Top notch. You should definitely tap into the “van meter visitor”, it’s an pterosaur like creature that was spotted in Iowa 1903 in the mid west. the monster has a great wings and a horn that glows a blinding light and was said to fly around and would reside in the mines. Reports say it loves to perch on top of roof tops, I think it would fit perfectly into your Wild West aesthetic.

I've talked to resin manufacturers when doing large pours. They recommended using thicker acrylic sheets and staggered pours to avoid cracking and other incidents, or using lower temperature-curing resin (which takes ages to set and harden). It takes much longer, but the results are usually worth it.

I can't imagine the frustration at coming back to find resin disasters like that. As far as the scale goes, a lot of the older model kits (this one originates in the 1950s) the scale was often quite loose and sometimes based on what would fit in the box! That probably explains the giants that come with this model.

I do have one suggestion, if you add a few water mines to the surface of the water above the crack it could give the impression the crack is an explosion. You could even drill out some of the resin above it and have one sinking then refill with more uv resin or water effects to make it look like it’s sinking.

Your dioramas always have a weird, creepy sense of realism that I absolutely love! The lobster-boat size ratio is realistic, and the boat's an appropriate vessel for deep-sea fishing. You make it easy to believe that these lurking, big-ass creatures could be out there! :)
However, it's my understanding that live lobsters aren't red. This giant lobster is definitely a deep-sea and probably prehistoric creature, and you've got skills for aging and antiquing things. A denizen of the deep such as a giant lobster surely would look its age -- dark, barnacled, like living stone.
This diorama is not a fail! I thank you for it and for the lessons you share, when things don't go right.

From other videos I've watched that used that 'water ripples' stuff, it starts out very liquidy right out of the bottle and slowly thickens over time. There's apparently a window of time before it becomes completely solid and set where it's malleable enough to shape and sculpt but thick enough not to simply melt away into nothingness. I haven't worked with it myself, so take that with a grain of salt, but watch High Eye Workshop's video on building the Cove, where he uses it and gives some tips.

Very interesting project and a great result sir!! (Even with the resin cracking problems.) It's really nice to see a creator show that not every project works out as intended. Showing how you dealt with the issues and kept moving forward is very inspiring to us mere mortals.
P.S. Now we need to see a Chupacabra Mermaid project in the near future. 😲😱🤔

It still looks really good. Please don’t stop with resin. It’s awesome to see and your videos give me courage/knowledge to work with it myself.

I like the way the boat leans over because of course it would be, and I enjoy your problem solving process. The crack is pretty big but honestly I think it works, it's as if the lobster is moving so fast it broke the water. Like a mantis shrimp.

you have to try resin at least once more.
I thought you said Chupacabra Mermaids , but I wasn't sure I heard it right so I had to go back watch that part again with closed caption on and yup that is what it was. Now that is a twisted idea, now you have to come up with them in another build soon, I have to see some Chupacabra Mermaids, I really have to see them.
Crack or not, even with the resin mishaps it still came out awesome. You are totally a pro at this stuff because you fixed 99.99% of the mishaps without making them look like you had to fix them. Great Job, and We Need To See The Chupacabra Mermaids.

In Elden Ring, those lobsters will 360' no-scope snipe your ass from 3km away. That crew was lucky the lobster was willing to fight in melee range.

The bit with the lobster in the paint water was really cute/funny. I love the "Thank you sir"

I don't know if you will see this comment, but I'd really recommend using some kind of base layer to give kind of a bottom to the river so it looks like the lobster has more of a habitat and not just is laying around in open water. Besides that, I absolutely love the aesthetic of your build. The utilization of the mid exploration era soliders and modernist era of technology really gives the build a unique vibe. All around a great video to watch!

awesome work once again, lobster looks awesome. Ever consider making a sandy bottom for another of your resin river builds? Sandy and stony river bottoms hold many a strange creature.
