The woosan tattoo situation was blown out of proportion. The host was teasing them and San and wooyoung were laughing. I personally would not get a tattoo even with my closest friends, but I respect their friendship and I believe in it ❤
I think it’s cause whenever woosan gets mentioned by non atinys it’s usually negative (at least whenever I go online and see the posts) so it’s a bit understandable that atinys would react the way they did. I’ll admit I was looking at the guy sideways until I went and watched the whole video

I would definitely get a matching tattoo with my best friend but we’ve been friends since we were 8 and I’m in my 20s now
San and Woo are best friends and probably consider each other as brothers. My sister and I have matching tattoos. It’s my only one and she has multiple. It’s more than just romantic relationships that get matching tattoos. People forget that family members do it all the time. It’s nothing to be weirded out by.
Also even if it is romantic, it still shouldn't be considered weird. We don't actually know what their relationship is like, but it's also not our business. Not like they could be openly gay anyway and if they're only friends, gay rumours can make their friendship awkward.

The tattoo thing is really taken way too seriously honestly, people are gonna question you for ANY tattoo, they're literally uncommon in the first place (in SK anyway) and as you said, the process of removing them is not nice... Plus, people forget that not everyone is from the same generation, they see things differently, and asking questions doesn't hurt nobody!
I was thinking about the whole friendship tattoo and how lovely it is that members or whole group have a tattoo together. I think that even if it doesn't last it's something to remember. Took me a couple of minutes to remember that I also have a friendship tattoo hahaha I only have one tattoo and I have never regretted it being a friendship tattoo because no matter what will happen it will remember me of an awesome time we had

Same with actors. The 9 main cast of LOTR had 9 in Elvish tattooed on them when filming wrapped though John Rhys-Davies (Gimili) got his stunt double to get it for him. This was about 20 to 25 years ago. Also, most of the Avengers did something similar.

people who criticized kangnam's reaction should just watch the actual video for it's entirety. woosan had lots of fun and were big fans of kangnam and his wife. they even agreed to get dinner together and keep in touch at the end. plus if san was uncomfy with kangnam's reaction then he wouldn't just outright say "it's romantic isn't it!" like a few seconds later while smiling.
and actually san talked about how he would never regret it but discouraged people from getting matching tattoos!

I agree; labeling kangnam as homophobic seems too much. I honestly think it's an irrational mistake on his part. if he had been more careful he might have recognized the sensitivity of certain topics, especially for idols who need to uphold an image. if wooyoung and san are just platonic friends this might lead them to be more cautious about how their friendship is perceived on camera, and if they are lowkey in a romantic relationship (which is possible), they could understandably feel a bit uneasy about the suspicions in fear of being outed. idols who get exposed for being in straight relationships already get so much backlash, imagine a gay one..
I just love WooSan friendship, they are so cute and really take care of each beautifully ❤️
for twinzy, i feel like a ryujin+yuna subunit would make a lot of sense since both of their surnames are shin! otherwise a (twi)ce+(n)mixx+it(zy) collab would be really fun!!

the woosan tattoo thing i think was blown a bit out of proportion in some circles! I agree that when people say it's weird for them to have the tattoos it comes off as homophobic, but I also think that san and wooyoung have probably dealt with that reaction enough times to be immune to it. the two of them seem careful/thoughtful about it and they handled it well! i think also we should consider that the host did put them on the spot, for the public to see, asking an invasive question. I can imagine that would be uncomfortable

I find it funny that people are amused that NCT can do their engagements, go clubbing, and arrive to the airport on time. This is pretty much what many uni students do! They go to school, attend their extra curriculars/hobbies, go to work, study, then go let loose, and get ready to attend morning classes. My routine was cheer practice, attend classes, study, work, workout, hobbies, then clubbing until 3am, and get some sleep to start all over at 5am.
The clip is only a couple of secs long, but WooSan was really comfy with Kangnam through out the entire episode

It is a variety staple to give reactions 😅😂 I enjoyed watching the whole episode. I think Wooyoung does well in variety shows - he reads the room & goes with the flow AND gives great reactions 😄 (i still find myself laughing at him gasping at jaejoong's age reveal in the jaefriends episode) San too does very well in variety. I rewatch that RM episode with him every once in a while (my family loves RM). He got along so well w the members n guests.

