Mate, you did really well with this! Alot of Americans can't cope with his accent and slang.. points to you.
Damo 616 he speaks with a lot of clarity to me but I completely disagree with you from a U.S. Perspective. I’ve seen most American reactions to Kano’s FITB and from what I see, they struggle to catch 30% of the entire thing so they be missing hella bars and plenty of stuff that relate to UK and just slang in general. Kano’s is slang heavy on the bars often. Rich done well picking up what he did whilst still missing bars but I expect that and have commented pretty much the same thing on the actual freestyle video. I believe it’s one of the best FITB’s but not enough recognition due to the reasons above. UK know but worldwide would struggle in comparison to a Wretch freestyle for example
Agreed 💯
Damo 616 No probs man, I appreciate your reply. No doubt, I do see American reactors rating Kano highly but we would pretty much not miss a line, I don’t think the same can be said for anyone outside of UK or even London for that matter lol. But in saying that, I think the Americans dig Kano purely because from their perspective, they’re witnessing a ‘raw’ mc. This is a guy that has it all, wordplay but flows tight too and can switch it up anytime. The stage presence of the man, he was born to hold a microphone. To me, that resonates a lot in the way he performs. Plus you will notice that he isn’t monotone like a lot of rappers. He has character, puts on yard accent in raps well and can project his voice at different levels and pitches to emphasise things certain bars in his lyrics. A true G
In regards to Rich, I totally hear you. But in his defence, I would say that he’s not your everyday music reactor. He’s quite deep and likes to put his take on things when listening. He’s not just demonstrating that he catches bars (which in itself is impressive as I see the ones he catches and it’s not always the obvious) but when he understands and likes a lyric he delves into the point. I think it’s a good thing that he devotes that much time to his listeners. Almost an educated reaction. His persona plays off well as although he’s confident, he’s not a cocky fucker and he seems a very humble grounded guy. And I guess we could always forward the talking if not interested but I watch reactions for the complete reaction as you never know what will be said and when. Peace to you bro
Boro Boyo1 That’s my thoughts too. London slang littered all over the freestyle. If you get it all, you know it’s ace. Even references to Lethal B (mentioned as Bizzle). Who would know who he was referring too? Grime listeners only. Plus when he says ‘Titched this’, no outsider would know that Crazy T so it’s very much written for local listeners and people who take the time to deep what he’s saying. So far, Rich has understood this most out of all U.S. reactions IMHO
Damo 616 how would you know missed it if you never heard in the first place. Lol. Feng shuay pal feng shuay.
This guy did really well, he understood 99% of it (apart from the references only Londoners would get). He’s clearly a smart dude.
Made in the Manor is Kano's Thriller. Best uk rap/grime album to ever leave these shores, that album perfectly describes my childhood and I assume its the same for a whole generation
Bro, as a Londoner, I salute you for reacting to this. Not many Americans could keep up because of the strong London accent but you caught a lot of the bars! It's crazy to me that I was listening to Kano 15+ years ago when he was totally underground, and now here you are listening on RUclips lol. love it.
Grace is a Caribbean food name brand just like Heinz
You earned those subs man, and you did well to grip most of this. A lot of this is really unique to UK but you caught a lot of it. The one line that nobody gets is:
Cant keep food in a ***** fridge/can it
Cant keep it in a fridge then can it
You definitely need to watch “Trouble” by Kano... comes with a performance of “Class of Deja” at the end with Ghetts and D Double in a shoobz, absolute mad ting
💯💯💯
It’s actually insane he needs to watch that
This is a real fire in the booth. Unplanned, pass through tings off the dome and ONE TAKE 🔥
No
I believe the mattress scheme is also reference to 'Twin Records', a UK based record label.
'I guess you can call me Mr.Mattress, what if I told you that Twin slept on this',
Great reaction my brother, keep the UK shit coming we got some real lyricists out here!
Kano stars in the latest Netflix hit - "Top Boy" You should definitely check that out.
pewpewetc yes we know that, but it’s on Netflix with a new series
He was the best actor in it too. Crazy performance, stole the whole show
Yes defo a great watch. Sully is a gtet character and Kano did good. On netflix i think series 1 and 2 (chanel 4 produced one) is called Top Boy Summerhouse. The netflix ine just called Top Boy. At least in UK
The mother reference is a tune from reggae artist Sizzla called Mama...thank you mama for the 9months you carry me through, all that pain and suffering...
