Nah the big difference in the Aniteez and Skzoo is that the Aniteez has more details and I can see that they added special facial features so we can tell the members easily. Mingi and Wooyoung's moles and then their different mouth and eye shapes. The colors are the only similarities, but Ateez's characters look like Animal crossing characters and Skzoo look more cartoon like. Antis are tripping as always.
P.S. I also wanted a parrot or pirate themed clothing or Halateez outfits. Maybe in the future. ❤
Isn't the animal representation for k-pop group members somehow partially connected to how k-pop stans on Twitter designate members when referring to their dialogues from live streams, shows, etc., like it helps to shorten the name and use just one character (emoji) instead of a full name? And these designated animals somehow fit their personalities or smth like that. I think I've seen this too many times on Twitter. Also, I am sure that ATEEZ themselves have compared each other to specific animals before. I even saw a RUclips video where they reacted to fan art, and they saw a drawing of themselves portrayed as animal characters in a dance pose from 'Guerrilla', and they seemed to be very aware of who's who, so it didn't come out of nowhere. I don't understand these accusations, honestly.
I'm still confused when did Mingi became a chicken instead of wolf/tiger, but yes, ATEEZ have referred to themselves as certain animals for a long time, like everyone knows that Yunho is the golden retriever, Yeosang is the maltese that wants to be a doberman and that Jongho is our baby bear (he even said that haribo bears are the same species as him, that's why he can't eat them).
Don't plushies from every group have the same style and animals, like dogs, cats, rabbits and chickens/ducklings, since in every group there is a person that is associated with this animal? I mean everything connected to k-pop was invented by one of the groups in the past, like photocards, lightsticks, ending fairies and so on, maybe we should just accept that this kind of plushies are the next k-pop's special trait?

@@fallenangel6419 I don’t know why Mingi’s character is a baby chicken either, but maybe it’s because it’s cute, just like him 😃 I agree with what you’ve said, everything becomes a trend at some point in k-pop, which everyone will follow sooner or later. A popular k-pop group can make a big revenue with such cute characters, since they can be used not only as plushies, so ofc, it’s a good idea to launch merch with them. People should stop making such a fuss about it
@@fallenangel6419i thought Mingi has became a little chicken for awhile now! Atiny always posting about Yungi as Snoopy and Woodstock/Pochacco and Pi-chans(those yellow girl chicks). Especially since bouncy era, Mingi dyed his hair into pink and-then it turns into rose gold/blonde, Hongjoong kept saying Mingi was like a little chick that just got a bath(meaning he always looks clean and cute in that short haircut ig)

@@SasakiRia I knew it was somehow connected with Mingi's yellow short hair! I just haven't thought about WET chicken😂His hair strands during that era really do resemble wet chicken feathers, I totally get why Hongjoong thought that way.
I guess it's just his duality problem: when he is serious or while performing he gives off wolf vibes, while when he is smiling or just being himself (and Ateez members see this side more often) you recall that he is an adorable fluff ball, just like chicken.
Thank you for helping me to realize that this whole thing with Mingi's being a chicken makes sense and didn't pop out of nowhere.

As a STAY, I think that STAYs shouldn’t take it to seriously.
Both Stray Kids and ATEEZ have been accused of copying each other for different things…that truthfully no group owns.
Plus they are great friends and it’s honestly just ridiculous for us STAYs and ATINYs to let our marriage-like fandoms let this type of thing get between us and what we have. 😉

I think people are taking the plagiarism accusation too far. The styles are similar, but I can easily distinguish the two from each other and the only ones who are going to get them confused is probably people who aren't fans and those aren't the people these will be marketed too. How many different idols have been called the squirrel of their group? I can think of three off the top of my head right now.

What gets me about these ‘couple items’ is: if you want to keep your relationship a secret, why would you get these things in the first place?, and then try to hide it later (POORLY!) Are they trying to be an open couple or not lol?

