    You're a great player, man. Very impressive. I used to be able to play some of their earlier stuff, but didn't have the speed to play the later material. I had a stroke a few years ago, and have had to modify my playing style...it sucks, but I can still play and sing well enough to get paid, so I feel very fortunate :)...
    Going to check out more of your vids, keep up the good work!

    Are you leading middle finger on the main line from g to d? So playing it MIM for a triplet effect? Because my fingers are naturally wanting to do different things each time, so I figure if i ask and get a consistent thing down similar to how your playing itll make the technique flow better. Thanks in advance!

    Great Playing! I also play Geddys songs.
    But I also Sing and play Geddy. Been doing it since 1980. But, After All these years. I still never understood the middle run. Could you make a video with just the 3 runs. The rest I figured out. When Moving Pictures came out. Thanks

    Wow, Tim!! I'm just amazed at your bass playing!! It's so joyful and effortless! The Ged pedal sounds fantastic as well.     Hi, where did you get the pedal from, I cant find it anywhere? Inside person at Tech 21? All of your videos are executed brilliantly, and the tone (Right hand) is spot on. I even purchased YYNOT album on Apple music. I have the streaming thing, but wanted to support you all in your wonderful endeavors. Keep up the phenomenal work, you and the group are killing it!!!

    Dude, no fair! It took me about a year to learn Red Barchetta, which isn't nearly as hard as YYZ, and you are are just sitting there toying with it! Not only are you nailing all the main parts, but you are also playfully toying around with your own improvisations. Super impressed and I had to subscribe.... but I sure wish I could play like you. I guess God doesn't bestow talent to everyone equally. 😂

    Good playing. Try to mute the strings by anchoring thumb on E and A string as you play D and G strings. It's also much easier to play D/ G string as your fingers won't be outstretched due to you anchoring thumb so far away on the pickup/ E string. This is a classical guitar technique. It's also one Geddy uses!

    JIMMINY CRICKETS!!!! Basically this pedal is what the rackmount "should" have been. Great work, great tone!
    Hmmm.. I wonder how the Vintage Microtubes would stand up to the Ged Pedal? It too has a blend knob.

    Thanks, the fact that you so obviously enjoy playing bass inspires me to come back and get the tricky (for me) second solo of this track under my fingers! The rest I can play, but that solo has always eluded me, I can play the notes but not the rhythm! Incidentally I'm intrigued as to how you leave that room - is there another door?

    Amazing. Truly awesome player. Do you know what mids are set at on this? I have a Para driver and wondered if it was worth getting this pedal also. Geddy Lee bass drive is about the only distorted bass sound I like.

      @@secretjourney4815 the bass solo fills in the studio YYZ were recorded separately and dubbed in later. Maybe he wanted to make sure he didn't flub one and then have to re record the whole song again

      Well, making a review at home, even at a professional level like Tim is doing, isn’t the same as making an album in an expensive studio unless that studio is your own.
      You need to use the time wisely and as cost efficient as possible. :)

    I learned this when touring stopped due to Covid (took a while haha) and the only part that’s still got me is counting the spaces between those unison runs after the intro riff... I can’t seem to find any straight count that works! I can hit it... but i have no idea what they are counting. AMAZING playing Tim! You’re def the cleanest I’ve heard do this by far. Bravo! 👏

      Thanks! That run has a "feel" timing and eye contact is a must live. Btw, Ged and Alex play different notes during that part.

    I do believe you have played this once or twice. I think I use to call myself a bass player. lol Great job Tim you make this look easy and its not. I am a fan of a much brighter clean piano string bass sound. I have been with Warwick and S.I.T strings for over 28 years now. I change my strings every show and I have for years.I love your tone and finger picking. That SamsAmp is kicking ass.       @@TimStarace thankyou so it's a signiture model minus the signiture pickups , &pots, so you have to buy and fit them your self, so basically it's just a cheaper Fender Bass from walmart "marvelous"

      @@stephenfell4338 Not at all. Tom makes specific pickups for Geddy as does Fender. Working with Geddy, I can assure you NOTHING with his name on it is less than steller! The Fender Geddy Lee Signature Jazz Bass is awesome sounding and playing bass right out of the box. Adding Toms pups brings another awesome option into the equation. As any versatile, creative artist does, he has more than one color on his palette.
      I'll also add that the GLJB is the best bang for your buck Jazz Bass out there.