Kano This is England is a track from his Made in the Manor album, you will really like it.
He just isn't a new patient he's one of the best in the UK grime scene
First time in Richs theatre is a new patient
You are the best at reacting to the UK scene. Love your stuff. Can’t believe you got the due diligence line. Probably the only one.
Never commented before on any of these. Grace is the cheap brand in Jamaica. His point was why you buying Heinze (expensive) when you should be buying grace (cheap) I love that line because both are cheap. It doesn’t matter which one you have so why pay more for nothing.
Loving your channel my friend. Sorry for the endless comments asking you to do another reaction without appreciating the ones you do.
My take on that bar was that Kano meant that you should be buying Grace because it is a Jamaican brand and it is better to support brands that are "local" rather than massive corporations.
Long lasting review but Kano is the OG of the Grime/British music industry... Facts!!!!!!
District is a well known club in London where the bouncers are seen as openly racist toward not letting black girls in (correct me if I’m wrong)
They're racist to black dudes aswell, even white man gotta be spending crazy to get in. Just paying to be cool
They are not racist but classist, Dstrkt club is off piccadilly circus and unless you are upper class or working class but flexing with a lot of money you won't get in. Trust they would not let Morrison in there unless he showed a couple of grand to get in. The black girl thing isn't true either at least not for mixed people although obviously, I can't speak for darker skinned girls as maybe they do face more prejudice due to colourism, I am from a mixed family and the UK is not really a racist country anymore it was back in the 70's and 80's with the National front and BNP but it's changed since then and it is class which divides us, but maybe there is a prejudice, that black people aren't upper class but somebody who is white with a Manc accent or Brum wouldn't get in either. It's about class which is the last barrier we have to break down in the UK, nothing to do with race.
Thanks for letting me know. I thought District was general term. Eg areas where anyone who doesn’t fit their usual requirements is turned down.
I had to drop a dub to get in and I'm a white boy but I made 5gs when ileft
@@mjpleusch me too man
It's hard for an American to really understand the levels of this fire in the booth. So many gems
i love u the way u break it down and your snigger when he makes u laugh
Oh yes! Kano - so happy you reacting to this fam.
I love your comments. I find it annoying that 90% of people don’t even bother to respond to what you said they just demand another reaction.
I think Kano is probably my favourite. He just feels it. He laughs he gets angry he gets sad. It’s all there.
I agree with you, Wretch and Akala were amazing too. I think the guy you forgot was the Wiley Westwood reaction. Also good but I don’t like the second part.
You are literally one of the first Americans iv ever watched to actually “get” UK grime , I have so much respect for you man , you constantly ask why these names (Kano, Wretch32) are not heard of? This is why, not many Americans can relate or understand it.... keep doing what your doing, the UK GRIME scene isn’t a genre of music , it’s a culture. Respect ✊🏻
"Im currently a Yardie but the bleaching is unusual" There was a trend in Jamaica of people bleaching their skin
You need to check up Dave streatham - black or psycho 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Kano was signed by Jay Z to ROCafella and opened for him at some of his shows. Kanos been around
Sooo refreshing to catch Americans reacting to garage/ grime artists that take the time to actually understand whats being sed 😂🔥❤
Ghetts fire in the booth part 2.
Lowkey part 2
The movement fire in the booth (Wretch, Ghetts, Mercston and Scorcher) They did their fitb on same day as the slaughterhouse (and merked them)
As a chef, I love the food references "Call my Nan for escovitch and fishes". Jamaican dish with raw fish & peppers marinated in vinegar and lime juice.
"Used to eat festivals and now I eat at festivals..." Festivals are savoury cornmeal fried dumplings, great with curry goat or jerk chicken - I put them on the menu whenever possible...
"Share some Duppy Share" it's a brand of Jamaican rum - reference to the vapours that evaporated into the sky over the rum distillers, known as the duppy's share as it's seen as an offering to the "Duppy", a mischievous spirit that brings bad luck. Same with Cognac in France, they call it the "Angel's share".
