Yeah, I really wish I had brushed up on my sword anatomy before recording this, lol. Though, you’d still be comatose if you were to take a shot every time I said “guard” in that case. If it means anything, I just assumed “hilt” was another way of referring to the guard since you could call the handle a handle or grip, and sheath a sheath or scabbard. It seemed like every element of a sword had at least 1 other synonym from those two instances alone, so I just thought when people mentioned the hilt, they were referring to solely the guard. I did realize the error by the end of my recording session (I didn’t feel like recording over every single time I improperly used "hilt", lol), so I do refer to the guard properly at 19:23. That’s one less shot you guys would have taken.
I am back a month later. I was thinking about this video lol. I managed to nab a preorder for the Proplica master sword... My god, the images of it are beautiful. Accurate scabbard, accurate handle, accurate everything, AND SOUNDS. God I'm so excited. Hopefully they release more though because I fought tooth and nail to be able to get an order in! Godspeed.
Hearing him say 3d printing is "lazy" hurt my soul You wouldn't know genuine effort if it snapped it's pink bra in your face. The amount of time put into modeling, printing, sanding, priming, and painting a prop the size of a damn sword is probably more than anyone would be willing to put into something that would be sold. For as nitpicky a person you seem like, I would've expected you to understand the level of detail poured into it.
Bruh most 3d print users just get a model off the internet take off the support and boom they got a sword and they did it with the right color they don't even have to sand or paint it
Fr I’m making a master sword rn and when he said that comment it just stung. It’s taken me 2 months to make and apparently bc u can get files online it’s “lazy” and “cheap”. I wish people respected the hard work that people put in into creating.
@@Samy-e5i dude, you cant just print something the size of a sword in one go that would be a massive printer your gonna have to print in parts so attaching those securely and seamlessly would be awful then you have to sand that bumpy ass shit completely smooth to get it to not look like a rubber chicken, and that's hard for a small thing, so something as large as a sword would be extremely tedious , now you have paint it, painting it, well your painting a whole sword with meticulous detail because if you fuck it up to much you gotta sand it back down because of the paint building up, and that's after you've spent all this time getting it ready to print with knowledge that if you mess up to much or break it you have to do all this again and it could take who knows how long for you to get a print ready again, because yes if a slight little thing messes up while its printing it could mess up the whole print, so with the fact that this is multiple large prints it would be unlikely everything goes perfectly on the first go, so until i see you go through all this effort to make a perfect master sword don't call it lazy.
The full tang master sword is how the master sword would look and function as an irl blade made for actual combat. Yeah its not accurate to the games but it's accurate to real life function which I think is pretty neat
From the pictures it does look exactly like the one in BotW but the proplica line uses PVC, so when it comes out I'd wait for a reviewer to get their hands on it before I buy it.
Master Sword from LTP and several other instances have had a blue color or aura to the blade. They handed you diamonds and you apparently didn't have enough hearts to shoot the beam! Amazing job on the paper art though, Id have that stuff on display.
Calling 3D printed prop sellers "lazy" and how "the machine spits it out" shows how little you know about it. There is an entire community around 3d printing props, and as someone who does the hobby myself and has 3d printed a 100% accurate master sword from botw, the process is painstakingly tedious and labor-intensive. Not only do you have to have your printer settings tuned damn-near perfectly to get it to print right, the amount of sanding, priming, filling, and painting that takes place afterwards is insane, that is only if you have the dedication to make the prop look smooth and not printed, which is what I do. Think whatever you wanna think, but 3D printers do way more than just spit out models. They aren't magic machines.
Lol, yeah, and at 17:19 I basically say that by acknowledging ALttP was when the Master Sword debuted. Maybe if you had waited 44 seconds before commenting, you wouldn’t have had to point out something already addressed, my guy.
@@niftydrifter i mean i don't feel loke its a bad thing tho, they thought about something so they said it when they thought it, i can get getting frustrated about it but you shouldn't get hostile about it
Shoutout to Jawa's Junkyard and The Saber Trade for making the first ever purchasable Master Sword lightsaber; that thing is so cool. Could be better, though; an auxiliary button, and internal railings for easier chassis insertion would be nice. The normal button is also pretty easy to lose, so I feel like spring-loaded buttons would work better.