My tinfoil hat theory is that with him being an Arnault and her being a major brand ambassador for LVMH that maybe as long ad they never make it official to the public (until they know it's for sure a life commitment) that there won't be any rumors about her getting special treatment or if they break up it won't affect her business relationship with the company

Idols and normal citizens get relentless persecution campaigns for even slight connections to someone's fave, and no one would wish it on themselves, their partner, or their career, so anytime it's brought up as "proof" I assume it's fake because, why would they?

Instead tho, I think Ming’s expression looks a lot like Naori from MINIVE’s lil chick character. But, imo, I don’t think they’re copied. I thought mingi's was a duck at first. Apart from being the same animal (and seems koreans really like the chick mascots) their whole face is so different I didn't think of Felix's mascot at all. Actually Mingi's is the first one that I recognized the resemblance to the member.

Idols using animal character isn't new. Also, many animal character designs that are being used by kpop companies look very similar to ones being used in non kpop industries like sticker, illustration, etc. I don't really see the point of arguing at this point...

In my opinion, those Ateez characters have had meanings. I see similarities, but while I feel like some characters are currently used for marketing rather than telling stories, the Ateez characters, however, similar to BT21, represent the stories of each of the members. I have researched a bit about this, and it turns out that there are more so. For example, The chicken and dog represent Yunho and Mingi’s friendship

THEY ARE NOT COPIED all the animals asigned to each member was based on what animal they have called themselves for a long time now.
Aniteez has two dogs, two cats, a chick, a bear, aa squirrel and a bunny. Its not the exact same animals as skzoo. They don't look alike either because the style is indeed different. Lets start with the bunny. Dwaekki is a pig+rabbit but Seonghwa's one is purely a rabbit. Pink is a frequent color used for bunny plushies and is one of Seonghwa's fav colors. Mingi's chick and bokarri don't have the same shape at all. The dog looks close to puppy m cuz its supposed to be a golden retriever and that is how you draw chibi golden retrievers. Saw someone compare the squirrel to the quokka when they are not even the same animal💀

Aniteez are cute and represent the members perfectly, although I would love a Doberman for Yeosangie. If people would stop complaining and actually look at the details, you can see a clear difference. Mind you, the plushies aren’t even out yet, so why are people mad over a poster!?! Mingi was the one who came up with the Willy Wonka idea, it was for Arriba and they all looked like they had so much fun performing it. Not so serious stage for a not so serious song, which is one of the things I love about Ateez, perfect or not, they will always PERFORM and live as well! I hope they’ll come back to Canada too and many more new places!

I feel like this plays a big part in the plagrism talk becuz the artists themselves dont seem to be playing a role in the character design. like bt21 plushes are super distinctive and so are the cravity ones cuz the members themselves, i know for bts at least, seem to play role in their character design. I think the main issue is that these 4th gen plushes are not super distinctive to the group or their members as it feels like the company is making the designs or the characters and not letting the members of the group do it. like take txt they have a plush for the fandom and they literally said that they would have made it cuter if they know it would have been so liked.

Regarding the "perfection" thing, as an older k-pop fan that only recently got into it, I completely understand. It's weird coming from a more rock background, into this highly curated world but it's also kind of fun! And there are a few groups that do write and produce their own music and try to perform live as much as possible ((G)I-dle and Steay Kids fore example). If the netizens weren't so ruthless every time someone made a human mistake, maybe we'd have more groups like that. But when us over 30 year olds were kids, that kind of stuff didn't exist, so we're not used to it, whereas younger generations are. ❤