I’m so happy you did this
FINALLY... KANO IS THE BEST MC IN UK
Wiley Tim Westwood freestyle, one on th founders of grime. Him and kano had a rap battle back in day also worth a watch
He said "home sweet home was my off the wall but I had a thriller in me everybody warned" talking about his albums and in particular made in the manor (they were discussing it at the end) sick album I'm still bumping it now and anyone that doesn't think Kano is one of the best should go listen to it. 🔥💯
He also just dropped another fire album you should react to the short film called trouble which features a couple of tracks off there. Btw great effort dissecting as some of Ka's bars don't travel well.😎
You are rlly grinding with these daily releases yes I see u king lol
Look up Ps and Qs by Kano. All time grime classic
Smashed this bro, actually paying attention and not hyping up the one non relevant bar that you understood like some of these American reaction youtubers! Keep it up G
Loving reaction - he's a beautiful play on words
Yes rich bro, you finally did it💪💯
he said "call me a yardie, but the bleaching's unusual"
Hey Rich! Absolutely love your analysis and breakdowns of our UK fire rappers. Would love to see you do some more of the OGs of grime/UK rap like Lethal Bizzle, Doc Brown or Wiley. Doc's FITB came about 10 years after he quit the rap game but shows he still got it!
Keep up the hard work man! Love it!
I must say, through all the stuff you missed in this freestyle, you caught a good portion of it and certain parts I didn’t think you would. I’ve said many times that this freestyle is way too ‘London’ and full of slang to be totally comprehended by someone who isn’t in the London scene. Making references to Crazy Titch in this, a Grime legend who went to jail for murder just as he was about to blow up, research it. Kano epitomises the Grime scene but is way more than that, he’s a proper rapper. And to think he came through with Wretch as well as many others. They all shared mic with each other, it’s just now we see their individual brilliance.
Kano ft D Double E & Ghetts - Class of Deja (Maida Vale Live)
This is some of his latest work you should definitely check out, proper grime music
ONE MILLION, I SPRAY BARS WITH NO FRAGRANCE ! I love this bar so fucking much
Ye we have cctv on pretty much every single street in the country.
Berna - fire in the booth 🔥 🔥 💯 thats the one my man👍
Benjamin Hunter And his mad about bars
When he asked Me or Wretch, it was a bit tongue in cheek after Mic asking who is best Me, Bugzy, Kano or Wretch? Kano and Wretch are boys, it's just friendly banter. I think if you asked him seriously, for his top three I am guessing he would chose Wretch, Ghetts and Giggs (excluding himself), he even drops bars in this session about himself, Ghetts/Ghetto, Wretch and Giggs, referring to them as the legends. Personally I think Kano, Wretch and Ghetts are the best in this game (still active) in any order you put them and they are all close friends 💯🎤🔥👊👍 P.S. DSTRKT is a night club in London.
you forgot D Double
Charlie look well Jel Fam.
If you’ve got to pay to get in, I ain’t going in. I’ll stay at home and get blazed, thanks for the invite though 😂
Keep on grinding Doc. Love the channel 👍✌
kano seems like he not even trying. He is just having fun. His banter bars with GIGGS and ghetts makes me laugh
Giggs aka halo man
You know what doesn't get enough reaction videos? "Kano Performs "Teardrops" | Rated Awards 2020"
Bugzy Malone fire in the booth. Mic shouted him out in part 3
I really hope he reacts to that
Agreeeeeed
Chip - Behind Barz
Chip - 34 shots
Work ethic a 💯😤 always fuck wi the uk reaction, keep up the good work bro
Also Kano did this in one take, and Charlie tells us that most of these are not one take. Kano = Goat
Best reactor to our uk music. Does his best to understand the culture and bars
When he says teenager tell me bout grime, kiddo i lived it, hes talking about the genre of grime music which he was influential in pioneeering in the early 2000s
This the GOAT right here boy
Made in the manor. Best UK rap album of all time imo. Absolute fire.Edit. what you didn't hear was Charlie say "and that was one take" u know, admitting there all not one take. just take that into consideration.
When he says kids talking about grime kiddo i lived it he means grime as in the genre of music as kids tend to tell people what is and isn't grime music yet Kano was there from the birth of grime.
You missed the funny bit at the end where Charlie tells Kano most people have more that one take. That’s why he’s a boss, he was just passing through and dropped it perfect in one go
When hes talkkng about Grime kiddo I lived it. It's a play on words... talking about Grime the music KANO is a grime music high priest along with Wiley.
