Completely blacking out the faces of the mines cross-section helps draw the eyes inside to the details of the story being told. I think you made the right choice. exquisite, as always.
I also think the cross section is better this way. What was wrong, in my opinion, is that the cross sections are too thick compared to the tunnels, so a lot of the area goes unused and this has a slightly negative effect on the end impression. Another thing you could change is, perhaps, to make the voice narration in the beginning and then go on with building footage with music only. Instead of talking all the time. Remember, these videos are enjoyable as in :"relax watching something beautiful". When he talks, it changes into "try to remember the instructions", which is a tad less relaxing, at least in my opinion. Nice joke with the soya sauce, I was ready to try it myself ha ha. Overall a great great model and video, thanks.
@@dimitristripakis7364 I also like the channels that just work and not speak, think they call it ASMR. But both ways are good just according to the project and the viewers preferences. I think I would like to see a large Rocky Mountain pass diorama where it either shows their troubles of the snowy high pass or troubles with a rare high altitude cold environment imaginary beast. Not necessarily the obvious Yeti but maybe a giant mountain goat from hell or mountain feline like a lion or saber cat. Also I would maybe like to see an attempted human flight like a hang glider.
@@centauri9458 if there's a yeti, then a scale appropriate Police Public Call Box that's not actually a Police Public Call Box placed some where in the background
Seeing how you positioned the two initial mine-crosssections next to each other, It would be an interesting idea to make a fourth section that bridges those two peices. Love the work as always :)
That's kindof what I thought this section was going to be (a bridge between the other two mine projects). Then he showed all three at the end and the scale of this piece blew me away. I'm fine with all three being their own, stand alone projects.
I like that you gave your creature a name 👍 If I didn't watch you make this and just saw a picture I'd almost think it was real. The colors and textures make it look so realistic. Thanks for sharing your work.
So my wife is an animator, video game designer, model builder, and artist who got me into things like your videos and I just wanna say, this is one of the coolest styles and world buildings I've seen. Being both a carpenter and lover of Western Style and History, everything you make is perfect. I love seeing the in world reasons for structures or designs that are based in real history of the west. From one Cosmic Cowboy to another, keep up the amazing work. 🤙🏻
your mine builds are always so interesting, i love the variety of creatures that can be found in these tunnels, it really sells the "you cant do anything without being in danger of being eaten, chopped in half, and/or crushed by a monster" aspect of this world
Boylei - how long does something like this actually take? I always imagine you doing it in a day but with this one… feel like that would be a long day! Great work as always
Boylei, mate, PLEASE make a book nook! That'd be an AWESOME idea that can really display your creativity and is something a bit different that what you usually do! Guys, LIKE so he sees this!
Brilliant as always, I love this series. I think I remember Luke Towan's similar idea had an underwater section, it would be cool to see a deeper section of your mines sometime! I bet there's some creepy creaturres living in an underground lagoon!
In trying to follow the guidelines of the snowglobe lottery, I was like "okay i gotta comment on my favorite video" and it took a lot of scrolling back and forth through your channel to finally decide on this one. My favorites are definitely the wild imaginary west (monster ones) but narrowing it down came to rhe fact that I love spooky cave and mineshaft imagery. It was very cool to see the mines built up one at a time
Very impressive job on this one, too. I remember being amazed back when Luke Towan did his mine diorama. His stuff is always excellent, but that one is still my favorite of his. Your mine dioramas remind me of his and take the concept out even further. Unbeknownst to the Wild West world above, there is a whole other Tolkienesque subterranean complex of ancient nameless things. Be careful how deep you dig…
This has always been one of my favorite videos of yours. I really like the monsters you create and how scary they would be to actually encounter one. You do a great job with these depictions. Happy New Year to you and your wife.
Henry's fine, this ain't his first rodeo. I hear he carries a bottle of his granny's homemade hot sauce for such occasions, makes the beasties spit 'im right back out.
