- Tears of the Kingdom has a fantastic Master Sword pull cutscene, but that go me wonder just what is the best Master Sword pull in the entire series? I'm not biased, not one bit.

What I love about tears of the kingdom is link isn’t proving himself, the master sword already knows he is worthy of its power, now he just needs to hang on for dear fucking life
he is removing her splinter as gently as possible
@@edgytoucan3444technically as painfully because her hair is wrapped around it, yeesh
@@captainshadowfoxAnd stuck to her brain as well, apparently
@RF-Ataraxia For all you know Light Dragon brains could be in their feet
@@RF-Ataraxia it was not in THAT deep my guy.
Twilight Princess Master Sword pull will always be in competition for my top spot.
Getting past Midna’s lament moments before and Zelda’s sacrifice all leading up to it. Then the gameplay element it brought after was probably more substantial than any other Zelda except Ocarina of Time. You could switch back and forth from wolf at any point which was great!
Also ocarina of time master sword pull because of the excitement of finally having it replaced with the horror of seeing hyrule ruined, genuinely one of the best master sword pulls and I don’t understand why people say totk’s is the best, it’s fine but not the best by far. Also the master sword in totk is still meh compared to other Zelda game, it breaks.
I also just love the moment Link rasies the sword and all the mist just parts around him its such a subtil hint of power and looks amazing
For me, it is the top spot. That game is just the best Zelda game fr
@@Twili8697 I love it but I don’t think it’s the best
I love how totk link just admires the sword and treats it like and old friend
Same
We’ve always known it was sentient to some extent, but it feels like TotK is where they start to fully realize that. Would be cool if the premise of the next game was building a stronger bond with the Master Sword rather than having to pull it out of somewhere
@@OffbrandDTravelerthat's literally what skyward sword is about, I don't think they're gonna do it again
@@OffbrandDTravelerIt's especially prevalent with it TALKING TO ZELDA and having traveled back in time INTENTIONALLY to find her. This also means it knew from the start what happened and what time she was in.
@@mightbeanerd
It would be different since you don't really ever bond with Fi. After all, she was so robotic in her interactions that it was hard to bond with her. The only time any sort of bond is actually seen was at the very end of the game when Fi told us her time with Link was precious to her right before she entered her "eternal slumber". I put that in quotes since she clearly lied.
But I imagine that after billions of years, being handled by hero after hero, fighting for what he cares for most, the Spirit of the Sword likely would have learned a bit more about what it's like to be human. We would actually have someone to bond with rather than a machine to tell us our Wii Remote batteries are low.
Not to mention, Fi probably can't manifest herself anymore. So we wouldn't be bonding with the Spirit of the Sword quite as much as we would be bonding with the Sword itself.
I think the age of calamity one is cool, because I just love seeing Astor know he f’d up
Yeah, fr. That game is so underrated
i might restart the game to play it again
Lol I love that game

I thought everyone forgot about that game. I thought I was the only one.
Good memories with that game.
NOSTALGIA
As good as totk's master sword pull is, I actually prefer the one from twilight princess. The cinematic when it breaks Link's curse and the way the fog around disperses is just magical.
Yeah this and ocarina of time for me.
I would say (spoilers)...
pulling the sword out of a dragon who is the person who you swore to protect but she has sacrificed her personhood to restore your sword over only Hylia knows how many thousands of years, while she flies through the air is pretty magical.
@@voltron77100%
@@darkscot1338totk lore spoilers below
there's little to no buildup towards getting the master sword in totk. A lot of players get it before they even know that zelda's the light dragon.
You sir, are a man of culture
The doubled music in the background is really throwing me on this one, I can't lie.
Also Twilight Princess has a great Master Sword draw moment, when he lifts the sword above his head and the fog blows away all at once.
Man i 100% agree with number 3
I love how link doesn’t have a heart attack being flinged by a dragon and be 50000 feet in the sky
I... I think man's has been through worse tbh lmao
Ocarina of time's spaster sword pole is also really good when you travel forward in time And you can even put it back to go back in time
Only game you get to pull the master sword whenever you want!
But that was it for the cutscene and after that you get greeted with the fact that you basically handed overthr Triforce to ganon and its a pretty dismal pull
I love oot's SPASTER SWORD POLE
Yeah it’s great because you’re excited to pull it out and then you realize the error you just made and see hyrule devastated. Definitely one of the best master sword pulls.
I love all SPASTER SWORD POLE
This isn’t really a master sword pull, but the master sword becoming the true master sword in skyward sword is my favorite master sword pull. (haven’t gotten it in totk yet and haven’t played wind waker and twilight princess).
