Agreed, excellent narration, even if the voice is not his own! I reacted when he souded so different from one video to another. So far he has used at least 3 different voices.
This particular voice has such a natural tone I hardly even notice it's AI. I know some voice models can be used as an overlay for your own voice, so I wonder if maybe he reads out the scripts for these videos and runs it through the AI. Whatever the hell he does it works though.
I was probably recommended your channel because I started watching naval history videos... while painting minis (WH40k, Napoleonic war and D&D stuff). But I'm very happy with the recommendation. I never thought about building and painting ships so it's very interesting for me to see another side of this hobby. And the commentary is hilarious.

Seeing someone actually buy one of these feels like a fever dream; I’ve seen them on the web for ages, never had the guts to actually invest. All are models nicked from World of Warships (or cgtrader, etc) and 3D printed.
Love this channel. Everyone’s ship models are perfect museum quality so it was intimidating to attempt a ship. Seeing these videos helps to show you that even when you make mistakes your end result is still pretty good. Can’t wait for more
as someone recommended this video who, primarily, paints 6 megatonnes of 40k - I found it curious if not elucidating how the parts of this video I found deeply intimidating, that is the masking, non-acrylic paint mystical paints ("enamels", I hear them call it), and repairing 1mm railing were your bread & butter. In contrast, the freehanding, weathering and other crap I'm well versed in was familiar territory. I'm not sure what else I have to say, other than I enjoyed this video a lot, and jam your style. All glory to the people and the revolution 🚩
Thank You to the RUclips algo-thingy for leading me to your channel! As a former Airfix builder, some thirty years ago, I'm blown away by the work you do here. Beautiful!
Gotta say: I didn't think all that tedious masking on the deck would look good. But I wasn't going to say anything, because you went to a hell of a lot of work. But when you painted all the other features dark gray or black--ZING! The deck colors really popped! Gotta hand it to you. Looks super.
I've been hoping for a new video all week, and he delivered! and man, is the Boxman lore building up to something potentially catastrophic. Also, that blue paint he whipped up is nice. gonna need to figure out how to make that for my not GW brand Space Marines.
quite amazing it reminds me of when I was 15, some 40 years ago, painting those Tamiya ships.... looking at your skills, you might just have been a surgeon on the side! and perhaps you are!!!
I use acrylic paints with the brush because I’m not confident or smart enough to properly dilute enamels. I thought I was simply abysmal at using a paintbrush. Out of the little bottles, the acrylic paint application is satisfyingly smooth. I recommend conducting some tests with acrylics to see how you like them.
Little tip about painting by hand: Stabilize your painting hand by resting it over the palm or a single extended finger from the hand holding the part you're wanting to paint.

You can actually get a lot done with paint brushes on all the small parts. What you need is a very nice fine tipped brush, and one of those magnifying glass that you wear on your head. Get the type that looks like the glass is dangling from the frame and not the ones that look like mini welding masks if that makes sense. There are plenty of techniques for keeping your hand steady, one of which is to stick out your pinky and rest it on something while you paint, or similarly stack up a few books and rest your forearms leaving only your wrist moving. Meanwhile have your piece on a mechanical arm that you can articulate so your painting fingers will be doing mostly similar strokes. All these additional equipment will cost no more than 30 bucks though a good brush will probably cost another 20. Have fun!
