it´s finally time for the uncle - thats me ;) - to get his kids into building, flying and modding. While the shipping costs to germany are quite high i will definitely buy at least one kit and enjoy building and flying with my nieces. Thank you so much! To my knowledge there is nothing even close to comparable with the Easy Basix Bundle on the market. Great job guys!
I guess that I should also interject that the absolute second I found out they had an rtf version of that freighter, I literally stopped mid video and went and bought one off their site store. Been wanting this type plane model for quite some time and this one is well within not only my budget, but my skill level, too. Thanks again, to the Flitetest crew!
I'd call myself a pretty seasoned pilot but I'll definitely be buying these. It's great to fly cheapo planes once in a while and these look like they're awesome.
This program/channel is perfect for offering interest based learning for home school and private school settings. Thanks for your commitment to the hobby and the next generation!
My 12 year old son loves RC, we went to last year's Flite Fest and had a great time. This looks like the perfect way to get my 6 year old daughter started flying!
Bought the freighter during the first live vid of lockdown. 3 minutes in I bought the kit. Would have been earlier in the day, but I was at the school ballfield with my soon to be 5 yr old flying my Baby Blender (with 5 in. wing struts. Brings upper wing down to fuselage, stronger and handles great!). Good reason to be late!
Thank you for releasing these. I saw your simple longEZ and wanted plans for it. Now I wish I had kept the electronics from your 1st plane, an Airhogs A-10. Thankful, the FT crew has us covered on all fronts! Great work!
You guys rock man I tell you thank was into the rc hobby 20 years ago now I am back into and it was because of your videos thank you . I cannot wait to get my mighty mini corsair together . thanks guys keep up the good work.
Will there be downloadable plans? It is rather easier to download the plans and source materials locally here in Australia. My kids want to get into flying as well so this would be perfect.
hey flight test, I love you're products and videos I'm 14 and have only been in the hobby for about 3 months but I have already purchased your foam, power pack A, B and C and built 10+ planes. I live in Canada and usps won't ship lipos over the border so the cheapest shipping option for the freighter and I assume the ez pack is almost as much as the plane its self. I would be so grateful If you could introduce a battery free option so I can affordably introduce my friends and family into this amazing hobby.
Have you tried the EZ pack on a Guillow's yet and can i get the pack in the UK (over seas shipping )because if they work on them you just made all the micro kits easy to convert with minimal weight
I noticed there are two other plugs on the board that are not being used are those for future Servo connections? is it possible to use a micro Servo with this board?
Will you be providing free plans for these three planes? $99 for the combo pack is out of my price range, but $35 for the EZ power pack is perfect for me. I'd love to scratch build these with my 6 year old daughter.
My Grandson is so into flying with his Grandpa( me) as well as my Grand daughter. I can see many project uses for the basic package you offer including one I have been looking for a motor/ controller package for, this opens the door for many young people to design and build their own planes using Owens Foam board. No more looking on line to find parts and pieces of whatever, trying to find something that fits your projects reguarding basic flite and even fun silly projects. The price is right also.
So I've built all three, my opinion is to start with the Plank. It is the best middle ground. I've also taken advantage of the extra foam provided and built a custom aircraft using the SWAG method. I'm having a blast making it work, and if I can't.. $5 of foam and glue for a weekend of experience.
Does the things you do for people in this RC world is incredible and very much so appreciated you guys are awesome and you rock and keep up the good work please
I thought I had left a comment, but I don't see one. I really like this small power pack idea and hope there is one for model a wee bit larger and heavier. I will have to check into this later.
This is money. Keep pushing this! I teach grades 2-5 science and have a budget. Consider this- If you can allow me to bring flight experiences to every kid, or pairs of kids at a cost of $10-15 per kid, I can buy this every year. I know that is a tough , but it is the barrier where I will purchase a system. I need to give a class of 12-16 kids enough materials so they can work solo or in pairs to get a full experience. If you are able to create experiences that bring the cost to 100-300 per class, you start to get my attention! Remember, if you can separate the consumables from the reusable, you save money and so do your clients. If you design a starter set with the controllers, and then a separate refill pack with out, for years 2,3,4...etc. I'd love to talk if you are interested!
It seems you are asking for a 5 or 10 or 15 or 20 planes kit of the same model to build to stay in your budget - without electronics cause the electronics would stay in your school for the next year or would be lend for a year, right ? This is what I can agree too. Not every kid can or will afford the transmitter cause interest will be different after all. And I need to have a choice among the three models cause they are quite different, so I have to avoid the discussion who gets what and why. That is easier if all get the same or they can choose between in adavance, so I can order on demand 10 of A and 5 of B and 5 of C. Then I'd buy 20 electronic kits that would be owned by the school that we would lend for the time of the project - and afterwards would offer to buy for those who are interested ... and we would fill up our stock then again ... That way we would sell the used ones a bit cheaper to keep the exchange steadily going and would get a maybe 1 or 2 year old stock of the electronics. If I'd have to buy 4 kits then I'd get 12 planes to build and 4 ready made with close to no use in a class room situation where all should build to learn. It is a different story to buy such kit for your son then buying a kit for teaching a dozen and more in school - in my experience.
I think i am gonna make a 2D bf109 E3 with this new powerpack. I really like the idea behind these kits. I also think I’m gonna teach my dad how to fly with this!

I'm thinking about buying these. I Fly all kinds of models, and I often have kids ask if they could fly, and I always feel bad becuass if they are younger I don't really want them to fly one of my models. But now I can just hand them one of these.