It's about time my guy 😁🔥🔥🔥🔥, check out his new album hoodies all summer 🔥🔥🔥👊
Damn bro you did 10x better than me on my first listen - and I’m from london 😂
DSTRKT is a high end club, actually found to have a racist door policy on the down low. Also, the MJ line is ‘call me a yardie but the bleaching’s unusual’
8mins.45sec..
Everybody shuffling on mandy (MDMA) I'm nacos (Pablo Netflix) I'm sippin on some brandy. Yoooo... big lyrics.
Kano on Logan Sama will get you hyped. It's a throwback to the old skool Grime
Berna.. Fire in the booth! Come on Rich!!!
Adore Kano The Don ov the Mike.. He's a Spectacular Soul...
Haha yes bro belter reaction much love
‘Problem wid the kid then that’s a problem in the making, ‘Pap pap pap pap pap’ and that’s a big understatement. It’s probably 9 shots.. lol. Like I say, I think Kano is one of the best all round MC’s out that. His skills are mad. The reason you have to listen again and again to catch bars is cos he spits them so unorthodox. He’s always been one of the leading UK rappers since he came out and he was established a couple of years before Wretch and Akala. Kano was tight since Nasty Krew way back in 2003 so he’s earned his stripes and keeps improving. Legend
Kano feat Ghetts and D Double E - Class Of Deja.
React to the BBC live performance. It’s a banger
You got 2 love kano 4 real he ain't just a actor fam one of the best if not 1
Wit that sauce thing, he's saying you should support the local. "home sweet home was my 'off the wall' but still i got a thriller in me - home sweet home was his first tape/album and he said hes got better then that !
Your a Very beautiful man cuZ trust Mi I welled up watching your related emotions in bare barz keep coming my G
Ayo rich! Watch Top Boy. It's a fictional Netflix show about the gangs in london. Kano stars in it and it's amazing
Crazy how this is the only Kano you’ve reviewed 😨
ruclips.net/video/Onafw36BMIo/видео.html
Run that 🔥🔥🔥🥶🥶🥶
Yo you should check out Wiley’s epic freestyle with Tim Westwood 🔥
I been saying this! 😂 ✌
Devlins fitb 2 🔥🔥🔥 another og
The uk is one of the most watched country regarding cctv there is a camera on almost every road in the country lol obviously not literally every road but enough
You need to watch Top Boy on Netflix, Kano is in it
That’s what he’s saying.. They spending 2K on a Club Table But got an IKEA kitchen
React to more Kano
This is England and 3 wheels up
#Realtalk appricate, great reaction dude 🤙
Yo man loving your channel and the uk reactions one of the best out there! If you like kano you should check out the tv show top boy kano is in it. Also react to big narstie fire in the booth 3 he needs to be on the surgeons table
Call me a yardie but the bleachings unusual (Jamaicans are not bleaching too)
Except Vybz Kartel of course!
london is alot of gooz they realy bwt that . i been london for 2 months and its crazy . and im from queens
What's gooz?
Heinz is the expensive baked beans grace is the cheap version
Saying stunting with Heinz but the bank account says they should be buying grace
The twins sleeping on his mattress is referring to a famous grime dj called twins
🔥🔥🔥🔥 reaction my G! Glad you got around to Kano. Now you have to check out Ghetts fitb 2 to complete the holy trinity! 😎♥️💛💚
Ocean wisdom fire in the booth
DISTRICK WAS A CLUB IN LODON THAT WOULDNT LET BLACK WOMEN IN
District is a night club
The money too pinkish line referring to £50 note (highest value not in the UK)
Grace- a Caribbean brand but also as in Grace at church
What you said about people covering there face, yeah the uk will definitely be more crowded than the US so naturally there will be more cameras to avoid. Granted some of the people will be goons, some will not, but I guess basically you will notice it more.
DSTRKT is a hi-end restaurant / club
In the Uk the judicial system is different so you can be guilty by association so wether some people actually are goons or not but are around them can get them caught up easily so many cover their faces for that reason ( not the only reason though ).
I think he said “akala youre yardie (jamaican) but the bleaching’s unusual”
Heinz is a sauce (condiment) among other things like baked beans etc, Defo check out Top Boy if you can in the US.
Ocean wisdom x dizzee rascal blessed
Heinz vs Grace. Grace is like a brand that black folk were buying.
Lovin MJ he means no disrespect
