    Monks are such an interesting unit, it makes you wonder why the missionary is the only UU monk type they've added thus far.
    How about a battle monk that can change between fighting and converting / healing mode, Ratha style? Or a sage that is slower but has also more range or takes more damage. Something like that.

    Some part of me would like for conversions to just be fundamentally reworked. Monks need a random amount of "progress" to finish a conversion, gain a fixed amount of progress per second depending on what they're trying to convert, and it's that progress that is conserved.
    Meaning on the flipside that if you've been trying to convert a pikeman for 9 seconds and you switch to a stable, your chance of converting the stable in the next 4 seconds would be quite high. If that's not desired, monks could lose 20% of their progress when switching targets

    I did know this already but now I’m curious if this also works the other way around. Converting a unit that runs away, start converting a building. Will that take less time now? And if you need to walk to the building does it reset?

    • @T-West
      @T-West  Год назад +12

      Yup, that takes less time. The timer continues as the Monk walks, as long as he always has a target. Right clicking the ground to walk instead of the building would reset the timer.

    • @API-Beast
      @API-Beast Год назад +1

      It should take less time, yes. And from what a previous T-West video suggested walking doesn't even reset the timer (e.g. enemy runs out of range), only the monk being given a non-conversion task will reset it.

    So seven-year-old me was doing something right by trying to convert all the enemy buildings. Crazy.
    What if we had two monks converting one stable at the same time, at different times? If one monk had 10.1 seconds of converting under his belt and makes a conversion, would the time needed to convert the stable increase by 10.1 seconds?

    • @T-West
      @T-West  Год назад +3

      Monk conversions are independent of each other. Each Monk individually has a 15 second buffer before he can succeed at converting a Stable. The Stable is converted once any of the Monks succeed in their conversion attempt.

    Why would deleting the buildings reset the conversion timer? Doesn;t it go to zero only after a conversion?

    • @CrnaStrela
      @CrnaStrela Год назад +1

      Because it stops the conversion "action", the timer resets when the action stops and one of them is by succesful conversion

    • @T-West
      @T-West  Год назад +1

      It only is maintained while a Monk actively is converting. He can switch targets to maintain it. But if he stops, such as if he has a walk order or his target dies, then the timer resets.

      @mikelivingood7797 Год назад

      @@T-West I understand. My point was, does deleting the building save that much when the monk can just move to the next building and start again. At least a conversin has the monk vulnerable for attack for 62 seconds.
