I only wish he used more lighting to light the whole project up when showing it off, as the footage looked too dark to really see all of the details. 😢
Now that's a cool build! I have an idea for another in the Imaginary Wild West. Could be a scene on a meandering river (the people LOVE resin) with a boat that uses a mech leg as a pushpole to move along in the shallow water. It could stumble across a giant crawfish in the riverbank or something like that, or maybe it's a logging boat that comes across a giant beaver and dam.
There's a model of the orphan girl and neversweat mines in a museum in my hometown. First, I can't believe how enormous it was,at one point, there was more room underground than in the town, a lot more. Second, I always thought it was just creepy looking and just frightening thinking about being that far down and so far away from any exit or anything. Now add the possibility of a creature of some kind, well that's a solid nope for me. I'll just go work in the fields, where at least you can see the monster coming.
I will say this is probably my favorite video of yours, as it was the first I ever saw and what resonates the most with me when I think of your channel, though I am a huge fan of every star wars project
This series truly is special. I've lived on the western-slope of Colorado my whole life and seeing the state come to life in miniature form is fantastic!
I actually love how you paint the edges black. It puts more focus on the actual surface, and makes the cut portions more conceptual; helps it recede. Dioramas where the ground texture continues all over the edges look cheesy to me for some reason. Yours always look refined with the black poché, like architectural sections. 🏛
I met Stephen Biesty as a kid, and got him to sign his then latest book which was Castle. My mom took me to an event at the local excellent kids book store, Wild Rumpus, Biesty was supposed to be signing books and having an event there like an hour later, and I figured that we'd totally avoid the wait if we showed up early. So we did. I told him how much I loved Man o War, and he pointed out some of the other details in Castle, like the kissing couple that appears in each image, who isn't the spy. Cool guy.
A cool one would be a lone traveler camping next to a fire in the woods, but spread between the trees is a pack of small monsters. The light coming from the central location of the flame would be cool.
I enjoy watching your 'problem solving' to get the result you demonstrate. The foam panels I saw in another of your videos is duplicated here and I really appreciate that simple solution, instead of using plaster of Paris that I initially thought was the medium! And using a spider available 'off the shelf' was a great idea also!
That guy pushing the minecart, doesn't really look all that nervous about the hulking big arachnid directly behind him. I'm imagining that they actually somehow tamed it, and it's now the "Guard Dog" to keep 'claim jumpers' out of their mine. 😁👍

The use of the black color helps draw the viewers focus to the elements where you want them to be looking which is the mind and the miners. If you used a brown color it would be harder to draw that focus.

I'm really loving all of these Old West builds that you're doing, and I was curious...have you read any of the graphic novel series East of West? Some very amazing and weird western concepts in there you might like if you haven't. Also when you use Native American miniatures in your builds, have you thought to have a look at the ways that some tribes decorated rifles or painted horses and the like? I had that thought when watching your swamp mech build and thought incorporating bits of that could potentially be very cool.
here's an idea for a model: a very armoured mech for the transportation of gold or cash assaulted by robbers. Or perhaps a classic train assaulted by robbers using fast and agile little mechs. I'm absolutely thrilled by every single models you make. Keep it up!

Unless the miner is running away from the giant spider with the cart, it makes me think that the giant spider is potentially “tamed.” Like, it helps create the mineshafts and the miner we see is taking the debris out of the shaft. I think I like that idea more! ❤️
This project is amazing on so many different levels (no pun intended!) I'm thinking of making an Oak Island scene, based on what you did, here. Thanks for posting this, and please keep the good work and inspiration coming! Steampunk Train. Steampunk Airship. Please . . . .
Amazing work. One thing I would have added is a light behind the spider, or have made the tunnel bigger so a light could be above it. That way there would be more focus on the spider.
That is soooo cool! I used to draw stuff like this when I was small, and you brought it to life! An after thought though, what if you used the egg sac where the miner was mining? or put parts of it in the mine cart... like the miners stumbled upon something of great value without knowing the danger, or maybe it was worth the risk to hunt for these underground spider eggs? :D
This is great! You could turn the guy with the mining cart around so it looks like he's using the cart to defend himself and hold back the approaching spider!

