The levels that Kano has brought to the scene. Understand, he performed at Royal Albert Hall with a live orchestra and brass band for one of his tours.....MAD!
Made in the Manor is such a great album and his follow up to that, Hoodies all summer, is sick too. Kano’s delivery is so good. You did pretty well to catch a lot of his lyrics. I find Americans don’t catch as many of his as say Wretch who tends to use more universally recognisable references. Kano is very east London. The goat imo
Guys- u are only just scratching the surface. I love how these americas appreciate Kano and other uk artists, but I wish sometimes I was their to explain the depth of some of the bars they miss.
A Stanley is a knife not Stan Lee, Peter piper picked a pepper is a tongue twister not potter paper, overthinking to much I think 😂 great reactions though guys
Shuffling on Mandy (Molly/MDMA) Pukka Pies( huge pie brand) same as Peters (sausage rolls etc) I grew up on US mainly Nas so Kano references were over my head for years..more I listened to UK the more the dots connected. Kano is elite man, always expect doubles/triples
“Everybody shuffling on Mandy” (MDMA, it’s the ingredient to ecstasy)..i’m nah cous(in) (sounds like Narcos) and chilling with some brandy. Basically saying he ain’t getting messed up on drugs with the rest he’s going to sit back and chill with his brandy like a boss
When Kano rapped "one million, i spray bars with no fragrance" might also be a reference to the perfume called 1 million, so that's a cheeky little double entendre there he just gifts us. Too smooth with it
The "I spray bars with no fragrance" is preceded by "one million", which is the name of Paco Rabanne's aftershave/cologne, which comes in a bottle that looks like a gold bar. Such a sneaky little bar, but so so good. Effortless and cool like you said, great reaction!
Can't say more that the others haven't said already. Amazing reaction as always and I'd recommend "This is England" from the Album. It's like an anthem of sort over there. And keep up the good work 👏
Also when he said I can’t run out of bars like chippy said. Reference for another young GOAT, Chip! Before it was chipmunk. Chip always said chip can’t run out of bars!
His tracks ' This is England ' , 'Teardrops' and ' a huntin we will go ( feat Ghetto - now known as Ghetts) . The last I believe is audio only... All amazing but all very different styles
You should just do an album review start to finish maybe 1 or 2 songs or even 3 per reaction see what you think you have already done 3 wheels up off it
Think we can all agree that US popular rap has gone down a route we as pure rap fans don't like but to say its dead is dumb, clearly whoever said this is not doing their research. Glad you guys reacting to the British scene. Noticed you asked for songs for some of the guys you have reacted to so here's a couple Mic righteous - Because I love you Kano - P's & Q's Wretch 32 - Nothing lasts forever Avelino - Magick
Honestly, Kano is like a fine wine and has just got better and better with age. For that reason, I believe his most recent album - Hoodies All Summer - is his finest, and his most accessible too for newer listeners - particularly those from outside UK. Kano uses a lot of UK slang and references in his bars, but there is a perfect balance in HAS, whereas Made in the Manor might not be as easy a listen for some for that reason (although the album is also fantastic). Musically and artistically, Kano reached new heights with HAS, and coming from him - an artist already at the top of the game - this was incredibly exciting to see. I can’t wait to see and hear what he’ll do next.
Stanley as in a stanley knife...he had a whole part where he used names as puns..chilling with brandy as in the drink but also brandy the singer refrancing her lyrics
Can we just big up Charlie at the end there, he had such respect that Kano did it in one take he had to tell everyone even if it meant potentially harming the platform if it got out that it wasn't all one take like how its edited to look like.
Kano, sym live Kano, class of deja Kano, teardrops (rated awards) Kano, 3 wheel ups Kano, any track essentially 😂 . Man makes great albums every few years.
Kano tracks: T shirt weather in the manor Ends This is England Ps n Qs Trouble (full video has class of deja in the video so both track and it’s absolutely incredible) Teardrops (rated awards version) Kiss 100 freestyle with Kano Ghetts and Skepta
Rip 🙏 paco robanne - One million ( 1 million bar aftershave) i spray bars with no fragrance. The Paco robanne bar Went over your heads guys. Love from the uk 🇬🇧 👊🏼
Great reaction!!! Sorry your heads almost exploded. Wretch32 part 5 came after this. Made in the Manor is a great album! He later came out with Hoodies All Summer which again elevated what a Grime song could be. If you do Class of Deja make sure it's Maida Vale live. It features Ghetts and D Double E. Kano and Ghetts used to be in the same grime crew for a bit so they have great synergy. Fyi..Charlie reloads a 2012 fitb for Devlin (member of The Movement)..but you may want to check out a 2004 hip-hop classic Klashnecoff (Terra Firma Crew) - Murda (lyric video), to appreciate the 2nd beat.
