@@fiiiggkgkhduj1088 Oh, apologies for spoiler, but yes they do. In fact they get married in the last episode and Lisbon tells Jane she is pregnant. Jane gets a second chance at a family.
@@fiiiggkgkhduj1088 Not a problem. Cheers. I;m just glad that Jane finally found that happiness with Lisbon and got a second chance at having a family. After all Jane lost and went through, he deserves happiness.
"I wish you'd stop being so damn stupid. You have a good woman over there that knows you and still loves you." I wonder if Jane remembered this moment when Teresa threw a drink in *his* face. The mentalist writers: kings of throwback themes.
This is one of my favorite episodes of the entire show. The characters have all been introduced and this episode really shows the nature of what they do, as well as why Jane works with the CBI--both to catch Red John and to bring justice, as shown when he tells the killer "I care" about the woman who he murdered.
Classic Patrick Jane. *holds him* What a contrast. A man cheating on his wife with anything that moves vs. a man who can not and does not move on from his dearly departed wife and says he is married to women hitting on him. Because he is still married in his mind, heart and symbolically. Fitting if the show ends with him never taking off his ring. Sadly, the good die young applies.
That honestly is an admirable thing. There is nothing around with moving on after a lover has passed but for one to commit themselves for their entire life, even after their love has died, to being faithful is truely above most people. Few species of animals mate for life and I find that people who choose to follow that commitment to be committed to something greater than the normal urge to pass on their genetic code, it is truely great.
For the record, the first guy wasn't married. He just wouldn't get back with his girlfriend and was going around hitting on random girls as a pick up artist because she said hurtful things to him when they broke up.
@@macusama9592 no, he gave it to Lisbon, and she chose to wear it on her necklace next to her mother's cross. He also bought her a ring to wear on her hand.
Omg this scene remembers me the moment on 6x22 when Lisbon thrown the glass at Jane and then I think it maybe helped Jane to realize just what he said to this man "you have a great woman that knows you and still loves you".
My one complaint is that we barely hear anything about his wife or their marriage or their lives before Red John. I wanna know about their relationship and what she was like!
If I remember correctly they grew up together in the circus. Her family also works in the circus but Jane took her and left, then they got married and had a daughter.
@@CHANCHANKIT555 Yeah and that's about it. I'm wondering, however, how involved and/or faithful Jane was as a husband and father. I'm hoping quite a lot, but you never know.
That is admirable Jane honoring his wife's memory. Glad he found happiness again in Lisbon though and got a second chance.
Did him and Lisbon end up together? I haven't watched the whole show and I'm so mad I didn't discover it years ago

He was dry for 10+ years..!!!
A powerful scene. Devotion beyond death.
While, as Tabitha pointed out, Jane was committing the same mistake

This last scener in adition to the soundtrack never fails to break my heart! It was the moment I fell in love with this serie.
That soundtrack is truly enchanting.
So sad this man has loved his wife all his life, teen sweethearts. I wish we saw more flashbacks of Jane and his wife!

Well, that wasn't the case in the end. But I think the circumstances for taking it off were really fitting too.

He doesn't take it off. He just keeps wearing it and buys Lisbon a new ring 👑💫

Jane: "I'm not married!"

I just realized that his surname is Fricke, as in a euphemism for the activity he indulges himself in.
What is the song at the end when Jane tells the woman the he is married??? is it on the first season soundtrack?