I just started playing Terraria for the first time a few days ago and me and my friends just beat the wall of flesh last night and I can safely say the game got a lot more painful to play 😂 I hate those Derplings so much
Yes the derplings absolutely suck during early hardmode, and honestly all throughout it. Probably the most annoying hardmode enemy for me is probably the Wyvern since I like building tall builds and not finishing the roof.. That's on me though lol.
@@thebloodroze1597 They are even worst in a small world. You could legit just climb a mountain and you get a wyvern to spawn. its even worst during boss fights when you have to fly up to dodge and a wyvern spawns
Ore-some project. The lighting in this piece is probably the best use of l.e.d's I've seen on youtube! The atmosphere is uncanny and spooky. But I don't think being able to get his cart into the lift is going to be that miner's major priority though!
I made a little short story on this Diorama. "Unwelcomed Visitors." One day, George and his miner friend James, decided to go mining. It's been 3 months since they last visited their old Cave back west of the Rockies. Since they were from California, it'd take them quite a while to get to where their mine shaft was. They would spend 3 hours driving. While on this 3 hour trip James had a bad feeling in his gut. Telling George that they shouldn't go to the mine today, James told him it was as if he needed to throw up, but never did. James being heavily religious took it as a sign that they shouldn't go to their mineshaft. But George didn't listen to him, mostly cause he went there 3 days prior to check up on stuff, and he knew that everything was fine. After George and James finally arrived to their mine. They both took out their tools. James took the Pickaxe, flashlight, rope, and a 12-inch Bowie knife just in case there were any un-wanted things down there. George took a Pocket-Utility knife, flashlight, and some rope, with some gloves, as well as a small chisel and hammer. After they got their gear, they both started walking towards the mine entrance. James, with his gut feeling, got a little cold-feet. Telling George they really shouldn't go into the mine, and head back home to their families. But yet again George didn't listen. As they started walking, up ahead they saw their Cart, elevator, as well a few tools. The place was littered with trash, weeds, and the occasional spider web, from wind and neglection. James went down the elevator down to what he some-what remember where he left off 3 months ago. He went to the rock-granite wall, and started mining, in mind he kept getting the creepy-crawlies. And no matter where he looked, he always had that gut feeling, that something was watching him from the shadows. George started mining a brick-rocky wall a level above James. He hated spiders, as they'd always crawl on him, and bite him. He got bit 2 times by un-identified spiders. While mining, he had seen this white, lump of what seemed to be rocks. Little did he know, those rocks weren't rocks. They were spider eggs. Giant ones. As he mined he would feel a slight rumble. Ignoring it, thinking it was just an earthquake, he turned around, filled the cart, and started pushing it. Not looking behind him, a giant, black-grayish spider would creep up behind him. After loading the Cart, he would turn around to a horrific sight. The spider pounced at him, eating half is body, all that remained would be his lower body. His waist, along with two, bloody legs. George, had been eaten. James not hearing the ruckus above him, kept mining. Still feeling as if he was being watched. He got the feeling that he should leave. And this time, he acted on this feeling. He called the Elevator down, and rushed up to it. As soon as he was on the upper level, He saw the remains of his dead friend. Looking up from that, he would see the Giant spider. In shock, he stood still for a second, then he got his Barings. He had sprinted outside of the mineshaft, while crying over the fact that his friend, who he was friends with for over 14 years, got into his car. and had left everything there. 15 years later. He hasn't gone mining since.
Loved this! I would’ve pushed you to make tiny little lantern covers for each of those LEDs. It also would’ve been nice to have some thing shining on the spider a little bit more. Or downsizing its abdomen.
Found this channel recently and i cant stop binge watching every creation. Out of all the channels like this, i personally think yours in the best. Fantastic work & great commentary. Looking forward to whatever the future brings.
That is so cool! Love the way you put your diorama together. The spider really gave it Pop. The colors came together nicely and the lights gave it atmosphere. It actually draws you in and makes it look like you are in a mine.
Only discovered you this week, but loving your stuff. One thought for this: might be neat to have an outer wall layer on this- a removable one. So you can see the mineshaft as it would really be, and then open up to see the details inside.