Kano - check out some tracks first - "Class of Deja - live at Maida Vale", "This Is England" and "Garage Skank", then check out his recent albums 'Made In The Manor' and 'Hoodies All Summer'.
Crazy thing is the beat is so simple and repetitive but the amount of different flows and styles he did on this is insane. True Grime Mc`s had to spit off top on any beat they are given and it really is showcased here. Also funny how he did this because Wretch,Ghetts and Giggs joked about him not having done a FITB at a dinner so he casually dropped this like its nothing .Great Reaction as always guys. Some tunes to check out by Kano , Pan Fried, Can`t hold we down , Teardrops (grm daily performance) First two are feel good tunes the last one is about police brutality in the UK.
Kano - Teardrops (Such an important track highlighting not only the abuse of stop and search powers the Police have that are abused, but how people of colour are stopped more, with Police using the same lame tactics as justification such as “we have stopped you as known criminals drive cars like this” - However if you are a person of colour driving any type of car you will here this Police excuse - People of colour also are six times more likely to die in Police custody and there are well over 100 cases where racism from the Police has been a contributor in deaths at their hands - Kano addresses this in a clever thought provoking performance) Kano - This is England (Just an amazing track) Kano - T- shirt weather in the Manor (Beautiful track and reminds me of summers in my city) Kano live at Maida Vale - Class of Deja ft D Double E & Ghetts (Amazing performances from all on this one) Big Narstie & Kano shut down The Big Narstie show! Extended Version The Big Narstie Show (Big Narstie is an OG in the grime scene, this short clip is from the end of his weekly show where Kano does a bit and kills - You Should check out Big Narstie’s FITB)
People won’t really understand Kano’s lyrics unless they are over 40, come from London ideally East) and understand Jamaica culture. His word play is amazing as it ranges from references to Jamaican food, street fighter video game, sizzla and Mr Leng, football and many many more….
Na I think in there 30's I'm in my 30's and grew up on kano and I think our country is so multi cultural that we understand what he means and the Jamaican food bars I'm also from many but we grew up on grime so obviously understand all the slang from down there
@@jaymufc8906yeah I agree mate. I’m 36, from the north east and I grew up listening to Kano too. Since he was with N.A.S.T.Y crew and a mate gave me a tape of a pirate set. I picked up the slang through listening to music and watching tv and movies. No matter where the music or whatever is from, if there’s something I don’t understand, I would look it up. I do feel like kids can’t really be arsed to do that nowadays like. So I do see where @jedikidgamer178 is coming from. But I don’t think Kano would be as big if his only audience was from east London. Tbh, I think, even you don’t fully understand lyrics in music. Doesn’t mean you can’t feel it. It’s like reading Shakespeare.
I think you’re wrong. The references are all relatable if you’ve lived a lifestyle. You can meet one man from the other end of the country and have more in common than the guy that lives next door.
Kano is my favourite artist of all time, similar age to me and i've just followed him since day 1. His album Hoodies All Summer is just incredible, an album that shows his growth as an artist and the production is perfect.
When he said "You can cut the tension with a Stanley" he means a Stanley blade it's like a little tool with a blade You use to cut things with. Then when he said "everyone's shuffling on Mandy" he is talking about the drug MDMA we call it Mandy and it's like a drug people take when they go clubbing hence the term shuffling which is dancing.
8.40 no he's not calling anyone out Righteous but still I do the H•A•M ting (not a reference to Mic but to HAM by Ye/Kanya and Jay-z track) You can cut the tension with a Stanley (Stanley knife, think you call them box cutteres) Everybody shuffling on mandy (mandy is MDMA) I'm Narcos and chilling with some brandy Pukka Pie or Peter's but not Andy, my family (Pukka and Peter's and makes of meat pie and I don't get the Andy reference)
Kano is the UK GOAT. He did a spot on The Big Narstie Show and literally stole the show. Absolute fire. It's only a short video but I keep going back to it.
"sing along I Titched it" is a reference to Sing Along by Crazy Titch, who is an OG Grime MC. You should check him out for sure, especially his beef tracks on other artists - in particular Dizzee Rascal; their back and forth beef was great.
Grew up eatin festivals ..... now im eatin at festivals... Avelinos new daily duppy is a must but not sure if youve done his first yet... Lowkey FITB Pt 1 and 2 next, would keep you goi ng in the right direction.
