I have an exemple I can think off. Back then, when NiziU debuted (JYP's japanese group) Miihi had some health problems prior debut. She had already been introduced because NiziU was formed with a survival show.
But they never stated that she "left", just that she had health problems. She still got a bit of screentime in the MV and could just not participate in dance or in promotions. Then she came back as a full member once she recovered.
It was never confusing, we all knew she was part of NiziU and was just on a sort of hiatus before debut. But of Ahyeon, it's so confusing...
That's right but there are also company differences, for example, on these types of things. I don't think JYP would lie if a member is leaving or something; they would tell the truth instead of making the situation so confusing, but over here, YG is known for its lies. YG knows that Ahyeon holds almost half of the fanbase, and if she left, the group would lose a lot of fans, so I think Ahyeon will not be joining the group afterwards, and YG saying she is going to join afterwards is because they wouldn't lose fans, and once they debut, create the hype, impress people with the songs, and have a stable fanbase, I think they would reveal about Ahyeon permanently leaving the group so they won't lose many fans. This is just my theory, because judging what they did and what marketing strategies they used with their groups, I think this is what they're going to do, but let's see.
YG also never stated that Ahyeon "left". The official statement doesn't sound confusing to me. She can't be part of the debut because of health reasons but will be able to return after recovery. Who knows what health reasons. Of course could all be just a marketing spin and the truth is something else. But that's pure speculation.
Ahyeon may need longer to recover that’s why YG has to debut Babymonster as 6 first to hide attention from Hyunsuk’s scandal. Ahyeon need times to rethink about her future and make decisions after that.

I remember the same thing happening with Yedam and Mashiho YG also, said their taking a hiatus due to health reasons, but they never came back and eventually left the group. I don't know, but I feel it's going to happen to Ahyeon too. Like YG said, ''She might rejoin later when she fully recovers.'' I feel like that's just to keep the fanbase, as Ahyeon holds almost half of the fan base of Babymonster, and even YG knows that Babymonster is going to lose a lot of popularity if Ahyeon leaves, so I think once Babymonster debuts, create a good hype, get a stable fanbase, and then YG would announce that Ahyeon is permanently leaving so that their popularity wouldn't be so damaged. Those pins are *so* easily lost in clothing, happens to every seamstress ever, there is no conspiracy, that’s literally just how sewing pins are. They’ll get anywhere and everywhere you don’t want them to be. Everyone saying this is clearly some malicious thing against her has clearly never worked with sewing pins before.
As a former fashion student: I have woken up with a needle in my bed........far more times than i'd like to admit LMAO I can totally understand a needle going unchecked, clothes that are HEAVILY altered also tend to be more fragile & precarious. Also, doctors LITERALLY forget tools in people sometimes so....
Omg I’m also a fashion student, I also left pins/ needles on the ground and my mom/teacher was always pointed at me and taught me to give attention to details and be organised, but needle on bed is so scary🫢! You should be careful!

As someone who works in fashion it makes me so sad & angry whenever I see kpop fans sometimes be sooo mean to stylists. They can’t predict every posibility out there, sometimes things just happen or sometimes genuine mistakes happen because guess what, we’re all human, the same way you can forgive and get over your precious idol doing something wrong, give the same kind of grace & understanding to the people that work with them too. Everybody’s just trying to do their job at the best of their capabilities, no stylist intentionally wants bad things to happen because their livelihood is on the line, like please think for a second.
Also, one thing stans forget is that groups have a creative director, the image of the group is controlled by the people above who approve everything. Stylists don’t just do things by themselves, they also have directions and requirements to meets and sometimes they can be very specific ( like having a moodboard ). So for example, next time you see your idol trip over, idk, their skirt, take in account that maybe during rehearsals nothing went wrong and the outfit was approved or maybe they were told to create looks using that specific trendy item and so on... There are many other possibilities to take in account before ALWAYS jumping to the most dramatic and evil ones... like is that how ya’ll live life? Everything happens with malice and the ‘everybody’s out to get me’ mentality? No wonder so many of you are so depressed & miserable when that’s the prespective ya’ll have on life. Break out of that vicious cycle and just give people some grace...

Last year i got a dress with a really big, full skirt. It had 4 pins in it… There was so much fabric they were practicaly invisible. I only realised they were there after i got scratches all over my legs. 💀
While this situation with Karina is bad, stuff like that happens, especially when there’s a lot of customisation and short deadlines involved. 🤷🏻♀️
At the end of the day we can only hope they learn and don’t repeat the same mistakes in the future (although i doubt it).
Yeah mistakes like that can happen, it is not the stylist’s fault. It is the one who made the clothing for not double checking, but even then it is understandable as the screw could be well hidden. They also have to make lot of clothes.
Sometimes clothes just break. I was literally at Purple Kiss last night and Chaein's shoe broke. The heel just flew right off. She kept going without hesitation and ran off when she had a chance and came back with either a new shoe or the heel was glued back on. I think shoes especially are more likely to break because of how much use they endure with dancing.
This is why they just need them to have shoes that are made for dancing.
The original logo is just so colourful and iconic, I feel like its criminal to not have it.