Bro YOU NEEED TO PLAY Twilight Princess IT IS SOO AWESOME, trust me take it slow and don’t use guides if stuck, it’s the most fun you’ll ever have! It has soo much emotion in it, unlike the newer games
Ps the master sword pull it my #1 in TP
@@danplays6273 I really want to but I don’t have a means to play it. Hoping it comes to switch.
Bro twilight princess is SO good. Literally my favorite zelda game of all time. Totk and botw just do not compare.
@@elianfarah5031you can get it for free through emulators on your phone
I’ll never forget the OG Link to the Past Master Sword draw. Working with so little, they build towards that moment so much! Every single one after is modeled after it and the music is iconic to this day! Sure it’s been outdone, but have to recognize the trend setters.
@baller986 you can cheat in TotK and start the game with the Master sword and it doesn't lose power😅
It's so rewarding to pull the Master Sword in TotK. Going through the Depths, fighting (you know who) and riding a whole dragon. Even more, it shows that Zelda's hard work to get the Master Sword to Link paid off.

Honestly OoT still takes the cake for me. The way that you think “I’m gonna pull the sword and then take on Ganondorf!” only for it to have been a setup the ENTIRE TIME and Ganondorf took advantage of your mistake to lay waste to the ENTIRE KINGDOM??? And not only that, but you have to repeatedly put the sword back and repull it to swap between time periods, meaning you get to relive that awesome animation again and again.
I agree with number 1
I forgot the YAHAHA
I really like the little effortless pull in the "memories" in tears of the kingdom
the way he just casually takes it from the pedestal, without recreating
I think it looks epic and makes you feel like you reaally OWNED the sword
*plays ocarina aggressively*
Pulling the Master Sword in ToTK was definitely euphoric and hopeful as a moment... until i found out about the Light Dragon
I found out about the light dragon before and it felt really heavy.
@@pathoesr7872yeah that is by far the one thing they should have locked behind progression.
I really wish I got to experience the dragon's reveal, since I got it spoiled for me before even getting the first tear.
how'd you not find out about it if you had seen all the memories? unless I'm just silly and she was always flying around and you could get it soon as you had the stamina lol
@SSlash you probably could have gotten it as soon as you had the stamina. I did one dungeon before going back to the Lost Woods and speaking to Deku Tree, and he told me where the sword was. I pulled it and then intermittently was getting the memories, then the final one shows up
Me trying to form an argument that technically Link pulls out the sword from the sheath in skyward sword after building the sword
ITS STILL BADASS 😂 cause you build the sword and then it finally opens with its full power and that golden purple sheath its a very hype moment even if you dont pull it out the ground
A link to the past is def an honorable mention simply because of how much that moment impacted the series' legacy
Link between worlds is a great one, the music the atmosphere and the everything is great
Bro twilight princess was so good
Most elegant yahaha ever
My favorite is the master torch pull
Gotta go with Twilight Princess. Favorite game in the series
A fellow person of culture
I agree
Trial of the sword is goated and underrated. *YAHAHA*
*YAHAHA*
I love how link just makes colour in windwakers one
Also w windwaker bias
From statues to surprisingly easy enemies
The sword pull from ToTK was just one of the amazing moments in that awesome game
Windwaker (Wii U) was my first Zelda game and it is still amazing
3 goes to Twilight Princess. Are you kidding me? The sword is so sacred that it transforms him from Wolf to Man again.. 😢 2 goes to Ocarina of Time & 1 is Tears of the Kingdom.
I liked Totk but Oot and tp should be 2 and 1. 3 should be WindWaker because it’s really sick.
I dont like the pull from oot that much. a child pulls out a sword that adult men had trouble pulling felt weird BUT my fav zelda moment was after he pulled da sword
How ever if we are talking about the build up of the sword when navi saw it then yes it is a number 2 😅
@@nowh_8808 ? What do you mean adults had trouble pulling? Also he’s the chosen one.
@@voltron77 rewatch most of the adult links pulling out the sword then watch young link
Wind Waker carries in every category
W wind waker bias
I'm biased, but aLttP has my fav Master Sword pull. It was THE FIRST time we ever pulled the Master Sword and doing marked a major change in Link and the story and pacing if the game. That bright blinding light, the 3 Pendants, the rising music, and then the misty Lost Woods becoming clear. mwah: chef's kiss
Oot be like*are you sure about that*
i have a fully 3d printed 39 inch master sword and its awesome
I really like a link to the past.
I saw a streamer playing totk and when he was pulling the sword from the light dragon’s head, while pulling it he said: "ZELDA GIMME DIS HEAAAAAD" 💀
I need to replay the master sword pull.... I forgot to change outfits beforehand and just couldn't take the scene seriously...