8:56 he's talking about pukka pies, it's a brand of meat pie in the UK. The whole section is referring to how everyone chasing the girl and he's chilling with a brandy keeping it humble
What I love about Kano is that he doesn’t make music that he’ll think will be popular, he makes the music he wants to make, he does his own thing. Real guy Yano
"Jumping on my Linford, but there's still some inches left"👀😱🔥🔥😂😂 Linford Christie was a British record breaking 100m sprinter who was about in the 90s. Amazing sprinter but was soon more well known for what was in his shorts after the headline "Linfords lunchbox"......👀👊🏻 Loved seeing how Hyped you guys rightfully got for this!😂👌🏼👊🏻🔥🔥🔥🔥💜
So he said, you cut the tension with Stanley (multi tool knife used by tradesmen, it slides up the back in) normal UK slang. Everyone shuffling on Mandy (MDMA is a drug used in clubs) Pukka pie is a brand of pie or possibly you would say pot pie.
a festival is like a jamican dumpling sooo nice and listen to t-shirt weather in the manor - this is england ( there aint a bad song on full album) all worth hearing even if not reactions 10/10 album

Mandy is slang for MDMA. Stanley is a brand of craft knife that gang members use for slashing people. Andi Peters was a children's TV presenter back in the day.
Been catching up with all you man’s uk reactions, you are class! You get a lot of references and meaning behind stuff compared to a lot of reactors, big love from the UK ❤
Mandy, is MDMA the drug, basically xtc in powdered form Stanley is a blade out of the Stanley knife, used to chop the powder, it's a sly little double with a reference to eachother but if your not in that world and not in the UK you wouldn't know, I didn't see it your way untill you said it I just heard the UK slang reference
If you lads want to see Kano's progression, you DEFINITELY need to check him out on Lord of the Mics and see what he done against Wiley.....when he was jus 17!!👊🏻😱🔥🔥🔥💜
Kane,Giggs,Ghetts and Wretch are all OG’s and Ghetts,Wretch and Giggs are always pestering him to get on fire in the booth as they’ve done a couple and so Kane stepped up & in one take 😂🔥🔥🔥
I frequently shuffle reactor videos and I love you all's platform and concept like it's dope it's something I would loved to have done and I just love what you guys do I check you guys out often and sometimes I'm not checking out the content because you're featuring an artist that I like I just shuffle and I check out your content based on you guys's personality and exposing each other to different music and I think it's great keep it up!! 🙏🏼💪🏼👊🏼🎙️🎧
He quotes Drake "running through the 6 with my woes" and then say's "But there's an E on the beginning of that I represent". Kano's from East London, E6 Postcode. Madness
Ok, so as you delve more into the uk, these OG mcs are from the grime scene past, they know how to find pockets because grime beats are uptempo & erratic, so you needed to flow different flows etc
He said Pukka pie or Peters (both brands that make pie in the UK, he then said but not Andy, in which he’s referring to a man called Andy Peters who used to be a kids TV presenter in the UK. Not a deep line, just some word play.
Tracks you should look up. Chip - Darth Vader Chip - Coward which is a diss track about Bugzy Malone check out his track M.E.N Kano wise just listen to everything. GarageskankFREESTYLE for his raw stuff. Teardrops will literally make you cry. D double E - streetfight ridding. This is something you won't have ever heard anything like. JME - Serious Giggs - talking the hardest Dave - Streatham Slowthai - nothing great about Britain Dizzy rascal - I love you and anything from the first two albums.
Couple Kano Recommendations from the album they're talking about (Made in the Manor) are T-shirt weather in the manor and My Sound. Also recommend P's & Q's but that's back from around 2004
He’s saying you can cut the tension with a Stanley, a Stanley blade is a razor blade, everyone shuffling on Mandy, that’s what mollys (mdma) called over here, he’s just narcos sipping on brandy (like a boss)
if you want a accurate depiction of how England is i highly recommend kano this is england and kano t shirt weather in the manor, big up for the reaction
“Those bucket leather seats ain’t what I call winning”… pushers/dealers in London often roll in 2 door VW Golf GTIs.. bucket seats just means you just a mid level roadman.. real bosses sit in the back
Anyone who hasn’t seen ghetts 60 minute live you need to check it out! Ghetts and Giggs chemistry is hilarious and when Kano joins them it’s even better

“Suck your mum, suck your mum, suck yourrrrr mum!” Will always be one of the funniest things a rapper has done
He stepped in at the last minute to fill a cancellation and whipped that verse up in next to no time
That's insane
I didn’t know that. Even better!
I didn’t know that still that’s crazy
Off the dome 😎
Not a chance 😂😂😂 kano definitely had this ready when he stepped in for the cancellation. He's good but he ain't "whip this up in 5 mins" good
Made in the Manor is such a great album and his follow up to that, Hoodies all summer, is sick too.

That was the album of the year for me
Yeah Kano is SO English lmao. He uses a lot of older English slang and references.