I think the Ahyeon situation from what I understand is that She wont be Debuting with BM but she'll still be in YG so she may Debut under YG, be it in a group or solo in the future.
YG has a tendency of shelfing trainees with high potential for long periods of time... only to waste them because they'll be too old to debut.

@@sIumps it depends, but usually the oldest members are in their very early 20s. If you think about the future 2ne1 members, they were like 1999-2000 liners and they missed out on blackpink (1995-1997) and Beamon (2002-2009). Half of them were trainees for 10 years before leaving so it says a lot. JYP also cut every trainee that was over 19 for itzy so being “too old” is definitely a thing in kpop

The official statement regarding Ahyeon sounds pretty clear to me: "Ahyeon, who was preparing to debut with BABYMONSTER, has decided to focus on her health and rest for the time being due to health reasons. This decision was made following careful discussion. We are sorry that we could not introduce Ahyeon as a member of BABYMONSTER, but this decision was made in consideration of the health of the artist. We will spare no support so that Ahyeon can fully recover and return in good health."
It means exactly what it says (as long as its the truth and not some marketing spin). She didn't get removed or left the group. She "just" won't debut with them at November 27th because of health reasons, but she will be able to "return" (to BABYMONSTER) after recovery. Your theory (Blackpink contract, YGs legal problems, debut already being delayed maybe because of the health issues) is not bad. I imagine, delaying the debut again would've been an even worse nightmare for YG than letting them debut with only 6 members. They NEED that debut right now. But YG won't give up on Ahyeon considering all the money they already invested into her training / marketing. She is one of the most popular members. So I have no doubt that there are very good reasons why she can't debut right now and that she will be able to rejoin BABYMONSTER when she recovers (assuming that health reasons wasn't just an excuse).

Why couldn't YG just choose to be normal and write "Ahyeon is taking a temporary leave/hiatus to focus on her health and will not be able to debut with her group on 11/27" 1. TEMPORARY, 2. HER GROUP. Those words confirm she is neither kicked out nor left the group/company. Normal people write like this to assure fans/stockholders. But YG purposely keeps it ambiguous to stir shit and get his company talked about. That's the wrong kind of marketing and is annoying af. I hope it backfires on them.

I've worked as a costumer in proffessional theatre, and I completely agree with you. It's part of our job to make sure the performers are safe and comfortable in their costumes, and if we leave a pin in a costume, or a costume breaks on stage, or they trip on a skirt thats not properly hemmed, etc, yes. It's 100% our fault and we should learn from the experience and do our best to make sure it doesn't happen again.
BUT. The performers should understand that accidents happen, no one's perfect. If a kpop idol forgets the choreography, there's a possibility that they trip someone else. Does that mean they should be fired? No, it means they made a mistake. To me it seems like Karina just has really bad luck.
These pins are also used to Pin paper with names or notes on clothes, so maybe they missed taking it out, you see this a lot at behind the scenes stuff from fashion shows

Ahyeon's hiatus might be attributed to mental health, considering her young age and the impact of the incident. If that’s the case, it’s based on when she feels okay to come back to the real and brutal world, and deal kpop bullies.

I agree that they may have waited for Ahyeon's health to improve but it wasn't getting any better so they just had to debut the girls before the end of the year, especially with how their stocks are tanking due to the uncertainty when it comes to Blackpink contract statue. I hope she does get to come back and join the group, but her health is top priority and she can take all the time she needs to come back. I wouldn't be surprised if the reason they don't mention if she will or will not come back is due to what happened with Yedam and Mashiho.
I believe it happened with Wonder Girls where Sunmi left the group and later came back for “I Feel You”. Same can be said for Rania as well where one of their members left and years later came back to the group for “Start A Fire” promotions.
Though I will say YG is definitely confusing because they never said she left the company but “left” the group yet said that it’s highly likely that she’ll join the group again after debut promo. It’s weird honestly

She isn’t coming back, I’m sorry to say it. It’s YG. The only reason they pushed the debut back was because she must of been apart of the MV and songs and after they part ways they had to go back and cut her out of the MV and have others sing her part in the songs.
I think Why it took 2 more months for Babymonster to debut is the songs Ahyeon vocals and parts would have needed to be removed and other members taking her parts if she can't be part of the debut Album they can't just use her vocals and not have her be a part of it. So Sad Ahyeon was my Bias and the reason I was interested in Babymonster now I am less Interested but Will still listen to them as Asa is another fav and she is still debuting.