What did you have on, bro? 😂
age of calamity and tears of the kingdom are definitely my top 2 ! age of calamity just had such a good buildup and respective cutscene-it’s drama is a huge factor of how impactful it is. i’d say skyward sword is probably my 3rd (it’s just bias though)
What’s your 1st?
This is why I'm subscribed to you. Windwaker was the first Zelda game I ever beat and I beat it on my birthday during my first sleepover.
Why are there like five songs playing at the same time xD
ToTK was so so cool. And part of it is that I had no idea it was there. I was just like, “hmm I have the means to go over there now. I wonder what it’s all about.” Ended up at the back and walked all the way to the front, enjoying the music. Then all of a sudden, master sword???
The pull itself, so intimate in terms of cinematography. Even though there’s action, it’s beautiful.
I'd say OoT was a pretty good one because you get locked in time and awake as an adult link, which was such a curveball and beginning of the core mechanic of the gane, but I get why it's not on here, just an honorable mention
i love how cdot says YAHAHAHA at the end of every vid
Man I can’t relate to number three because I didn’t even beat the beginning trials of the sword.
Bro I just glitched through the trial of the sword, absolutely no effort
“but you are also just wrong” funniest shit of the day
Breath of the wild’s master sword pull will always be number one for me. The feeling of having to prove your worth to pull the sword was awesome, especially the first time around.
“Zelda stop moving I need the sword!”
-Link
One riff of home. Summoning salt has been summoned
bro is putting 5 track at the same time, chill dude
I'll go through mine cause boredom
3. Ocarina of time: it was really unexpected, at least for me, to suddenly just become an adult and enter into the sages realm. I found the mechanic of the master sword with the time travelling really interesting though kind of unutilized.
2. Skyward sword, the whole speech before Zelda gets stuck in the past is one of my favorite moments in the series ever. And it's also when the master sword becomes the true master sword, it was a really heartfelt moment and a gift from Zelda to link to be able to use the sword in its true power after so long.
1. Totk, do I need to say more? Finding out about Zelda's determination to keep the master sword safe while also in turn powering it up because she had faith that link would be able to wield it once again to defeat the demon king when she and the other sages could not.
Oh my God, the tears of the Kingdom pull was heavenly I just imagine I don’t need no light to see you shine
My favorite is the skyward sword pull, I know it’s technically not the master sword yet but it felt so cool to actually do the motions of pulling out the sword.
I love the Twilight Princess Master Sword pull as well. The buildup of it warding off the shadow magic placed on Link is cool.
OoT is my favorite due to the fact that once you pull it, it
enhances the plot by being asleep for 7 years, while ruled the world.
My personal favorite is the Twilight Princess pull.
I love how before, Wolf Link growls and howls at the Sword when it's billowing a powerful wind. It's like he's proving himself in his Twilight form that he's worthy to weild such a powerful force; and in the end, draws the Blade of Evils Bane once he's returned to his Light Form signifing his triumph over being cursed to remain in his Twilight form by Zant. It also signifies how he fully grasps his responsibility as the chosen hero by drawing the blade that would be the end of the suffering of his Hyrule❤
In totk he looks badass standing there with the sword on top of the dragon.
My favourite is oot bc its so nostalgic its the first zeldagame iv ever played and the room you pull it from was just very majestic
Just pulled the master sword in windwaker today! I grew up playing that game on the gamecube, it is THE game from my childhood that I think about all the time and I still love playing. That probably my #1 zelda if not BOTW or Phantom Hourglass.
I love that wind waker is getting its flowers. It was the first game I ever bought for myself in 2004 when I was 6. Graphics hold up and still my top 2 fav game ever.
Ok but in ToTK he isn’t proving himself, he isn’t breaking a curse, it’s you greeting an old friend after they recover from a fatal injury. Also, I knew beforehand that
Zelda is the light dragon (I got Al the tears and that’s how I learned) and when I pulled it I proceeded to immediately after the cutscene find her and whack her with it. Also if anyone needs a good spot to glide onto her, the top of either valor, bravery or courage island (whatever one is near Mt.Lanayru). I put a travel medallion there so I can glide on her from there. Also her flight path and naydras are right on top of each other so it you see naydra near Mt.Lanayru, look up slightly to see if you can see Zelda
The cinematic in TOTK was AWESOME fr
Love that Hyrule Circuit music
It might not be my #1 favorite (and technically not the master sword), but one of my favorite pulls is of the goddess sword in Skyward Sword. I’m definitely a sucker for nostalgia, but the atmosphere just gets me every time!
