- Today I get to see some of the oldest living things on Earth! Many of these timeless trees are over 2,200 years old! It is such a privilege seeing something so old and still growing.
Big basin was overrun by fire in 2020 and looks a lot different now than it did in years past. Fortunately it is growing back, and almost all of the redwoods survived. Through hard work, many of the trails are being reopened. I met some men and women working on the trails this day and thanked them for their effort. It is a tough job and I appreciate them very much.
While on this hike my RUclips channel gained its 1,000th subscriber! Thank you all for following me and making this channel so fun to maintain!
This is the trail I hiked (5 miles):

Thanks for sharing! I was surprised how quiet it was.
All the animals were saying, "Geez doesn't this guy ever stop talking?"
Such a beautiful trail! I gotta make my way up there. And congratulations on 1k! 💚💚💚
Thanks! It's a long windy drive but worth it. And nobody is there on weekdays.
@@outsidewithmike my kinda trail! 🤗
I just left Redwoods National Park. We did a trail that had Redwoods that are approximately 1500 to 2000 years old!! They were unbelievable 😮
I enjoyed your walk through Big Basin. I haven't been to that grove yet. 😊
Last night I saw you had some redwood vids coming soon. It is humbling seeing these trees. Hard to wrap my mind around how long they have been here.
@outsidewithmike I just love them! Being in the groves brings such great energy ✨️
Dang those are massive. It's so quiet out there. Congrats on the 1k subs!
Thanks bud. I wanna find some more trails around like Henry Cowell. Whitney in just a couple of weeks...yikes!!!