You're absolutely assuming with what san meant by that.
San just said it's romantic, you're putting words in his mouth by saying he meant [...]. We don't know how he meant it, all we know is he literally said "it's romantic, isn't it?" and the only ones who know exactly what he meant are him and Wooyoung, so we shouldn't assume it's a friendship or something else
I don't think most PPL understand that even remotely identifying or doing thing related to lqbtqia+ community can be followed by alot of backlash and most people in conservative countries don't support it and even if they do they don't want to show it on national television as they could lose their jobs. It is very common in conservative Asian countries to make jokes at the expense of the community which really sucks. You can't change people's mindset that easily unfortunately. I live in a conservative Asian country so ik for a fact that this is really common and would be seen as a "joke" by the viewers
I watched Kangnami when he was still a new newbie in ent. industry. He’s a very honest and a straightforward person. So when he doesn’t know things or when he’s learning something, he will say it directly (without cover). My guess in this situation is that he’s not familiar with friendship tattoo. And he’s thinking is it possible to do so? He might seem rude but actually it’s not the case. People misunderstand him quite a lot and he said it himself. Other than that, he treated Wooyoung and San comfortably throughout the show and they have good chemistry. I don’t know about others, but for me it looks like a curious person rather than hate or dislike.
Exactly! I swear these days people take everything out of context. If they'd watched the entire show it's a completely different vibe. The dudes was unaware, that's fine, now he knows. Probably no one in his group was that tight knit. Then yeah that's weird for him. Every ounce of positivity just gets sucked out by Twitter freaks.

With Somi's tweet, I'm torn. One one hand, I immediately got the sarcasm and I don't think she hates her fellow label groups (she's friends with Jihoon from Treasure and loves 2NE1), however I think it was irresponsible of her. Why out of all the positive comments about her she responds to this comment? Look at her account she never responds, yet for that one? Furthermore, most of the groups mentioned were her seniors and you know how Koreans take the age hierachy very seriously. Thirdly, she basically made that hate tweet valid, and fed into the hate train that has been going for a lot of these groups (especially Bigbang and Treasure) which is not ok. Obviously she realised she made a mistake and deleted the tweet, but what about the repercussion of her careless actions? The multiple fanwars and hate comments people are sending each other? Her getting no accountability leaves a slightly bitter taste in my mouth, as if I knew it was a Treasure member or Bang Chan responding in the same way, people would have torn them apart. The double-standards are real here.
@@mikylejoubert8347 It's not even really about HERSELF imo, but more about how easily she could've avoided several consequences of her reply such as the intensifying hate train against Treasure/bg/YG male artists, unintended or simply misinterpreted shade towards the mentioned artists, fanwars etc.
Say whatever but taking in consideration how toxic and intense the kpop community is, being yourself without filter could be done without involving any other names to avoid further misunderstandings ig.

K-Pop NEEDS More Subunits
In my opinion, as an idol Somi shouldn’t have replied to that tweet. It’s like the Bangchan situation. It’s not the idols fault their fans are crazy, but they are, so for the sake of other idols and groups they need to be careful of what they say.
I found her tweet funny, and it was obviously sarcasm, but I still hold the opinion that she shouldn’t have replied to a tweet like that.

Then a bunch of his fans and a bunch of haters of certain groups went and started attacking these groups. It escalated a lot, that’s when Chan’s room got taken away. So ppl were talking abt how he should have known that it would happen if he said something like that. Idk, he was careful not to name any groups, and I don’t really blame him. But still, that’s why idols need to be immensely careful what they say. That’s all I meant

it was always nice that sm came up with something new in kpop since first gen and that was exclusive for them but others especially jyp keeps following 🥲 they fr cant have anything for them.. from bubble to beyond live jyp even uses SMs beat switch style and their hybrid songs (mixing 2 bsides into 1 tt) those are big characteristics of SMP is it that hard to create ur own style? now they look up their supergroup concept which was also an SM unique thing i fear jyps gonna look up SMs trademark the SMinis as well sadly starship already did with ive and just renamed. SM fr cant have things for themselves.. called trendsetter company, flower garden of kpop and vocal powerhouse since first gen now for a reason

The Wonbin and NingNing situation really annoys me because the fans who made these TikToks are the first ones to say ‘why don’t idols just have fun and relax during awards shows?!’

were the vibes from the host a little odd when woosan talked about their tattoo? maybe. but honestly it seemed lighthearted and in good faith, and i feel that we don't have to make a mountain out of a molehill when we don't have full cultural, linguistic, and social context for the (very) short clip that people are criticizing.

I think she probably deleted it quickly after realising that the tone could be interpreted in different ways.

As you said out of all the tweets she can respond to she picked this?! She wasn't even tagged in the first place! It's a bit ungrateful in my opinon, when she always associated her self with BIGBANG and 2NE1, even her career in the beginning was saved by those said fandoms. Like even TREASURE fans were so supportive towards her music just cause she's from the same company. Seeking validation from miserable twitter/X stans was a bit cheap ngl....
if the idols are on the street, or the club, or the gym, I don't think people should film/photograph and then post it online without permission. I think nobody has the right to filme other people and post it without their permission

My favorite subunit is EXO CBX followed by DoJaeJung….3Racha would make a great subunit in addition to being a set of producers. A JYP male supergroup with Rain, members of 2pm and Stray Kids and the new group (Tomoya, Haru, Yu especially) would be fire.