I see what you did there Cdot, I heard that live and learn as you fought that guardian
The one from ALbW was also very cool. Because of how they worked with the Soundtrack
No one talking about ocarina of time? It’s iconic. Maybe I’m too old 😢
53rd video asking to be Frederick's favourite uncle Bob.
I'm done for the night. If I remember to do it tomorrow, I might lol
And remember
Yahaha
Bros doing that Christopher noland type editing with the music
Dude Link to the Past first Mastersword pull first time you saw it was crazy
music wasn’t loud enough, i could almost hear the video
Nah mate it's not about pulling out the sword but the finishing blow on gannon so in that case
#3 twighlight princess stabbing gamblegork in the chest made a beautiful ending
#2 oot stab beast gannon in head what else can I say
#1 totk just being able to deal the final blow in anyway you want but still in the head is awesome just being able to dive down and a falling slash makes it perfect
Ocarina of time be like*are you sure about that*
Wind Waker is the best Zelda game gang

When I completed the Trial of the Master Sword in BotW… that was one of my proudest moments in gaming. I could just feel the accomplishment finally seeing the full power.
A shame we didn’t get that in TotK, but that would’ve been a bit too much with the fuse system too… or would it?
Same first and third, though the second place is age of calamities pull. Just looks amazing
Subspace emissary’s is goated aswell
“You’re wrong”
…
“My bias”
Bro just seeing the botw bokoblins feels so weird because of how much I’m used to totk bokoblins with their weird horns
Totally agreed, specially Wind Waker in 2nd Place, it was like u read my mind ♡
pretty sure im probably alone on this, but the OG pull in a link to the past. If you can be biased, then so can i, because the 3 emblems coming out along with master swords melody playing was absolutely magical to witness as a kid.
I just love the music when pulling the Master Sword. So my first pick is definitely Ocarina of Time since opening the door of time then the iconic sword pull with its violins and crystal xylophones just hit me so hard.
Twilight Princess's is my second as the organ and orchestra fits so well with Hero of Twilight.
Tears of the Kingdom and its sequence specifically is the 3rd as i loved the story building up to it. Knowing WHO is the light dragon makes this hits hard.
how many soundtracks do you want playing at once to annoy your audience: yes
Age of calamity one is one of my favorites too
og hyrule warriors is like that one, but more cool
Mine is Ocarina of time hands down, revealing the master sword behind the wall in the temple of time, then the blue aura around him, and awakening up as an adult knight as receives his knowledge that he’s the hero of time and that this is his destiny to save the land. Doesn’t get any more epic than that
Here’s my list
3. Age of Calamity (insanely climactic moment, hearing the OG LoZ theme kick in afterward was thrilling)
2. Twilight Princess (Having the sword cleanse Link’s darkness is sooooo good & feeds into master sword lore)
1. Tears of the Kingdom of course
I love the totk master sword because it retains it's shape when fusing, except for when you swing iy
Nice top 3! Just some feedback: The sound mixing on the music + sound effects + voice over in this video is busy and could use some work.
AOC on top. Link literally got his own theme for it. “The knight who seals the darkness”
I would argue skyward sword and twilight pricess.
Skuward sword : the process of forging the master sword and finally having zelda bless it was so epic
Twilight princess : the master sword being the blade of the evil bane, literally cleansed the cursed link from the twilight and returned him to his human form, and pulling it just to see the sword is pushing air putside, THIS IS EPIC
For everything attached to it, Zelda’s sacrifice, Skull Kid getting to play with Link again, and Link getting control of his wolf form, it’s Twilight Princess for me.
i liked the ideas in SS where you have to upgrade the Goddess sword & transform it to the master sword…just the lore behind SS is why it’s like top 3 best zelda games imo
my top 5 picks:
5. botw og pull
4. ocarina of time
3. totk
2. skyward sword
1. windwaker (only for having the best fight afterwards in the entire zelda series in my opinion)
Ocarina? Seeing that pull and immediately fading to a destroyed hyrule? You can’t lie to me
I gonna point something out the light dragon should exist in the age of calamity timeline as it already existed before teroco split the timeline yet because of terocos actions Zelda never went back and became the light dragon which causes a paradox in which if Zelda (light dragon) was pushed back to her human form she would be in the wrong timeline.
The TotK pull was probably the greatest moment I've ever experienced in gaming. Massive surprise and my mind was blown, I was in awe.
Once you said “master sword pulls” I immediately thought of wind waker
*Me who used the campfire glitch:* 😶
Here
Wind Waker had my favorite Sword Pull, but I'm biast because it was my favorite Zelda game as a kid
Honestly brawls is the most iconic to me. I always think of that scene when I think of the master sword
You gotta love the 26 sound effects overlapping with each other…
Yahaha.
