The wild Imaginary West's mines remind me a lot of Tremors 4 - even though it's the fourth in a franchise of monster movies, it's a very imaginative and well done story about how a small western mining town would handle being besieged by subterranean monsters. As a kid watching the miners being hunted by unseen monsters behind the dirt walls always terrified me uniquely

If you mix Ultramarine Blue and Burnt Umber you'll get what's called "chromatic black". It often reads as a deeper black than ivory black and you can control it's warmth, allowing you to have "cool" or "warm" shadows. I'd be curious to see how it compares to the special black paints.

Out of your mine dioramas so far this one is easily the most evocative. Getting strung up is bad enough, but then being pulled into the lair of a horrible monstrous spider, which is more than ready to devour you?! Sheesh! If only these fellas had thought to bring along a forestall....speaking of, do you think the signal that forestalls generate would be amplified in conditions like this, where they could just reverberate off the walls?