7:00 Well, here's the plot twist: the Master Sword's hilt it NOT purple. The thing is, just like the Master Sword has only been blue in one game, there's only one game in the series in which the Master Sword has been purple too. And that's Twilight Princess. So if it's not blue nor purple... Then what color is it? The answer is INDIGO. Indigo is the color that sits right in between blue and purple. But depending on the lighting, it can look bluer than it actually is. Also, one of the most common forms of colorblindness is one that makes people struggle to see shades of red, so for them the Master Sword always looks blue.
sorry i think it’s funny that at 18:00 “lazy 3d prints” are bad, but then at 18:04, the sword is good, even when, except for the blade, it’s visibly 3d printed💀
@@ej-1608 the blade itself is but the hilt is entirely 3d printed. an issue with many master sword replicas like those is that the blade outweighs the hilt and literally snaps out of it. obviously still visually cool but the irony in his observation was funny
That brass sword has been around for some time. I remember seeing it years ago, and back then I too initially believed it was emulating the look of the Master Sword from A Link to the Past. I do show that sword later in the video (16:50), but I’m not seeing the resemblance you guys seem to be seeing. The shaping of the blades and guards aren’t the same, the guards’ colors don’t really match, the handle on the official art is red with a completely different texture, and the hilt gems are different shapes. www.heroicreplicas.com/portfolio/link-to-the-past-master-sword That’s a link to a replica of the ALttP Master Sword by Heroic Replicas. It resembles what's depicted in the official art significantly better. Also, a couple other commenters here have brought up how this brass sword was created by some guy who wanted to make a more practical Master Sword, and manufacturers just took his design and pumped out a bunch of replicas of it. Considering there are many listings for this sword on Amazon and other sites- all with minor variations in not only the sword itself, but the scabbard as well- I’m led to believe the narrative that it’s merely a reimagining that was simply stolen and mass produced (and not someone’s attempt at replicating the ALttP’s Master Sword). Then again, I could be completely blind and not be seeing what you guys are.
@@niftydrifter Heroic Replicas also has a nigh 1:1 replica of the modern Master Sword, albeit extremely expensive. I got some custom work done from them a few years ago on an upgraded version of the cheap HF Murasama replica you'll see everywhere on the internet
never once did you notice the taper of the blade's edge going toward the tip as a detail, which many of these were not accurate with. also, the idea that the Master Sword should never change appearance or need upgrading is fantasy on your part. in the canon of the games, the power of the Master Sword can and does fade over time. it's a part of the plotline of Wind Waker that its power must be restored. in Ocarina of Time, it's able to send Link's consciousness seven years into the future, but by A Link to the Past, it's so weak that a random blacksmith can strengthen it with a standard tempering and you still need the Silver Arrows to help destroy Ganon. speaking of the upgrades in A Link to the Past, by the way: they don't literally look like the concept art you showed. it's concept art for a reason. the in-game sprite shows the same sword with updated color schemes, and in A Link Between Worlds - the direct sequel set in the same Hyrule which also makes available those upgrades - it's shown to be the Master Sword in its original form, just with a changed blade color. you _still_ aren't the Zelda expert you think you are. add to that your casual misogynistic comments, and we have ourselves a real loser. this fandom doesn't need your voice until you do some growing up.
Both you and the creator of this video need to chill (Although, before you get me wrong, you _are_ right.) I am a person that likes to imagine what it'd be like if the games were done better/in a different way (like mixing BotW and TotK's story, mechanics and looks to make the perfect modern Zelda game, or making a hypothetical TotK based HW: AoC mod), so I get what he says about Link from ALttP simply throwing the M-sword to something like a blacksmith or a pond to enhance it, however, the M-sword wasn't in its prime (actually, far from it), so it's comprehensible why the upgrades. On the other hand, the names... Yeah, maybe instead of tempered and golden sword, we could have gotten the tempered and golden Master Sword. Although, it was the sword's debut, so, as the video creator said in one of his comments, it's not that much of a problem. He could have been less picky about it, though. Also, one minor mistake in your comment- ALBW isn't ALttP's sequel, it comes after the oracles and LA (not Los Angeles, Link's Awakening lol), with a different Link from the other four games. It _is_ on the same Hyrule, and it's also a spiritual succesor to ALttP, because of the story, Dark World, items, etc. (Hero of Legend/New Hero of Legend, although the 2nd name is lazy). For reference, the follow-up to ALBW is TH (Triforce Heroes, which is barely a Zelda game in terms of story, although I love the mechanics except for offline game).
yeah you’re right. i clicked on this video bc i’m a massive zelda fan and i thought this would just be a fun vid poking fun at poorly made master sword replicas. but this dude gives off major incel vibes, i couldn’t keep watching after the second sexist remark he made.