In that way he reminds me of CasIsDead.
Agreed. Should get more props!
Best UK rap album ever 💯
My Grime GOAT list is Kano, Ghetts & Dizzee Rascal, those three are interchangeable as no.1

A "Stanley" is a UK brand of knife with a short retractable blade used for precision craft work. And occasionally slashing people in gang fights.
US call it a box cutter

Pukka pie is a brand of pie or possibly you would say pot pie.
Kano is the best ! He is sooo east London thou so u guys did well. Love it! Made in the manor is one of the best albums ever made.
Strong start to the weekend with this upload 💪🏼
Hopefully some Cadet this weekend coming 🙏🏼
Can't wait until you hear dizzee rascal and both of ocean wisdoms fire in the booths
a festival is like a jamican dumpling sooo nice and listen to t-shirt weather in the manor - this is england ( there aint a bad song on full album) all worth hearing even if not reactions 10/10 album
you guys checked out Rapman - Shiro's Story yet? well worth a watch a bit different but well worth it
On the UK there is a TV presenter called Andy Peter referencing the like at 10:00 pukker pie a peter, no Andy. The brandy reference is to the drink.
have to react to "Class of Deja" - Kano, Ghetts, D Double E - one of the craziest tracks theyve done together
'Church's but still I do the Stans ting
Righteous but still I do the H•A•M ting, JAH!......Ratsas dont eat pork but still he does the HAM ting JAH
You can cut the tension with a Stanley.....Stanley is a make of knife
Everybody shuffling on mandy
I'm Narcos and chilling with some brandy....>>Everyones moving on a girl Mandy but Kanos straight chilling with a Brandy
Grew up eating festivals,(jamaican dumpling) now we eat at festivals (music events)
Mandy is slang for MDMA. Stanley is a brand of craft knife that gang members use for slashing people. Andi Peters was a children's TV presenter back in the day.
You need to check the it roll safe fire in the booth 🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂 you will love it, it’s one of the popular ones
🔥
Well done for listening to the people, you have made my day
Been catching up with all you man’s uk reactions, you are class! You get a lot of references and meaning behind stuff compared to a lot of reactors, big love from the UK ❤
Kano's just cool with it, man oozes the swagger
The sample is Let The Dollar Circulate by Billy Paul. And J Dilla did this track.
Absolute fire lads, I love your reactions. 👊🏼🔥🔥
The first beat is called Dollar Circulate and it was produced by 9th Wonder
Mandy, is MDMA the drug, basically xtc in powdered form
Stanley is a blade out of the Stanley knife, used to chop the powder, it's a sly little double with a reference to eachother but if your not in that world and not in the UK you wouldn't know, I didn't see it your way untill you said it I just heard the UK slang reference
Appreciate that 🙏🍻
He quotes Drake "running through the 6 with my woes" and then say's "But there's an E on the beginning of that I represent". Kano's from East London, E6 Postcode. Madness
Ok, so as you delve more into the uk, these OG mcs are from the grime scene past, they know how to find pockets because grime beats are uptempo & erratic, so you needed to flow different flows etc
You need to watch top series !!!!!
It's a J Dilla beat called Dollar
Yessss, now you have to do Devlin and wretch, off with their heads ;)
He said Pukka pie or Peters (both brands that make pie in the UK, he then said but not Andy, in which he’s referring to a man called Andy Peters who used to be a kids TV presenter in the UK. Not a deep line, just some word play.
Yrs brudas glad u finally got to this 1🇬🇧💯👊💥
Tracks you should look up.
Chip - Darth Vader
Chip - Coward which is a diss track about Bugzy Malone check out his track M.E.N
Kano wise just listen to everything. GarageskankFREESTYLE for his raw stuff.
Teardrops will literally make you cry.
D double E - streetfight ridding. This is something you won't have ever heard anything like.
JME - Serious
Giggs - talking the hardest
Dave - Streatham
Slowthai - nothing great about Britain
Dizzy rascal - I love you and anything from the first two albums.
Kano is the definition of an elite MC, one of our very best here in the UK, and my personal favourite.
Couple Kano Recommendations from the album they're talking about (Made in the Manor) are T-shirt weather in the manor and My Sound. Also recommend P's & Q's but that's back from around 2004
Also been watching and subscribed you guys since the the first akala video keep up the good work one of the best reaction channels on youtbe
Thanks so much for the support!! Appreciate you!!!!
Stanley is a type of knife . Mandy is a nickname for mdma . A dance/party drug
This was at the first time as Wretch 1. But its the only one Kano ever did and he's still got the spot. Godfather of Grime
Gotta get to this one next, Tribute to Jamal Edwards, founder of SBTV, let it skip the queue, it's time sensitive.