As a Staytiny (I ult the both of them), I feel terribly biased saying that I don't care. I mean, should I care? Like genuinely. Should I be bothered?? Tons of idols share representative animals, so yeah they'd be the same. And correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't BTS start the "representative plush" thing with BT21? I guess those weren't really animals. Maybe the Ateez staff/team whatever you wanna call it should've picked something else having to do with the representative animals. About a year ago, the same thing happened with IVE. They released representative plushies and they got a lot of hate for the similarity. Specifically for the chicken plush (which not only does it look like Felixs plush, but now on top of that there's mingis plush). Now the Yunho plush is eerily similar to Seungmin's plush, on top of the Yujin plush. I get why Stays would be upset, but I stan Ateez and IVE, two groups accused of stealing Stray Kids' idea. I just don't really care since I stan all three.
A plus side is that since I stan all three groups, I can collect three of the chickens/puppies and I can make them into a lil family or smt? YK? Just for funsies
I truly do think fans are taking this to heart (as they do with a lot of things) when they shouldn’t be. I mean I was excited when I saw the Ateez characters. I saw the similarities a bit, but I also stan stray kids so I see the skzoo’s a lot. If someone doesn’t, they wouldn’t really know. Plus, all the groups animals lowkey look the same atp. I could honestly not tell you the difference between the Itzy, Ive, and Blackpink (and yes indeed Blackpink has these now) characters considering they’re all very different groups. I think it’s just obsessive stans being obsessive stans.

B.A.P, and 2PM did it before BTS, and I'm sure there's others, but BTS are so popular, most people will likely associate the idea with them. I see BT21 merchandise all over the place, and I didn't even know until this video that 2PM had characters, and sold pushies...
But yeah, I don't think this is a big deal at all. It's not that deep. It's one of the things that some fans are going to make a huge deal out of. Some of the fans are young, but the internet in general is a mess for stans making a huge deal out of the smallest things.
Personally, I don't have much of an interest in these kind of cute representative characters or the merch. But even if I was into them are wouldn't get in my feelings about any similarities. Cute cartoon character designs like this are very simple, so it's not surprising that some look a bit like others.

I'm familiar with skzoo because I have a toxic stay sister and honestly I was so excited for aniteez (she's the one that sent it to me). I thought they were so cute and she was also excited. No, it was to say omg they copie skz. And you know some stays (not all ofc, a lot are fan of both) HATE to see Ateez succeed. The concept has always been there but toxic stays act like skz is the only group ever allowed to have cute mascots.

YOU may not be a romantic person and that's okay, but some people love being overly matching with their s/o. Initials on phone cases are tamed considering that people have kissing pictures as lockscreen. I too feel personally iffy about exact same couple outfits but initials on phone cases is cute while still being subtle.

Alot of the 2nd gen vs 4th gen discorse boils down to false authenticity.(Note I'm a 2nd gen & 3rd gen fan thats still here) I feel like 2nd gen did alot of work to look perfect but in a low-key way that it felt natural & authentic, ALOT of stars didn't talk about what happened behind the scene nor there wasn't as much content for it & when there was it cheery picked the good parts. Where as now a days Kpop is more of a often book, you know more then you should & you start to see cracks in the foundation so to speak. You can tell 4th gen is trying to be perfect when they are not perfect & I feel like older fans read that as being un-authentic cause we grew up on the false authenticity of 2nd/3rd gen. It's like there bubble popped now that they can see the cracks in the foundation.
The opener even says it herself that she feels like variety shows are more currated then before but when she/he goes in more depth on that, it's literally the same thing that idols have been doing on variety shows for YEARS. Not to mention how they say that actors are more open & interesting ect. I do think it has to do with age as well Kpop has always been aimed at teens and children your just old enough to notice that.

I also liked Blackpink's earlier dance practices. It is not like I don't like the newer ones. dance practice is PRACTICE. I think it is supposed to be fun and chill, laid-back. If members appear with full makeup and pretty outfits it has to be called a performance video.