Finally someone who thinks this too, I really wanted to enjoy this video but by the second random misogynistic attempt at a joke I was put off. Pair that with the major "ermmm achshually the Master sword should be like this all the time because its my favourite and that means its the best" energy and you get an uncomfortable user clicking off and removing their like.
Bro knows nothing about 3d printing. It is not a press button make product process. There is tons of work that goes into 3d modeling software to make a quality model. Even with the most expensive machines there is so much fine tuning and settings optimizations required to get a decent result. Getting the perfect settings for your machine can take months or even years. And even then there is hours upon hours of post processing, filling, sanding, painting, assembling, and even sometimes mold making. To call 3d printing lazy is just stubborn ignorance and dismissive of an artform you clearly dont understand. Sure, theres plenty of 3d printed garbage and crap looking products because the barrier of entry has gotten so affordable but most people dont put in the work to master this craft. But that is true with every artform.
Loved the crafts u showed at the beginning of the video, it reminded me of the ones i used to do when i was a kid myself! Gotta say tho, the casual mysogyny at 3:27 and 3:49 kinda put me off lol, maybe work on that :)

5:03, the guard does indeed break easily, i got this specific one as a gift in like 2014, i was carful with it, but it did end up breaking eventually, i still have it, the guard is pretty much all gone, and the blade wobbles, not the best quality in general
I dont know if you have seen but Proplica are bringing out an official master sword and it looks amazing, perfect PURPLE colour. I do want to get one from heroic replicas though as they are probably the best out here, the hylian shield also looks amazing by them.
You know, I unironically wanted to do a video like this, talking about the same swords and stuff and you beat me to time. But hey, congrats! It's still a great video, and I really liked it!
Boy, those boxy hand colored, papercraft really took me back. That was exactly the stuff I was making when I was a kid A couple months ago, I went into a comicbook shop at a mall in my area. and they'd recently begun stocking a few hard foam swords, from what looked like various anime. The one day I went in, my eye was instantly drawn to a master sword, hanging on the wall among them. The reason it caught my eye was because it was shockingly accurate. And when I say accurate I'm holding that to the very highest standard. It looked like it had been directly modeled from a piece of official skyward sword art. The proportions of the blade, guard, hilt and insignia were all perfect and I mean PERFECT. The wings attached correctly, everything's the right shape and thickness. I'm not sure if its one hundred percent lifesize, but it feels like it is. It's even big enough to be held with two hands. The only point of inaccuracy was the light blue blade, but it is tinted blue in a lot SS and Botw's official art and it glows blue in game anyway, so it's barely an issue. The thing is, I have no idea where they got it. I've never seen another one, and it had no tags or labels, just a sticker with $25 written in marker on it. It must have come from the place as the other hard foam swords they get, but I don't know who supplies them. If I ever find out, the first thing I'm doing is seeing about getting a sheath.
Yes! I used to do this too, except I’d make a paper DS and have a long strip of paper with a drawn-out 2D level and slide the DS along it. I was just copying stuff I had seen on RUclips at the time, so it wasn’t really original, lol. I also remember making a handheld based off the one depicted in this SpongeBob scene: ruclips.net/video/RuieI8kRfpA/видео.html and cutting out slabs of cardboard that acted as cartridges you could shove into it. These “cartridges” would have still images of gameplay that would be positioned right at the handheld’s screen when inserted. Good times.