You're so right that it's weird they wouldn't say hiatus. I don't think they actually used the word "leave" either, but I'm thinking the agency could very well know that Ahyeon won't be coming back but still try to keep pre-debut fans attached to and financially invested in the group at least until the other 6 officially debut.
The company were probably trying to pull off the same method of debut and disbandment they did with BLACKPINK and 2NE1 being 3 months apart, but the debut delay affected those plans. Frfr, if they announce it just before the new year like "December 31st is their last day as BLACKPINK members" I'll be surprised like 'gee it only took them that long', but it sure isn't happening during 1st-week BAEMON sales. I doubt even 2nd-week sales is soon enough for that kind of announcement just because they want to get as much profit as they can.
Ahyeon's official BAEMON departure announcement, if it's gonna happen, might be like late January/early February so the other 6 will have had at least 2 months of promotions under their belt. It's kinda like the other, where they could try to profit off the stringing-along as long as possible and delay the announcement in order to do so.

Ahyeon hadn't been reported to have left the YG tho. So the hope still resides. Maybe they're still not willing to risk it in the eyes of Black community, and evaluating the result of the news of her departure do determine whether the society is ready to let go her n-word usage, for which she said sorry afaik. Maybe she really has health issues. In both cases you can't really say 'hiatus', too, cause in my eyes hiatus is when you start doing something, than you take a long break, and that break is a hiatus. But when you haven't really start anything, the hiatus isn't really suited for the situation.
But if it isn't health, nor it's supposed to be postponement of her debut, then it's really a departure. And that is the worst. I'm so invested right now! I'm not the biggest fan of boycott thing, but boycott has helped Luna to gain their independence, boycott could help there too. Companies should know that they can't kick out beloved members just for the sake of good public image. They should know that kicking idols out isn't a good public image at all. Let's wait for their 'afterwards', but if their 'returns' turn out to be false, there're all reasons to consider boycotting. I get that boycott could and will hurt other girls. But with a little bit of sacrifice we could still make it OT7, think about it.
Regarding Ahyeon's story.... I think the statement and interpretation seems pretty straightforward. It sounds like Ahyeon won't be debuting with Babymonster. However, she hasn't left the company and so could potentially debut in the future; possibly either as a soloist or in a different group. That's my guess. As for why, who knows.
About Ahyeon - I think I understand why YG is pushing to debut BabyMonster now, without Ahyeon.
For Ahyeon this could be like a Red Velvet situation. I actually remember they debuted just before Jessica was forced to leave SNSD, so people thought SM debuted Red Velvet early to cover up the Jessica situation, but because SM didn't deem Yeri ready for debut, she ended up debuting later.
I'm guessing, instead of pushing back or delaying the debut again, YG needs to debut BabyMonster NOW. Again they're having troubles with their two biggest groups and moneymakers, BlackPink and BigBang (more specifically GD since the other members left, and that's all they have), and Ikon left not too long ago. So what does that leave them with?
• Sechs Kies, which they came to YG later.
• Winner, which is on haitus due to the members going into the military.
• AKMU, the only really super popular and working group, but they're more considered indie.
And • Treasure, which some say aren't as big powerhouses as other groups, especially this year.
Now that doesn't leave YG with much power or money, or groups in general, so I'm betting that YG is putting all their hopes and stalks into BabyMonster, and hoping that the group can somehow help or save the company... We'll see about that though.

It make sense that they get health issues in the preparation for their debut, like Christina from a2k who suffered a back injury in the end of the competition because of intense training, not all bodies are prepared for the amount of stress and physical exhaustion
I feel the rumors that only Rose renewed seems accurate. Why would the other members stay? Jennie was never properly protected by YG from the online bullying she encountered for years, Lisa has potential to achieve things worldwide (so does Jennie), so her value is worth more outside of YG, and Jisoo wants to be an actress and she should join a company that focuses on acting and will offer her more acting gigs.
That’s my thoughts too. I think right now they are negotiating with their new companies (or set up labels which could explain the delays better) with yg and we know how yg can be it’s crazyyy I hope the girls are alright and get what they are happy with

Probs each promotion/gig requires a temporary contract atm. This means no future planning can be done as a contract of multiple years is not reached. But each gig will have a mini contract that just covers it, the roles and responsibilities and the profit distribution. If rosé has already signed for a longer contract then her promotions will all be covered by the same contract which means that things can be organised further in advance and easier because there’s not a legal process before everything is done

With Karina's clothing. I've done dressmaking and tailoring courses, and you use a lot of needles to pin garments together. Especially when it comes to making sure that a garment is going to fit someone properly, you'll put a bunch of needles in it to show where you need to take it in. So I think it's unfortunately just one of those things. It's definitely not a good look, you would hope that the companies would check carefully, but it could be simply human error, maybe they were rushed, or it was just one needle and it was missed.

Something may have gone wrong or she maybe needs time healing hence the disappearance.