I'm old enough to have played D&D while attending Bellarmine (San Jose) back in the 70's. As I watch your videos I'm reminded of those days as I think, "Can you imagine if this guy was your DM?" You're truly an artist. Thank you.
Gosh you are so talented! These never cease to amaze me! Would love to see your take on a Dust Devil attacking a ranch home! Also can't wait for the next town building!
Excellent work as always. It would be cool if you can consolidate all mine dioramas, like for exmp if every mine had a different entrance but deep down its all big shared cave or whatever. Still waiting on that hotel/brothel idea for the western town :D
I think there are some situations where blacking out the cross faces helps a lot, especially with these mine sets. It sort of adds to the feeling of darkness and claustrophobia. Also I like that the giant bugs stick to the underground, makes me wonder if in this universe these are descendants of ancient bugs that got trapped underground, or are simply large bugs that hide in caves and old mines. awesome video as always
This is incredible! I hope you do more underground dioramas for future projects. How about a cross section of the infamous Oak Island Money Pit . . . ?
i love your builds because they're both simple enough to make me feel like i could do it too, but at the same time, it's obvious that you really know your craft and they're always so fun and beautiful
This world building you've done with the Wild Imaginary West, is staggering. I can certainly see the appeal, I've always loved Cowboys vs Monster stories. Stellar content. CHEERS!!!
I think this is one of the least scarier ones but it is still cool you know wat no its awesome keep up the good work and I love your stuff I love your videos of been watching you for a while and I want to make stuff like you do you inspire me so thanks for helping me find a new hobby❤
have never watched a video like this before, and frankly I'm not entirely sure how you ended up on my feed, but I couldn't be happier!! the depth of the cavern in the final reveal is so wonderful, cannot wait to go watch your other content
This is so cool! It amazes me so many people grow out of being creative. As kids we thrived their, and as adults so many people seem to think things like this is for the niche, but why? It's even more fun as an adult cause you get to really make whatever you want, buy your own supplies, etc. I love it!
The very first video that was recommended from you was the Spooky Goldmine. I grew up playing Thief The Dark Project and Drakan Order of the Flame, both games having iconic Mine levels. I don't know what it is, but I love the aesthetic of mines ever since, the sound of rocks, picks against stone, tunnels, the beam structure, and of course, much like the case in both games I mentioned, the terrors that lurk in the shadows. I can't wait to see you create more mine themed build! Thief had the mines haunted by zombies, and of course a giant spider, so I wonder, do undead have a place in your Imaginary Wild West? Meanwhile, the 'orcs' in Drakan forced humans to mine green glowing crystals, which I think would look very cool, instead of the warm orange lights, the tunnels being lit by an eerie green light. Thank you for making these among other wonderful creations!!
Awesome as always! I've seen some examples of models that use one way mirrors to give an "infinite" hallway effect. I think that could be a cool way to add even more depth to these mines without needing to build a bunch. Might be something I think you could rock. Love your work and look forward to your videos every week!
The extra depth of the cave gives more of a three-dimensional feeling to the diorama. Well done as usual. I just need to find a hobby store like the one you go to.
Such a cool build, and I agree with the blacked out sides, It gives a great sense of ambience, like there could be even more monsters lurking down there
I’ve been a big fan of Luke for a long time and finding your channel has been so fun you bring such a whimsical fantasy element to all of your builds that I absolutely love
This can truly be called an alien ant-farm! My 4 year old daughter always super excited when you mix up your terrain paste, btw. She yells:”MODPODGE!!! It looks like chocolate!!!” Great project, again. Loved the lighting, especially.
the first video i ever watched of yours was your first mine. I absolutely loved it so i binged every imaginary wild west diorama you've made. Gotta say, i still love the mines so much.
These look so good, it reminds me of a nearby mine system that all of us locals went to for a field trip growing up. The color, the tightness, the warm but still not bright enough lighting. Just these always look so good.
That monster reminds me of the graboids and the fact it's in a mine since that's when they were first encountered in Tremors 4. It'd be cool to see you make a Tremors diorama.