You don’t UNDERSTAND how much I needed this video in my life, I HATEEEE these “replicas” and it’s so ugly or not even the right color or shape or even design, I’m extremely picky about these replicas just like yourself but this video brings peace to my soul knowing there’s someone out there just like me when it comes to a video game sword being inaccurate
About your issue with upgrading it in A Link to the Past, it still is a Base 30 Damage weapon, upgrading it to a 120 Damage Sword like in A Link to the Past is actually pretty sick. And the Regular Master Sword cannot even hurt Ganon in A Link to the Past without using spin attacks because Ganon has the Full Triforce in his Posession and the Holiness of the Master Sword isnt that powerful enough , it needs to become the Golden Sword
Yeah, a significant damage increase and Ganon being unfazed by anything weaker than the Golden Sword IS pretty awesome, but stuff like that is irrelevant to the point I was trying to make in that tangent. The issues I have with upgrading the Master Sword in ALttP is that it’s physically altered (the color schemes on the swords’ pixel art change) and the ways to upgrade it aren’t necessarily fitting. These two things make the sword seem like it wasn't so legendary after all. If I remember correctly, the Master Sword becomes the Tempered Sword after giving it to some blacksmiths, then becomes the Golden Sword after tossing it into some pool of water somewhere. Such methods of upgrading insinuate the weapon wasn’t initially created to be the strongest it could have been. You mean to tell me Link’s perilous journey to temper the Goddess Sword into the Master Sword in Skyward Sword wasn’t enough, and sometime later another incarnation of Link just had to throw it into some fancy water to make it way better? Hell, it's not even called the "Master Sword" after the upgrades, which further sullies the mythical weapon. Sure, if the sword is initially weak because of some excuse like dissipating power between games, that’s fine because it means the sword was initially much more powerful. If it can be upgraded, it should be through means less superficial (if that makes any sense). That’s why I mentioned Breath of the Wild’s Trial of the Sword being an exception, as it was merely unlocking the original, true power of the sword, and the method of getting said power wasn't something lame-ish like giving the sword to little blacksmiths who pound it with some hammers centuries after the legendary sword was born. If there were some Captain America game where you could collect pieces of metal to reinforce his iconic shield, that would diminish its strength and origin by implying this near-indestructible weapon wasn’t created to be the best it could have been, and could easily be made better by finding some random chunks of metal somewhere. There would have to be some appropriate lore like, “Oh, before Howard Stark [the creator of the shield] died, he left some notes detailing the locations of several previously-unknown pieces of vibranium he would have loved to add to the shield himself,” in such a case. Perhaps I should have been as explicit in the video as I am here, but I thought my mentioning of the BotW exception was sufficient. Hopefully, no one gets super angry about it, but if they do, maybe they’ll run into this comment for the clarification. This whole thing is super nitpicky, I know, but I guess as someone whose first Zelda game with the Master Sword wasn’t ALttP, I expect the weapon and its reputation to be consistent. Again, Nintendo likely didn’t realize the Master Sword was going to be such a staple back then, so it’s not really that big a deal.
@@niftydrifter I caj completely understand that, but the idea that the sword can become evem stronger was also used in other Scenarios, we simply seem to forget that. In Twilight Princess while the Sword is able to do an Exorcism on Link everytime he transforms into a Wolf when touching Zant's Shadow Crystals he made with Ganondorf's magic. But only after powering up the Master Sword with the Light of the Sols it can cut through the Fog made out of Shadow Crystals. And even Tears of the Kingdom showed us that the Master Sword can become stronger. Not only did Zelda purify it to be immune to Gloom Corrosion which caused it to shatter, it also does the same ammount of Damage while almost every other Melee Weapon got a debuff of around 1/3 of its former strength (which is most likely Because the injury of Link's arm might reduce the force he is swinging the Weapons with) Which means for example the Boulder Breaker was a 60 Damage weapon, now it is around 40 (38 is shown but claymores and similar 2 handed weapons deal 5% extra damage) The Royal Broad Sword made 36 in Botw, now it is 24 The royal Guard Sword deals 48 in Botw, in TotK it's just 30 And the Master Sword kept the same damage values, which does theoretically means it did indeed get a bit stronger, considering that it should have 20 if it has the debuff as well but instead it still has 30, and eventhough it does only 45 damage in the Awakened state you also should remember that 60 Damage in Botw would be equal to 40,which means the Master Sword is even in the Awakened state a bit stronger. it is just Link's Arm which is pretty weak.
