Kpop dating rumours really are the most dumb. Like they are searching for the lamest clues on Instagram. People really shipped Winter and Jaehyun cause they said «Marry christmas» when half of the world said that. Are the dating half of the word now?
Haha, that whole G Eazy and Meg video was WILD. But I absolutely hate In kpop how idols literally can not interact with the opposite sex- it makes it more awkward than it needs to be. Heck, atp we barely get interactions from idols in different groups in general :/
It's even funnier when you realize people love looking for dating rumors but when an idol announces a gf/bf or a kid they lose their marbles.
Based on the clip shown, it seemed Heechul was trying to explain to the female host/guest that even though Chaehyun is skinny by normal standards, she is not considered skinny by idol standards. In other words, he was not criticizing her himself, but explaining why others were criticizing her.

The Heechul controversy is straight dumb. He didn't bring up the topic. The topic of her weight came up and he simply gave context to Chaehyun's struggles; explaining why she experienced what she experienced, to those who might not understand or lack their lived experience. If anything, it was the other, non-idol who - mostly out of ignorance and good intentions - was minimising Chaehyun's pressures about her weight by telling her that she's already skinny - i.e. essentially telling her that she's wrong for having those insecurities without actually understanding where those insecurities were arising from.

The Heechul comment one is really annoying to me because people are definitely purposely misunderstanding what he's saying. The translation being wrong definitely doesn't help tho
I definitely think ppl are hating on Heechul because it's him who said it and he's a super senior member. He's actively criticising the beauty standard and participating in a conversation that's already happening, if it would have been any other male idol people would drool and say things like "he's so smart/he's so caring", plus they are purposely ignoring how Chae not only doesn't look offended by what he said, she's literally agreeing with him. Of course Heechul has some questionable moments (specially his Japanese fetish and dating Momo) but I don't know why people ignore how many, and I say this as someone who only encounters these statements by accident, many female idols have said that he's someone they feel safe with, I've seen at least 7 or 8 girlies not only say they like him but actually speak on his good manners and how supportive he is as a friend.
One thing tho how is he dating Momo a questionable thing?? Despite the age gap they were both legal adults. and what do u mean by japanese fetish?? He's an anime fan and just because he dated a japanese woman doesn't make him a fetish
@@JaysTae3534some of his comments are questionable at best, and the Momo thing... Well I, and I wish society, look down upon 30 yos trying to date 20 yos specially when the age gap is 13 years and they met when the younger part was still in their teens. Legal doesn't mean morally ok. In Korea there's clearly a lot more acceptance when it comes to age gaps like this one but the power difference is too big for me to be comfortable, especially when he's her senior in the industry too. And that's not to mention the difference in their stages of pre frontal cortex development, I can give you some sources if you'd like to check that out.

Honestly in these dating rumors the real question is why would these idols even hint at being a couple ??? Like the kpop industry is very strict about this why the hell would they risque their jobs to tell everyone they're dating 💀💀

About the Heechul's one, here's a thing, the case didn't even made a buzz in Korea while it made a buzz international. So it's so obvious that this is all mistranslation.
And why couldn't he comment about idol's beauty standard when she brought the topic first? Just because he's male, he can't make a comment about it? And because he's 19 years older than her, he's creepy? He's been in the industry way long than most of yall been born and have more female friends than yall, he can say whatever he wants. He, along with other suju members has been through a lot, anything that can happen to a kpop group, so they deserve to have a say about the industry.

I very much believe that many of the cases of idols performing when injured, weren't something they were forced into. The amount of dancers, not even professional ones, ones that just do dance, that will still push through different kinds of injuries, even if it is risking their health and future carrier in dance, is so big. Not practicing, performing, just dancing, is such a shitty feeling

Kpop in 2020-2021 was so much more fun imp for international fans. Comeback shows were so much better (take Enhypens tamed tashed comeback show for example with mnet) they had subtitles too and it was just imp better. Now it's just them performing the new songs at the venue and giving an interview and playing one or two games and most of the time it's not even recorded/livestreamed (if it there's no subtitle). I'm glad groups can perform in front of fans now and you can see them being more happy too but I feel like since the end of lockdown international fans are sometimes getting less
I feel like kpop regressed starting from 2022. Before we had different kpop groups making different music, but now everyone follows trends and make generic Tiktok friendly music. Also there is extreme oversaturation of groups now. Every day a new kpop group debuts.

I agree with you when it comes to having their own agencies, they can control their solo activities and group activities which wouldn't be possible if they are going to sign their individuals contracts with already established companies....

That's true but it depends if the other girls want to set up their own agency, since that's a lot of work. Sometimes, it might be easier to sign with another company that will handle the administrative stuff. But we'll see of course.

