    Thank you so much for emphasizing the importance of conditioning and stretching before pole, I am fed of pole instructors never warming up their students properly and leaving them unaware of the consequences. Also thank you for not promoting fast results and giving time to your videos to explain every single step of the way.

    I am a year(ish) into pole and I realize now that most of my work has been PREPARING for pole and not really "doing pole" 😂 Sometimes it is frustrating bc I see people throwing themselves into combo training and tricks but, the importance of listening to your body and developing the right mobility and strength cannot be overstated...Ty for your wonderful instruction!!

    I'm SO glad I found you and listened to your advice this early on. I've had two classes and already pulled the crap out of my right shoulder. I'm very overweight but have seen so many girls bigger than me doing great at pole online,so I kind of just jumped in and I think I'm already trying to go too fast. My teacher may not realize I need to do modifications instead of just yanking my full bodyweight around on a pole right off the bat. Your video is showing me I need to watch out for myself and be smart to avoid injury. I love how you said have the pole practice time be LAST, after strength and other conditioning. This is just a REALLY great reminder not to try and take any shortcuts and that it is indeed really HARD and is something to build up to. ❤️❤️ Thank you so much! 👏💪🙏

      Thank you so much for this comment.♥️ Foundation is the most important thing. Focusing on that might feel like we are progressing slower cause we want to pole more and do crazy stuff. But I can assure you it will help you feel safer on the pole, develop awarness and mind-muscle connection that is very needed on the pole. Longevity is the goal.

    Very informative. My pole journey has been fascinating! It inspires me to exercise and stay fit. I'm over 50 and my body is going thru many changes with aches, pains, etc. Pole art/dancing/fitness however, is empowering and I'm determined to stick with it. I love your videos and maybe one day I can take a class with you at your studio.🙏💕🌹👏👍👐💕

    Your videos have been so helpful for me as a beginner. I have taken several pole intro classes at a local studio but I left very discouraged. It was very fast paced with no focus on technique. I felt I was missing the most important factors like form and engaging right muscles for grips before attempting spins/holds/climbing. I am so glad I found your channel, thank you!!

  • @ananascarpenter

    Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge Anete. I started pole about 8 months ago (was 50 the time) and I realized I am not developing as much as I'd like because my body is not strong and flexible enough yet. No injuries so far and I'd like to keep it that way. Your video has taught me to have patience and to pay attention to off-the-pole workouts. So I scheduled strength training and stretching for next week including recovery time. Evaluating my schedule weekly to make sure I do the right things. So thank you for this wake-up call!
    Coming end of May you are teaching workshops at the studio I go, unfortunately I am too much a beginner to attend any of the workshops. Maybe next year 😊
    Good luck to you and stay healthy!

    Thank you, Anete! I will be implementing this ❤
    Although I've been athletic my whole life, there has been a lot of lack in importance of warm up, cool down, mobility strengthening, and true body awareness for the majority of my journey. Looking forward to building the best foundation yet! ❤

    Thank you so much for this video Anete! It is difficult to plan a consistent workout by myself without neglecting something, and even though I know what needs to be done off the pole I always try and rush on the "cool stuff" on the pole haha. I will take all that into consideration and plan better workouts for better results, absolutely. Thank you 💜

    I came to pole dance after becoming bored in gym (after 13 years with barbells)) and now have almost same problems as you mention here, but with addiction to gym) so I continue training hard in gym, but keeping in mind some pole conditioning excercises there, also I need to recover for my pd classes, and the hardest is to implement also some stretching - omg)) I got overtrained first and injured quite hard, after few months of such schedule and now trying to find some compromises, as I want to continue with all my favorite trainings and classes, and it’s so soo hard)

    • @AneteBlaua
      @AneteBlaua  4 года назад +1

      Yes I know, I have been trying to find balance for years. And what I can say, is set a goal straight and find your priorities. Sometimes less is more, recovery is extremely important, so is stretching. Gym helps, but if you want to do pole more gym workouts has to be less. 2 times per week gym is great. And 2 times per week stretching is needed. So how many times per week can you actually do pole to recover for the next week, thats the main question and it depends on your own body.

    Thank you so much dear Anete for making this video for us! Very helpful and makes totally sense what you are telling us! If you make some other videos, could you advice us where we could buy the special shoes for pole, what we should pay attention to by buying this kind of shoes? Very high heels or maybe not that high for the beginning? ... and what kind of knie protection are you using? There is so much stuff on the internet and I just really have no idea what should I look for. ... Thank you in advance and see you in other videos!

    I started my pole journey last week. your grip videos have been my savior so far. how long should conditioning be? 3-4 months?

    • @AneteBlaua
      @AneteBlaua  4 года назад +2

      Conditioning never ends😄
      You just switch from grips to inverts, from inverts to handsprings, from handsprings to different grip handsprings and so on. When something gets done, move up, move forward.

      Pole Dance by Anete Blaua That’s amazing! I have learned so much from you on your channel and it would be a dream come true to take a trip to Latvia to train there! I tried to browse the website to look for pricing but I couldn’t understand it because I only speak English. Is the Latvia border open to travelers? And what is an estimate price to train at your studio for two weeks? Thank you so much for your reply 🙏