@@Chris-gx1ei Lol, when it came to the weapon nerfs in TotK, I just thought of it from a game design perspective, where they clearly wanted you to power up the swords with Fuse to make them stronger, so I didn't think much of it. Link's arm being weaker is a good in-universe explanation, but I can't really agree that "60 damage in BotW is basically equal to 40 in TotK" especially since the sword does power up to 60 in TotK when fighting Phantom Ganons and Ganondorf. I understand where you're coming from, though. Everything else being weaker understandably makes the Master Sword seem stronger by comparison. The sword no longer being affected by Gloom after it's healed is a better example of a genuine upgrade, as it shows the sword had adapted over time, but that's a more relative addition there to explain how it can now stand a chance against this specific Ganondorf and doesn't really change anything gameplay-wise. This likely won't be referred back to in later games (unless Gloom were to make a return). When the next Zelda game that has the Master Sword comes out (and takes place after TotK), it likely wont seem any stronger just because it became immune to Gloom previously. As for Twilight Princess, I didn't mind imbuing the Master Sword with the power of the Sols since it didn't really change the look of it, only applying some light around the blade. On top of that, the power is only present when Link is in the Twilight Realm, so it always felt more like a surface-level addition to the Master Sword rather than a true upgrade (similar to fusing things to the sword in TotK). Like what I said about the Gloom immunity, the light of the Sols upgrade is more just a gimmick specific to Twilight Princess that has yet to be referred to in other titles since we haven't explored the Twilight Realm outside that one specific game. In the end, as long as there's no drastic change in appearance to the sword when "upgrading", I'm fine with it. Raw damage numbers don't matter much since they're relative to their respective games (I lump BotW and TotK together since they're directly connected), and neither do specific changes to the weapon that are there more so for lore/consistency (Gloom in TotK) and gimmicks (Dark Fog in TP). Something like A Link Between Worlds with the Master Ore upgrades is different, in my opinion. We permanently added more metal to the sword with 4 chunks of ore, and since it's blade is now yellow/golden to reflect that upgrade, it should stay that color in later games unless we had lore explaining how the additional metal was taken out of the sword between games somehow (let's ignore wacky theories and timeline stuff, lol). Essentially, the additional power the sword gets in TotK and TP is different compared to direct strength upgrades we see in ALBW and ALttP. I also just don't like the inconsistency of something like, "The Golden Sword was the only sword strong enough to damage Ganon in ALttP, but in Ocarina of Time the sword was capable of beating him without such an upgrade". I guess that would lead some people to argue OoT Ganon was actually weaker than ALttP Ganon, but at that point the discussion's just going to get tiresome, and I’ll just fall back to, “just keep the Master Sword’s look consistent”.
@@niftydrifterlate to the party, but oot ganon is significantly weaker than alttp's ganon, seeing as alttp takes place hundreds of years after oot during the fallen hero timeline. the master sword was essentially abandoned in a clearing for hundreds of years, bathed in sunlight and protected, yes, but while its base form might have once been enough to stop ganon, since ganon is in possession of the full triforce, not just the triforce of power, and has grown stronger in the hundreds if not thousands of years after killing the hero of time, it makes sense that the once unbeatable, divine sword doesnt have the power to do any direct damage to him anymore, thus upgrading and reforging the sword to be stronger makes sense, since that is technically what happens in skyward sword with the goddess sword once being strong enough to defeat demise, but needing to be forged into the master sword to defeat him once more. both windwaker and breath of the wild show the master sword having lost its power and needing to be restored before becoming the true blade of evils bane, so its not outside of lore to think that when the master sword is returned to its pedestal and loses a wielder, it slowly loses power until its able to be returned to its full glory, whether it be through trials, practice, or reforging. sorry for the rant but thats just how i see it, taking in account of the lore
@@themainnerd0566 Technically with the full Triforce Ganon is Potentially Omnipotent with minor limitations the moment he has it, I don't think he can get more Powerful than infinity over time with it. The moment you have the full Triforce under control you are almost as powerful as the Christian God, the Zelda Multiverse obeys your will when you have it - but they are some minor limitations to the Triforce, like for example that Members of the Gods Tribe cannot use it or that the Sacred Realm actually keeps its power within itself so that no one can simply wish himself out, or the Master Sword being the only weapon immune to its powers.

I have the costume prop at home and it’s not that bad if you just want a Master Sword replica for an affordable price. It’s just plastic, but it’s still better than many of the other swords shown in this video. In fact, I still have it on display to this day!
I really wanted to watch this video, I’m genuinely interested in the topic. But I couldn’t stop cringing at the casual misogyny that just KEPT popping up. I felt like someone was reading a 4chan board out loud to me.
I didn’t see this comment but the first comment caught me so off guard, you mean there’s MORE? To be clear, I stopped watching after a bit, I knew exactly what I was getting into, a 4-Chan/Reddit post made into a video.
