This is a bass play through so the video is meant to highlight the bass sound. If this was the actual album for listening experience it would be miserable to have the bass this loud lol.
I've listened to quite a lot of flashy and admittedly technically good bass players but... Sir, you have it where it counts!... I know these songs every note and you really, really take the accuracy of the lines and the expression to the next level. Bravo!
The way you play, It is almost like Geddy, in my opinion here,!!! economy playing, do what is necessary to make the sound, so many players i watch, they try to play on the perfect finger position of every note, You Sir, TIM,.. make the sound PERFECTLY, i love your style, flashy flying fingers are as not necessary, it is a great matter of economics, done so very well,..You have perfected the masters great sound,.
In the future this is going to get millions of hits and this is totally epic thanks for doing this it really shows how it was done and it's so clear to hear to
Dude this is one of the most killer bass tones I've ever heard, this is honestly my dream sound I've been chasing for a long time. I'm gonna pick up this pedal 😁
Found your videos through Tech 21 demos. I’ve been a professional bassist for a long time now and you’re my favorite bassist to watch/listen to on the internet. Your playing really is wonderful!! Rookie question; how do you get the original basslines out of the recordings to play along to?? Just notch EQing as best you can?? Anyway, thanks for sharing your gift brother :)
This is just one of several comments, but, I must agree with every comment I have read down below. All these people making comments are saying what I would like to say to you as well! Now, I need to get back to the woodshed! You inspire me, Sir.
Awesome playing, as always Tim. But I'd recommand playing that tune with the bridge pickup volume at 50% instead of a full blend of both pickups. That's a common "mistake", even Geddy didn't bother during gigs, but on the album YYZ and Limelight are mostly neck pickup soloed!
@Tim Starace - Wonderful playing! I recently got myself one of these basses, and I love it. But I can’t seem to be able to get my action as low and fast as this. Any tips?
Super ¡¡¡¡¡ great job master, its your jazz bass a MX ? I am raising money for my tech 21 Geddy Signature, I hope to have it very soon, send you a big hug
Great tone. Other than the jazz bass, is the pedal alone creating this sound? Or are there some other effects youre using "behind the scenes". Thinking of getting one myself. Thanks !!
Not criticizing but if you want Geddy tone why wouldn’t you just play the 2000$ Rick sitting off to the side? I would rather play a jazz any day and I know most of the rush stuff was recorded on his jazz. But a good tube amp and a rick is very similar tone to this. Great playing and this is definitely the best demo of this pedal or one of them out of the many you have done
I could listen to Tim all day.
This basically sounds like how I wish all of Moving Pictures had been mixed.
I think there’s a lot of people who agree with you, including me!

Finally, someone that played that middle part correctly! I'm continually inspired over here!
You Are the Best Bass Player I have seen online doing Rush Covers!!!!!
Plays in Rush cover band
He plays clean man! Lays it down nice. Best Rush cover bassist on the Tube.
Nailed it! Absolutely effing nailed it to perfection. The GLJ Bass, Tom’s pickups, the YYZ, those strings… nailed it, man. Loved it. Well done, Sir.
Incredible playing and absolutely spectacular tone, I'm inspired

Amazing to think Geddy plays this while singing.great job by the way
Your big fan from Brazil!!
The tone of that jazz can hold its own against anything , and of course it has a lot to do with who is playing it also. Great sound
I’d love to know what settings you used on the YYZ pedal
This is just one of several comments, but, I must agree with every comment I have read down below. All these people making comments are saying what I would like to say to you as well! Now, I need to get back to the woodshed! You inspire me, Sir.

‘All the world’s indeed a stage and we are merely players’ Rock on!
So nice to find Tim...since I got kicked off Facebook. This guy is amazing
Great job Tim! But then I’ve come to expect that from your vids. The tone is glorious! Much respect!!

And Tom Sawyer 🙂
@@HandOfDoom9349 Exactly, thank you!
I’m pretty sure Limelight was a Rick but either way turning back the bridge does sound better
@@Ampher03 Limelight's the Jazz. Listen during the guitar solo.
Ben Thompson i could be wrong. It’s hard to tell on some
Sounds great Tim! I’ve gotta get me one of those sansamp rbis.
I'm in need of a preamp for my first bass without an on board, and I think your demo just sold me. Thanks so much!
Love hearing the bass!
Great playin and bass faces!!! Cheers from Brazil!
Now you have me trying to learn this. Awesome job too. This is going to be difficult. I hope to see you guys live.
Emotional to watch. Loved it!!!
Great tone. Would you be able to breakdown your settings on the pedal for this song? How much drive, channel mix, treble, bass etc? Thanks!!!!
Hi Tim,

@Tim Starace - Wonderful playing! I recently got myself one of these basses, and I love it. But I can’t seem to be able to get my action as low and fast as this. Any tips?
Cheering for you by the end. Awesome.
Your playing in so spot-on I'm out of words... Do you have perfect pitch?
Great sound and great playing. I would expect rotosound strings. I prefer nickels too
Great job! You killed it!
Super ¡¡¡¡¡ great job master, its your jazz bass a MX ? I am raising money for my tech 21 Geddy Signature, I hope to have it very soon, send you a big hug
Dude, you are a machine. I've heard digital metronomes be less in the pocket than you.
Jaw dropping. !
great sound
was wondering if i could put the tom brantely pickups in a non geedy jazz bass...a USA fender standard jazz bass ? would they fit?
it's got some nice grit to that tone...
killer tone
Killer tone, just like the record.
Sounds great Tim , can you tell me the settings you use to get that killer tone .
5 seconds in, I'm sold
Hi. Did tom brantley made the jazz Pickups or did he mod them to geddy Lee specs ? Thanks.
Yes, he makes them as well as rewinds
sheesh this sounds so good.
yea baby!
Amazing!
Thank you for playing for all the working class brother great job 💪👍
Nice!
Nice tone 👌
Tim on this song, Limelight, are you running your jazz bass through a tech 21?
Always!!!!!!!
Dude you made my day!
Always love your playing and passion for Rush bass lines!
Do you prefer the D’Addario strings over others generally or do you mix and match brands?
you make me sick! You make it look soooo easy!!! Great job man!!!!!!!!!
Killer tone!
great job, tone is killin brother!!
Great tone. Other than the jazz bass, is the pedal alone creating this sound? Or are there some other effects youre using "behind the scenes". Thinking of getting one myself. Thanks !!
Nothing but a bass and the YYZ pedal
@@TimStarace thanks for the prompt reply!
@@Aztahs anytime!
1:13 BIG FUCKIN' MOOD
How do you like that bass? Is it the Japanese or Mexican made one? I want to get the Mexican one but have heard they have issues with bent necks
If you do a Rush cover you're a god
Здорово!✌️
Strings new?
My god!

Are you running thru a bass cabinet? if so what kind?

Fucking Tim, you are amazing.
Is that just the pedal or do you have an amp sim after it?
Just the pedal
Goodness me! that was rather spiffing!
bad. ass. damn