FNAF aka Five Nights at Freddy’s is a horror game series (and now movie) that revolves around possessed animatronic characters from a family restaurant chain (think Chuck E Cheese back in the day or like the Disneyland Country Bears show but make them murderous). If you want to see what it looks like you can look up some old gameplay vids from Markiplier or look at the lore dive videos from The Game Theorists. There’s quite a few games in the series now and a LOT of confusing lore but it’s become a cultural staple in the gaming sphere.

honestly, aside from both being chibi style (which was done before and after stray kids) and an overlap of what, two animals? (skz don't have a monopoly over kpop animal representatives. come on now.) i'm simply not seeing the similarities that stays are trying to insist are there. like, the more pastel color palette, differently drawn eyes and mouths to reflect the ateez members' facial features, and noticeably standardized line weight (in comparison to skzoo), show that they're pretty clearly different and not copied. imo a lot of the stays making these bad faith comparisons are doing so because they are not super familiar with kpop outside of their favorite group- skz/skzoo is their only point of reference and that's why they're coming to these conclusions. throw in a contentious relationship between the fandoms, and boom, "plagiarism!!1!"

@@Multi_Stan148 hi! my argument was mainly that i disagree with the similarities that are being pointed out. i think aniteez is as distinctive from skzoo as they can be considering they're both fulfilling the exact same kpop merch niche- cute cartoon animals representing members of the groups. how far can you diverge from the staples of the chibi art style before you've alienated your target market, all for the sake of being "different" so that uninformed fans of other artists can draw unfair conclusions? however, i do agree with you that the plagiarism thing is more of a fringe opinion, i just wanted to acknowledge how these (what i assume are in good faith) comparisons are being twisted to fuel fan wars.

Stays constantly flirted with Chan during his lives, he would invite us to, critique some of the pick up lines and tell us if he’d heard them before or if he was impressed because they were brand new and talk about how he wanted to test them on someone - usually Felix lol. He also often played along, like if someone said, “Can you be my bf?” he would agree and then say let’s break up. Such good times, highly recommend watching his old lives for that alone.
Also, as a fellow 2nd gen stan, I agree that the surface-level perfection is too high in kpop now, like with visuals, styling and brand-deals. All the things I consider “perfection” - great stage presences, interesting vocals and actually enjoy performing instead of just doing the choreo the same every time and finding the camera - aren’t even a priority, let alone second or third place. Not to be a grandma, but it used to be hard to find other stans coz people were embarrassed to admit they liked the outlandish, sometimes tacky looking outfits and their unique music. Yet nowadays most people don’t even care about the music, since it resembles western music more than it ever has, and people are more drawn in by of the luxurious and unobtainable image of the artists and spend a lot more time buying clothes and makeup to resemble them than listening to songs and streaming music. No shade coz I love fashion, but if the artists can't sing or dance well, why would you want to look like them?
The problem with the plushies is not really the similarities but the lack of new ideas. Look at the Ham Byori for Moonbyul, its a cute little hamster with a star, its more "singular" and looks more to the artist than just a simple new piece of merch...

Calling someone a sasaeng depending on wether they have money or not is such a weird concept. Most idols put so much effort daily to interact with fans, both online (through weverse, bubble, tiktok, insta, twitter etc., youtube videos) as in person through concerts, fan meetings, fan-signs etc. Following them wether they take pictures or not is creepy and just not ok imo. If you're visiting let's say the company's building as a tourist and you happen to run into an idol, that's different (although if you do it repeatedly, maybe it leans towards being creepy...), but please just let these idols have their own privacy. They're still human so yes they sleep, eat, hang out with friends and whatnot. Because really they personally won't like you if you keep being a weirdo... they will just pretend to be ok with it all because they don't want to ruin their image and it's so sad...
On the topic of SKZOO vs Aniteez, I will say I saw the similarity between Mingi's and Felix's character, but calling it plagiarism goes a bit far. Most characters (regardless of which group) have some significance to the member. Like Wolfchan because Chan mentioned early on how he loves wolves, HanQuoakka because he looks like a quokka with his cheeks etc. and of course in Ateez Yeosang being a maltese, Yunho being a dog with his golden retriever energy and Jongho being a cute cuddly bear (that can also maul you and look very scary haha).
I am curious to see what they're gonna do with the characters though, I have 3 Skzoo dolls and I love them but they are so hard to get by and my wallet cannot justify buying so many stuffed animals xD