I bought the one at 5:54 when I was like 11, I still have it over a decade later, but the tip is broken off and the wings on the guard have also gone throughout extensive use. It was a nice nostalgia hit to see what it originally looked like, haha. I also got the dark variation of the "weird blue lip" version as a christmas gift not too long ago, it makes for decent enough office decor.
Funny story, Bandai actually just announced they’re making a Replica Master Sword as part of the Proplica series. It’s over 40 inches long and it even has a sheath and looks really good.
So, I bought that Twilight Princess shield at an anime convention years and years ago. The handles broke from me just carrying it around. You dodged a bullet on that one. The screws holding the handles in place were less than half an inch thick.
You got offended over a four second joke in a 20 minute video a joke that by the way was making fun of (at least in my interpretation of it) only fans models
you made me watch a 20 minute long talk about interesting and unique master sword designs instead of making your own, because thats what i expected from a master sword replica, but you did say replicas so i cant argue
The Brass/ gold one is a mass produced copy of someone's attept to make a sword with realistic features as while the proper design is awesome, is quite cumbersome
I'm pretty sure that the 2nd sword is supposed to be the Master Sword from the artwork of "a link to the past" and the blue ones are supposed to be the one from the artwork of Skyward Sword
So for all your trash talking about 3D printing, its painfully obvious you know nothing about the process. I looked up the seller that you say want to buy from, and have shared pictures of his sword. The blade might be aluminum, but its unmistakable that the entire handle/hilt is 3D printed, and badly. Thick layer lines, and no kind of sanding or post-processing.
You sir, chose the BEST and I mean the BEST loz song to play as the background music. The minish village theme is the most beautiful song on the franchise
Even with dark link master sword, the blade would be considerably more black, either completely black sword and shield in the n64 game, or in 3D, the blade is slightly brighter, but it should still look darker than the normal master sword.
I pretty sure the guy was hating on how a huge portion of the pictures of humans wearing stuff on amazon and similar sites are just poorly photoshopped stock photos. "Fake" was being used in the same way one would call a tree octopus fake.
Bro was most likely making fun of talentless onlyfans girls or twitch streamers. He was not talking about all women. He was just making a joke about some women who are making money only because they are pretty.
I went to a shop yesterday called “Manga Dori” (it’s in Paris), which sells actual metal swords from various games such as Final Fantasy (there are 3 Cloud swords), but also Master swords from different Zelda games (there are 6, I think, and 2 of them are Dark Link versions) I’d say they’re pretty affordable, with the most expensive one being around 115€, and the cheapest one being 45€. Plus, they’re accurate Edit: btw they don’t only sell these types of swords, they also sell many others, like A CANE SWORD, and also figurines
There is theory that says that the Master sword from wind waker is a replica made by the sages and the sheika, thats why it looks different and well blue. When Link left the adult timeline the Master sword left the timeline with him. And maybe the green and gold master sword might be an attempt of making a nice looking golden master sword from a Link between worlds
Also totk now confirms that the master sword can regenerate and empower itself. The fusion mechanic means its blade takes on the form of the fusion item. The master sword can just do whatever they want it to. It’s a cool weapon because it doesn’t always need to look the same, it’s allowed to be unique in each game to fit the aesthetic
7:04 that one was used by a dude here in my country, he made a mold out of it and made the sword with some aluminum alloy, he sells those for like 111 dollars, they look really nice
just wanted to share that i also made a hylian shield when i was younger as a part of my video game paper crafts phase and it looks almost identical to the one in the video. mine was made with a bunch of layers though and it was more 3d, but my mom did most of the work tbh
I would like to say I worked on a prop master sword before and when buying paint for it I did realize that the blade is infact blue but not to that extent. What I’m saying is you don’t realize it till you have to color the blade and metal just doesn’t look right. The blade is a very washed, slightly blue color and tinting the blade slightly blue looks far nicer compared to simply coloring it metal. Another thing is my master sword is 3d printed but what I noticed is a lot of people simply sell a file slapped onto a printer in colored filament for like 50 bucks. I actually made mine in all white, painstakingly sanded it to remove layer lines, used gap filler to hide all the seems, painted my hand and airbrushed the parts, and on top of this I made the colors much more accurate to the game (particularly botw) I’m considering opening a shop if I get efficient at making such a detailed product with permission from the file distributer ofc.
