My Life At Shaolin Temple

  • This video is based entirely on my personal experience at Shaolin Temple and I only used my own footage.
    I always wanted to do this video and now felt like a good time. I guess you could call this the 'Origin Story'.
    I hope you enjoy.
    Edit: I just recently changed my mind about my "no ads"-Idea. I realized asking you guys to support me on patreon on every video is a lot more annoying than a simple ad infront of a video.
    All I want is to create more and better content and if ads will help me do that, then that's the way to go :)

I was very fascinated by this martial art since my very childhood and after watching your video I had the courage to go there and met these people. It's difficult for me, to meet new people and i was motivated by your story, because you decided to do the same but in a different country. You probably won't see this but I thought i had to thank you. I train almost every free minute to become as good as I can.

    • @JonasAnandaKristiansson

      @@Rere-rj3ff Spirituality is beyond words and definition, beyond time and space. It is the inherent nature of what you/we are, beyond the ego/personal identity as the body-mind.
      Spirituality, as talked about especially in Western misunderstandings of it, is not spirituality, it is not the Dao, but another game of the mind that forms a spirituality identity, which is very very common, and makes people think "they are spiritual".
      Non duality, is actual spirituality, and not just concepts, the temporary like thoughts, feelings, emotions, relationships and what not, but actual spirituality, and your essence, is boundless, timeless, with no beginning or end. Pure consciousness (existence, consciousness, and bliss, aka Sat Chit Ananda) is "You", beyond the concept and thought of "You".
      This can not be understood, even touched a little bit, by the mind construct. It has to be a direct experience of the life one is. And any human being can "experience the Self", if one is willing to release the dumbed down version of self called "the ego"/personality, to realize the boundless nature of the 'divine', the self, "God", "The Universe".

    Thank you for the great video dude! Very passionately I trained for over 15 years in NYC in a few different “styles” of Kung Fu and have to say, aside from the obvious, one of the best things I got from it was the brother/sister hood, the meals in Chinatown with those same people and that feeling that one cannot put into words! 🙏🏻 I have since retired from the scene as of 5 years ago and miss it daily.

Like Batman and Green Arrow and Iron Fist life brought you to a legendary monk temple, where through very hard training you became a total bad ass very fast and then you return to your home town to bring justice! Damn!

    • @moistman3110
      @moistman3110 5 лет назад +132

      I get that this is just a joke so not to sound like a hack but it's not really frustration or anger that they hit them, it's because in shaolin and even slightly chinese culture people are taught many things including discipline through different forms of blunt force pain.

    • @spastickid218
      @spastickid218 5 лет назад +148

      Not to mention that it serves a different purpose. It hardens the body, and helps you have a higher pain tolerance. You think the Shaolin could be able to do kicks and falls that involve them landing flat on their backs without feeling pain? Anybody else does it, they'll be grabbing the back of their heads and shoulders from hitting the concrete. For Shaolin? They get clubbed in these areas on a regular basis.

    "Spirituality that is expressed is not spirituality."
    This line made a lot of sense to me. It's akin to when you're making a life change, or intending to undertake a large project that you tell people about, advertising it seems as if you're taking the energy and spirit out of your intent. I think in the process of trying to promote and flex ourselves in front of others, that we're really just after the short-term satisfaction and validation that people give us -- not the internal validation and satisfaction that comes from the pursuit of evolving ourselves. Wise words, indeed.

      @Malik Roman I never saw the show until recently. I literally finished the last episode today. Binged it. When Aang finds an alternative solution to defeating the firelord. I wished they would've addressed what exactly happened to Zuko's mom. The show was so good. Reminded me of that feeling when I first watched Naruto. But now it's all over. :(

    I am very impressed with what you're doing here, in this video and on this channel. I don't think I remember learning your name. But, the few videos of yours I've watched about your training, the Shaolin Temple, and even yourself (being Chinese specifically), I have learned a great deal about you. And, I am grateful. I have a Podbean podcast channel, and have put off continuing to work on developing it, because I didn't and don't like the way I sound. I understand why that is. In these videos I've watched of yours, I see all your energy & curiosity, and how they've been put to good use. Including your willingness to be vulnerable. Your vulnerability in these videos has become a very powerfully positive thing. That's what I learned and realized what I needed to do in my podcasts was to be vulnerable. But, I've been getting hung up on anticipating all the trolls and deviant minded people out there. I will break through, in part because of your example. I have very interesting stories and experiences I think you and other will like, including training in Martial Arts. Thanks again for your story and experiences.

    It would be great if you could just share this experience little bit, although I have no idea whether that experience is sharable on social media or not..