Hi, Happy New Year. I have been a silent viewer for a bit. But I do love your dating rumor segment, because I feel like it goes perfectly in line with how delusional you can be with k-pop news (absolutely no offence because what is a fandom if not a lot of delulu), yet fully acknowledge how delusional everything in kpop fandom in!! I feel like its so much fun to laugh at ourselves.
So... Heechul is being dragged for defending Chaehyun's feelings, but not the people who brought up her weight in the first place? This is why people need to stop watching out-of-context clips and watch the entire conversation/segment/show. I don't disagree with Heechul, but I believe that this was not a conversation the group should have been having in the first place.
ALSO! Why does age have to come into this conversation? This more than anything pisses me off these days. Why can't a man in his 40s comment on a 20yo's body? Does he not have eyes? Is it okay if it's a 40yo woman? Another 20yo man? As long as the comment isn't sleezy or lecherous, why does the age matter? This is like saying a 40yo has no reason to talk to a 20yo. There are tons of topics the two can discuss, there is so much to _learn,_ but because there's the slight possibility the elder can be a predator, we all just shouldn't talk to anyone more than 5 years older/younger than ourselves? Im early this time🤭 i honestly cant take any dating rumor seriously anymore, if idols breathe near each other then the get shipped, its just getting annoying atp
I feel that it is obvious that you find dating rumors ridiculous. I thought we were all laughing together??? lol I also like that your channel is a lighthearted way of calling out the odd things that happen in Kpop.
So I didn’t really start getting into kpop until 2019 and I think the pandemic drove me further in for sure but it’s such a bittersweet memory lol like it’s hard for me to hear bts “on” without being transported right back there, also I feel bad for all the groups that couldn’t weather it and had to disband and all the events and comebacks that were missed or messed up because of someone catching covid. However it was a unique opportunity to get into kpop from afar through online concerts etc. and I was so grateful to have so many things happening online I could use to escape my dull shut-in life. However I eventually got a little burned out watching so many music shows all the time and I was so happy when I actually started to get to see some of these groups in concert finally! To me live concerts really are unreplaceable even if online concerts are fun too so I wouldn’t want to go back but I recognize I have it real good living in a major city that many groups come to without me having to travel and so for someone living in a more remote place, the heyday of online concerts was ideal.

Dating rumors are kinda silly, but they're also a step-up from fans acting like no one in kpop can date coz they’re all the fans’ property, so I’ll take it. And since no one asked, my favourite kpop moment of 2023 has to be the KODE interview with Red Velvet’s Joy and Billlie member Tsuki. They were hidden from each other and communicated solely by text without knowing who they were texting until the end. Once they saw each other, Tsuki ran from the room screaming lol pretty unforgettable

At this point, who's left in YG? AKMU, Treasure, Babymonster and Winner right? I guess Blackpink whenever they have a comeback every two years.
Maybe the manager heard it and said for Mingyu to end it seeing his reaction. I think they should be allowed to hang up and discourage this kind of behaviour. People who behave like this aren’t Carats, we don’t claim them. They’re disrespecting the members and don’t deserve to be considered part of the fandom.
I think you're fine on the dating rumors. People are likely to hear about them either way so taking the time to present rumors _as rumors_ and pick apart how silly and baseless they are - it does more good than anything.
I only trust u with dating news when it’s about kpop idols. Those hate comments are people who can’t seem to regulate their emotions enough to give constructive criticism tbh. Also since u do time stamps people can literally skip if they don’t want to here about it haha

Hey! I really enjoy the dating rumor segment (and being delulu of course). I like to hear what's going on in people's head, I don't have much time and energy to surf on the internet. Personally, watching your videos are like chatting with a bestie, so I love listening to your videos, and of course, being a little silly

Ok, I’m sorry, but the comments I’m seeing about Heechul are taking it a bit too far. I understand if you don’t like Super Junior or something a member said, but if you read the sentence with common sense, this is not hate. The wording could have been different, but he was explaining it to a host and did not bring it up if people watched the video instead of a clip or saw comments and wanted to join the hate train. There are men out here being disrespectful to women, and fans defend them. This issue is ridiculous because if it came from a female, it’s not bad. Heechul is friends with female idols and wrote a book about their lives not from his perspective but by asking as many female idols as possible to help make the book helpful and understand how they feel. And before any comment about why a female shouldn’t have done it, like if it was any place else, people wouldn’t care like you can look up females writing books about male stories. Genders making books not from their perspective but the gender in the book is not strange because I know some people comment without checking. If you want to hate because you genuinely don’t understand his wording or were offended, a male with some age gap said something for the host to understand about why someone holds weight insecurities. Please give me a good reason. Also, did the people hating or leaving criticism or personal opinions watch the whole video to see if reactions were uncomfortable with his comments?

My guess is that we'll probably get the same amount of comebacks as we're currently getting. Now that the girls aren't under YG for individual contracts, they're going to take full advantage of that.
