It’s true. I was democrat. I awakened about two years ago, when something clicked. I was uneducated. I am a proud independent now and think I will forever stay this way. I don’t think I’ll ever back 100% of what one side does. That being said, I’m voting for the orange man.
I am an American citizen who was born in Mexico. When I was 7 years old and living in Mexico my parents, brothers and sisters legally immigrated to the US. We were all field workers picking produce in the hot sun in Yuma County Arizona for years. One day when we were taking a break from picking produce, I turned to my dad and asked him (In Spanish) why we had moved to the US. My dad told me in Spanish, "In Mexico if you are born poor, you are going to die poor. In the US if you are born poor, you can grow up to be anything you want, as long as you study and work hard."
I am retired now from a job that I always wanted as a child. I experienced and lived the American Dream. You were 100% right dad, rest in peace.

They do not realize how good they have it because they have not lived in another country as an average citizens of said country. Most Republicans want to hear why you disagree with them but also want you to be civil and discuss rationally.
I'm right leaning, but the right is guilty of this too, I've seen so many channels just shitting on leftists as idiots, laughing at them obnoxiously, and that doesn't really make them want to listen, hell even Trump is guilty of this. I want to educate and get through to them, but it's hard when there are so many antagonizing and even gatekeeping them, we're supposed to be better then that. I married a Filipina 2 years ago and go there every 6 months. I got a rude awaking of how good we have it but as poor as her family is they still thank God for their blessings as I do now also 🙏🇺🇸❤️🇵🇭

She’s not lying because I’m abroad myself and every country I visit remind me of how great of a life I have as an American. People in other countries don’t care if you are black white brown yellow the moment they see you hold an American passport “ you are American.” Their action towards you is not from fear or hate, it’s from reverence. The last 4 years is drastically changing that from reverence to disappointment.

I don’t know about that, the Central Valley has changed a LOT in recent years. Tens of thousands of Bay Area natives who got priced out of the area by tech workers have moved an hour eastward, replacing the Valley’s more conservative residents who also moved eastward in search of affordable housing. Now you’ve got to drive to the foothills before you’ll find a reasonably red county.

As a Marine veteran I went to the Philippines, Korea, Thailand on deployment. And I saw first hand how a lot of people that are desperately poor and how they are trying to survive. And they are digging through garbage at the dump trying to find anything they can salvage whether to eat or scrap things to wear or sell. And it helped me to appreciate the things that we take for granted here. Are we perfect no but we're pretty damn good.

I was really young when my father was in the air force as a family (father, mother and kid brother) had the opportunity to live in Casablanca for three years made a great impression on my life even to this day.
Unfurnished apartment in 1960 meant 100% Unfurnished.
No cabinets, no closets we had to make them out of cardboard boxes.
The playgrounds didn't have grass but dirt and big rocks unlike America's playgrounds.
We were there from 1960-1963 fisrt time back in the United States it was strange to see the difference.

This was an excellent show. More people need to hear all of our red pill moments. Hate of any kind should never be a part of a persons life. Letting go of hate and loving each other with all of our faults. We are all human. My experiance during DJT first campaign created HUGE, UNREPARABLE Rifts between me and 2 beloved family members. Both 20 something females who considered themselves as "feminist". Conversations around the 2 opponents for President created INSTANT RAGE by them. Despite my listening to them, I was met with rage and put downs. They both made the decsion to block me and go 100% no contact. If they were to reach out to me at any time they would be welcomed with open arms.
American's are allowed-Encouraged- to have disscussion and difference of opinions and still love and be a part of each other's lives ❤

I've been to Switzerland it's considered one of the most beautiful spots on Earth, but I would never live there it just feels cramped and confined, few road opportunities to freely go about the country. you don't really drive your car there much, you ride trains everywhere.. It's really great you had an open mind and were willing and able to listen to what a conservative had to say and actually attempted to understand why they feel how they feel and believe what they believe. In my experience most leftists will not engage in any type of political discussion with someone that does not agree with them and will avoid any information that goes against their ideology I have a very close Democrat friend. We kind of have a policy of just avoiding political discussions all together. But the other day when I was pontificating about the difficulties of life he sarcastically said "well you know if Donald Trump gets into the presidency you'll never have to worry about anything" I just chuckled and asked him why he hates Donald Trump so much.. he said he's not going to get into it with me... even though he brought it up . He said it's not something we need to talk about . And at this point with the way that things are I decided it is something that we need to talk about. I said I really need to know where you stand and you will know where I stand . His response was that he already knows where I stand if I agree that Donald Trump would be a better president than Kamala Harris. At that point I understood he has been totally propagandized he gets all of his information from Rachel Maddow MSNBC and CNN, NBC all of the mainstream media. He does not watch podcast he does not get information from any Source that's not corporately controlled. We work together and have been through a lot over the last 15 years and I'd like to save the Friendship but I'm not sure what to do. Any suggestions? just in case you read this whole rambling comment LOL

I spent 20 and a half years in the military before I retired. I have been to twenty five different countries, worked with and associated with people from 12 additional countries during military training and exercises. In that time I learned alot about other countries, cultures and traditions as well. What alway struck my was hiw many of thise people I met overseas wantes to know more about the United States, wanted to compare their country to the U.S., and hiw many of them would have given an arm or leg for the chance to live in the United States.
