Great content Hannah. One metric I have been thinking about during my round is no double chips. If you are 80 yards or less make sure you finish on the green and give your putter a chance. I loved his take on bunker play. It’s the one shot in golf where you miss the ball. Us club golfers can do that.
Breaking 90 is really playing for a bogey on each hole and making the occasional par. That is, don't try and hit long shots that you don't control well in an attempt to make par. Better to lay up and hit a full wedge or iron shot at the green. Most of us don't get the tee shot in play when using Driver at first, so my game was to find a club that I could keep the ball in play ( 4W, 7W, 19 Hybrid) until I was getting better hitting Driver. Even then trying to hit fades and draw shapes with Driver eluded me, so I played a fade until I could reliably hit draw9/10 times. Next thing is to use clubs that you can hit well. If you don't do well with long irons, put them away and use Hybrids or Hybrid -irons ( Cleveland HB Launchers for example) up to about 33 degree in loft. Some golfers complain that they hook the hybrids. Try hitting a fade with the hybrids and watch it go straight, or find a hybrid with an adjustable hosel and set it to a flat lie angle.
Great no nonsense instruction with information for the average golfer regarding the distance because we're all guilty of under clubbing and thinking we can achieve the best result every time, when we should looking to make our game easier and enjoying the best we can do we're not perfect. As always great content from Hanna & Jack
I have found that I never hit the ball as far as I do at the range. So, I always club up when hitting into the green so I don’t end up short (unless there is danger long).
Really good content, and right in my wheelhouse as someone who is a regular 95-97 golfer but always comes off knowing that I've left a few shots out there. Did the video get cut off at the end? Feels like there was more to come from both of you there!
Enjoyed the video and tips Hannah. I play off 8 and can hit 85 to 78. Can you do a break 80 video or give me some tips. Inside 20 yards is my major problem area
Break 90.....best tip, play 9 holes... I can par every hole on my local courses but not in a single round. Different day different issue.... Its spring in Oz and if the magpies dont get you from the skies then the snakes might from the ground.
Unless you buy a launch monitor there's no way to tell how far you hit it on the range. Most of us figure our distances on the course over time. Of course it's all subject to course and weather conditions as well. This is what sets golf apart from every other sport where conditions pretty much stay the same.
It might be just me but I have a theory, as long as your iron play is okay, if you can get on the green every time from within 50 yards you'll be able to break 90, do it from 100 yards and you'll be able to break 80. Breaking 70 is something special.
Easy,,EASY,play first hole in double bogey, play second in triple bogey, lose ball on third, go back to clubhouse, salute Lady Captain if she is wearing her Captain's Blazer, then and this is vital to breaking 90, go into five day members bar, buy all the Bogans a drink, then break into a Capello version of Rule Brittania Brittania rules the waves, break wind if you can, then,,then GO home and feed the dawg

Yes definitely, most people try too hard to make pars or birdies and then force higher scores

If your goal is to break 90, play a tee box that is

Good advice, for me personally. I’ve always hit down on my 3 wood. Only way I can hit it good.

Hit fairways. Hit greens. Two putt. Easy.
Easiest way to break 70 is to hit off the women's tees.
Easiest way to break 90 for me is to not drink alcohol. Shit will disrupt my game for at least a week.