@@moluccensisinterestingly, in France we have a thing called "le droit à l'image" and even if you're in a public setting, it's illegal to disseminate a pic/video of you if you're recognisable and singled out/"individualised" (ie you going viral for dancing a certain way in a public space) and not just like part of the crowd. There are some limitations (right to information, freedom of expression) etc but still. I don't think it exists in a lot of other places though

Personally I would want the sub unit to be Jihyo, Nayeon, Sana, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, Lily, and Kyujin, but realistically I think it would be Nayeon, Momo, Daehyun, Yeji, Yuna, Lily, Sullyhoon, and Kyujin
my father had tattoos and when I was young, I asked once if he'd get my name tattooed and he said no and explained to me, that he loves me but relationships can change and he always tried to do things he won't regret. So now I'm here, a few months after his death, thinking about a tattoo idea to get in honor of my father. I know now what our relationship was like, and it stayed perfect, so I can't regret getting a tattoo that stands for him and my mom said he would be proud of me, following the "advise" he gave me like 20 years ago :)
Don't get couple tattoos guys - especially names, but nobody can judge you for getting a tattoo that symbolises something personal :D

My fave subunit isn't in the big 3 (4). Its was the subunit of JinJin and Rocky. Sadly that subunit isn't possible anymore with Rocky's departure from Astro and Fantagio. I don't find it weird at all. Look at the 7 tattoos that other group got (yes I am not naming them on purpose). I mean come on, its not weird at all. Why can girls get matching or themed friendship tattoos but guys can't. Let's keep the same energy for both genders because its only fair to normalize both genders norms. We also need to let idols have their down time, leave them alone when they go out and have fun. They are people too and deserve to have that down time and enjoy themselves. A lot of clubs I've been to don't like people filming or taking pictures while in the club, so I think it comes down to what are the laws in the country and the rules of the club really on the filming or picture taking inside clubs or out and about. But I am really against the harassment of idols and famous people in general. Just let them be and have their fun. Maybe she is his ideal type, who wouldn't give her glances, she is beautiful. We need to remember that all these idols have a lot of activity going on then adding award shows on top their already jammed pack schedules where they have to sit for hours. i found somi's tweet to be obviously sarcastic and really funny, but unfortunately it was a bad move on her part due to the nature of the industry and the fandom culture. i don't see anything wrong with what she said, but i can recognize from a pr perspective why that action was rash and would receive backlash.

Loved the Girl's Day quote! To me tattoos are a permanent fix to a temporary want. Since most people seem to wear them as some sort of adornment I'd say just change your sweater or whatever. I think for nct 127's case, it seems like their management and/or the promoter for the fan sign escorted them so they can go clubbing "safely". the promoter might had some deal with the club or something like that. so I think that's why they seem like they're being okay getting filmed inside.

I choose everyone based off who would sound good together. Sana and Yuna voices are similarish? Idk I think they would be good together. Chaer aswell she has a soft singing voice too. Jeongyeon, Haewon and Jihyo voices will mix well. kyu and ryu dancing skills and rap tones are great. Bae just to spice things up. Add some uniqueness

nct 127 clubbing was the thing of this month. and i am glad everybody are on their side because they really deserved it. they can have fun and chill sometimes . let them feel free , maybe only few hours but still . i hope nctzens and others will be more understanding fans next time
A friend of mine has a friendship tattoo with her childhood bestie. Two very straight women, one of whom is happily married. It's probably better that I forgot to comment on this when this was new, and I was thinking I wouldn't bother, but seeing all the top comments say "it was blown out of proportions" has me willing to say that those people are downplaying the odd overreaction from the MC at the thought of two men having such a close bond, regardless of whatever it may be, and does give a trace of bigoted/homophobic vibes.
It's like when poc people experience non overt types of racism. A hard exchange to put into words that people who haven't experience that type of hate will understand, because the idea that bigotry "looks a certain way" and that "it's easy to pick up on". When in reality the more typical bigotry one would encounter would usually be a type of "you know hate/bigotry/racism/homophobia when you experience it enough to pick up on the subtleties later on"; it's not always a 1:1 across those types of hate, but you get a sense of the speech and tactics used to put minorities down. Which we see the MC do when hearing about the shared tattoo between these two.
We all know the conservative issues in Korea can be reflected in way it's residents approach topics, as seen by the MC having that reaction to a permanent mark on two men connecting each other and their friendship. So to me it's not really that far out of reach to be put off by the reaction of the MC or by the "blown out of proportion by certain crowds in kpop" at the top of the comments.
The fandom represents the industry which represents where it's based from.

Just wanted to do a quick correction on the black label. It is not a subsidiary of YG. They are minority shareholder of the black label. They own 21%. So think the Pokémon company and Nintendo. The Pokémon company isn’t owned by Nintendo the Nintendo I believe still has a 33% state in the company. It still it’s separate entity. But I believe the black label office is in the YG building. And obviously there’s a lot of overlap because of Teddy. But it is its own separate company. It’s not a subsidy of YGz