I had that thought when watching your swamp mech build and thought incorporating bits of that could potentially be very cool.
Great job. Beautiful build and a very refreshing scene, Very cool.
here's an idea for a model: a very armoured mech for the transportation of gold or cash assaulted by robbers. Or perhaps a classic train assaulted by robbers using fast and agile little mechs.
I'm absolutely thrilled by every single models you make. Keep it up!
Creepy... thinking of that spider inching it's way down that tunnel... ugh... Nice work!
This is amazing, i would love to build something like this for my room! very well done my friend!
A perfect example of doing what you enjoy. You can tell he takes pride in his work and finds it interesting. To be honest, I didn't know this even existed till an hour ago, and ever since then, I've been binge-watching.
Unless the miner is running away from the giant spider with the cart, it makes me think that the giant spider is potentially “tamed.” Like, it helps create the mineshafts and the miner we see is taking the debris out of the shaft. I think I like that idea more! ❤️
Re-watching my favourite vid ✨
This is such a great cutaway.
It's okay guys! Nothing to fear: The spider's abdomen can't fit through the mineshaft supports. Everything's fine.
The spider must have eaten a lot of other miners to get that fat. 🕷️🕷️🕸️😵
Spider got a big butt😂😂😂
@@carlosspeicywiener7018 booty so big oh lord have mercy
Nothing to worry? It will break the supports and collapse the mine.
@@joeshmoe9978 Thats is the trick, you feed spider with fellow miners and everything is fine. 😉😉
very impressive. good job.
This project is amazing on so many different levels (no pun intended!) I'm thinking of making an Oak Island scene, based on what you did, here. Thanks for posting this, and please keep the good work and inspiration coming!
Steampunk Train. Steampunk Airship. Please . . . .
Awesome process and approach. Love added touch with the Minecraft spider sound when you clipped the base off the spider 🙂
I just imagine the miner seeing a bloody elevator descend down with an empty minecart and immediately wondering what happened
One of the first videos that's I seen from your channel that captivated me into miniatures
I really really like this series, but you haven't done a flyer of somesort to this theme so i request for you to make one 🙂🙂🙂
This is great! You could turn the guy with the mining cart around so it looks like he's using the cart to defend himself and hold back the approaching spider!
For some reason the giant spider is REALLY afraid of short guys with hairy feet.
Just found your channel and i gotta say your doing something right here with these. I absolutely love mini dioramas but i never have the patience to watch one be made but the way to compose these videos makes them very engaging and interesting
The moment you realize even if the cage was lifted up it couldn’t go above ground. It is almost already as high as it can go before it hits the roof
Excellent!! I would have added the 2nd spider,, upside down, hanging on the bottom of the lift,,, hahaha
I just started playing Terraria for the first time a few days ago and me and my friends just beat the wall of flesh last night and I can safely say the game got a lot more painful to play 😂 I hate those Derplings so much
Derplings, herplings, and giant tortoises
"Unwelcomed Visitors."
One day, George and his miner friend James, decided to go mining.
Utterly horrifying. Poor George.
@@tankythemagnorite9855 thank you, thank you 😄
Loved this! I would’ve pushed you to make tiny little lantern covers for each of those LEDs. It also would’ve been nice to have some thing shining on the spider a little bit more. Or downsizing its abdomen.
Epic video, I can't believe you made that all (mostly) by hand! Also I loved the terraria shoutout.
Found this channel recently and i cant stop binge watching every creation. Out of all the channels like this, i personally think yours in the best. Fantastic work & great commentary. Looking forward to whatever the future brings.
Very cool 👍 Great nightlite for a small boy ... I know I would have loved it.
The illumination is really cool well done with the spooky gold mine .
You creativity and skill is enormous. I love the atmosphere you captured in this diorama.
That is so cool! Love the way you put your diorama together. The spider really gave it Pop. The colors came together nicely and the lights gave it atmosphere. It actually draws you in and makes it look like you are in a mine.
I love the sci-fi wild west thing you're continuing. Please keep it up!
Absolutely great. I love the idea of this diorama. Fantastic. Thanks for sharing your awesomeness. 👍😉
Only discovered you this week, but loving your stuff. One thought for this: might be neat to have an outer wall layer on this- a removable one. So you can see the mineshaft as it would really be, and then open up to see the details inside.
Wow, interesting!
I've been waiting for this exact diorma, thank you!
Great work,another phenomenal video
Much love,
Mr.P