I much prefer talking all the way through, I do watch as a bit of a tutorial, not just to vibe
Realistically the inside of solid rock is pitch black anyway.

These cave builds are definitely an all time favorite of mine!
Heh. Of MINE.
Please next time do the inside of a building, like the creatures invade the saloon and the people inside are fighting them off
maybe one of these caterpillars breaking through the floor in the middle of the saloon?
Like saloon shootout by tomska, that would be a super fun build!
I would love to see that
Good one man
wow, excelent idea, maybe hunters persuiting it trught the saloon
That would be so cool
Seeing how you positioned the two initial mine-crosssections next to each other, It would be an interesting idea to make a fourth section that bridges those two peices. Love the work as always :)
I had thought that too, but maybe even broaden it to include this one too
That's kindof what I thought this section was going to be (a bridge between the other two mine projects). Then he showed all three at the end and the scale of this piece blew me away. I'm fine with all three being their own, stand alone projects.

This will always be my favourite build… the combo of the last two, the lighting and design, the cross section, it’s got it all!
This was the first video of yours that I watch, been hooked ever since. Its great to see your Wild Imaginary West come to life.
Boylei - how long does something like this actually take? I always imagine you doing it in a day but with this one… feel like that would be a long day! Great work as always
He makes one build a week cause it takes him at least 3 days
I think for some of the smaller builds only takes him 1 or less days but for the bigger ones, like bud above me said, around 3 or more days
He has said about 12 hours a day.
For my build, really similar to his, i need about 2 to 3 after-work days
One of the first videos we wat he'd as a family and is our favorite!
Boylei, mate, PLEASE make a book nook! That'd be an AWESOME idea that can really display your creativity and is something a bit different that what you usually do! Guys, LIKE so he sees this!
Super awesome man!
I will never not be impressed with what you can make! It's so very cool!
This is my favorite. Really nice work. I enjoy all your videos and look forward to them each week. Cheers!
You can't help but nod your head in confirmation when Boylei "Calls it good"
It's really hard for me to pick a favorite video from your content. But I love your Wild West builds.
Brilliant as always, I love this series. I think I remember Luke Towan's similar idea had an underwater section, it would be cool to see a deeper section of your mines sometime! I bet there's some creepy creaturres living in an underground lagoon!
I personally like the blacking out of everything unimportant. It's stylish and helps to focus the attention on the centerpiece
I'm so happy you've decided to be go deeper for the cave cavity, that looks so cool! I love the final effect.

An active monster attack! I hope Henry was able to somehow make it out alive but I have my doubts.. Great work as always.
Henry's fine, this ain't his first rodeo. I hear he carries a bottle of his granny's homemade hot sauce for such occasions, makes the beasties spit 'im right back out.
I love these old school "Wild Imaginary West" videos
I thoroughly enjoy the Wild West builds! Great work!
I love the creepy creatures. They are some of my favorites that you build!
Amazing work! I think it would be really cool if you combined all these cave dioramas into one big mountain diorama like what you did with the town.
That just made me think of like framing them and hanging them up on walls. It would make such amazing art!
The lighting is always so good in all of your builds. Amazing

The transition to lights on looked so good!!
Talent personified. You should be proud of your work. Have a good 1.
I agree that the cross sections needed to be black the way you did it. Keeps the eye on the tunnels and the important things. Looks great
Wow, lit up that is amazing !!!

My only complaint is I wish these videos were longer , love the build!
bro I just discovered your channel, and I can;t stop binge watching all ur vids, it's so satisfying to watch lmao thank u
The mine series are my favorite!please do more!!!
the first video i ever watched of yours was your first mine. I absolutely loved it so i binged every imaginary wild west diorama you've made. Gotta say, i still love the mines so much.
This channel is like a modern day Bob Ross tv show. It’s very relaxing to watch and I’m for sure gonna learn something new.
My favourite part in the project of the imaginary west is all of these mine and cave of miners, i love those deep diapo :)
This is very nice. As usual you knocked it out of the park. I know I have asked before but are going to give us man sized monsters.
Much love
your videos are what Nightmares are made of... Great video.. great job.. cant wait to see more..
This is a pretty dope and original take on the one luke did. I like it
Wow! That reveal is awesome! Amazing work as always mate. 👏👏👏

Idea for the next build: a Giant Reindeer themed Mech carrying supplies comes to a town and gives out rations and gifts
That monster reminds me of the graboids and the fact it's in a mine since that's when they were first encountered in Tremors 4. It'd be cool to see you make a Tremors diorama.
You have inspired me so many times to do my own dioramas and have now started my own very amateur channel, thank you
Luke's Channel has loads of binge-worthy content! ...So does yours Boylei! Great stuff!
Watching your videos always makes me so happy 😊
Henry's the MVP here, hes experienced.
Always enjoyable, entertaining and informative love the story so far can't wait for more
Just been binge watching the series these last few days, and just amazing builds. The caterpillar kinda reminds me of the Mongolian deathworms
Absolutely gorgeous work!! I love the lighting it just adds so much atmosphere to the piece
I agree
Super relaxing. As always phenomenal job. I totally need more therapeutic hobbies.