Fun fact: if you actually colorpick the botw master swords handle, it gives you a very dark, desaturated shade of blue, and not just a "oh its kinda in the blue range on the color wheel", no it is FULLY in blue, so thats probably part of the reason blue doesn't look bad on the master sword, despite it being technically inaccurate.
I wish they made replicas for all of the zelda swords. I want a proper master sword, but I would also love a Razor Sword, Gilded Sword, Biggoron Sword, or Ganon's Wind Waker Swords.
Honestly, yeah, replicas can be difficult to get right, and I feel the pain of trying to look for something that's also as accurate as possible. Just instead of the Master Sword with me, it's actually the Four Sword.
The picky nature of trying to get the RIGHT replica is so crazy. I’m glad I’m not the only one who does this. I got the kids sword only because it’s accurate (the sword needs to be a little thicker to)
I can almost guarantee it's because Nintendo owns copy rights to the Master Sword. Someone else selling a perfect replica would be murky legal waters at best, so more than likely they all opt for it to be slightly different to not get sued.
a personal theory of mine about the master sword upgrades in alttp and albw is that maybe the sword was weakened due to it being the bad timeline and never having been picked up by the hero of time and rusting away so it needs to be restored
There's no continuity or canon in these games. I guess you could say it's a Legend... I mean myth :P Just enjoy them for their own individual thing and leave it at that. Not everything has to be the sequel.
The first master sword replica that you showed actually is accurate however its meant to mimic the "a link to the past" master sword which is before the master sword was blue and was rather that goldish color.
Update on the Master sword replica, nintendo just recently announced an official Master Sword replica thats gonna be available in japan and i think america too!
The cross guard on that sword does indeed break. I know from experience. also, the scabbard's design is just from gold-colored stickers, which start peeling off before long.
My favorite parts are the incel shit and lack of understanding 3d printing props. Especially since the last one he complained about had clearly 3d printed parts.
In concept I like the idea of the upgrading the master sword in ALttP since you go through the game upgrading the other equipment in your arsenal, that being said I agree the master sword is so strong why upgrade it. I do actually like the design of the golden sword from the game but I have yet to see anyone make an accurate replica to that sword. Maybe that can be a topic to look into if you ever make another video like this. Great vid!!
One thing I noticed that at the VERY end of a Link to the Past, Link, will actually throw his master sword in the dark world great fairy fountain inside the pyramid of ganon and a great fairy will surface and give you an entirely different better sword! So technically at the end of that game VS Ganon you aren't even using the master sword anymore but rather an entirely different sword!!! Which means the ALTTP master sword featured on the box cover art may in fact be a different sword!!! O.O Another thing to note is Link picked up fake swords in that game and the blacksmiths also completely altered the original master sword from the forest so the timeline thing isn't likely possible maybe for master sword continuity??? O.o The last sword in game was also completely gold! Looks nothing like the master sword in the rest of the timelines.
By the way, the reason why that master sword was blue, it’s because in breath of the wild where if you are near a guardian the master sword, would glow, but in tears of the kingdom, if you are near an enemy the master sword with glow or decayed master sword with glow
I actually have the first one with the blue blade, it’s pretty nice. Only reason I let the blade being blue pass was because of how it glows in botw/totk. That and I was desperate and that one had a nice hilt and a sheath
I bought a replica on Amazon. It was like $100 total, and it wasn’t that bad, it does have its errors, and I acknowledge them, but for just sitting on my windowsill, in the sheath looking awesome? Can’t complain at all. Yeah it’s not “perfect” but I kinda knew it wasn’t gonna be. I could absolutely modify it to be perfect. Truth is, I just wanted to have a cool replica of something from my favorite game series in my room. For that purpose, it serves it well.
Funny enough, I did a review of the "most accurate" foam Master Sword that i got from Amazon today. To be fair, I agree it's not perfect, but it's WAY better than many Master Sword replicas I have seen. I wouldn't want to carry a metal replica for cosplay though.
Watching this hurts on so many levels, you make diy paper and cardboard crafts. Yet it’s too difficult for you to add some paint to something a little off color or sand or file down a rounded end.. and every decent looking master sword just has some minor inconvenience and I just wana tear my heart out every time you move on.

The amount of time put into modeling, printing, sanding, priming, and painting a prop the size of a damn sword is probably more than anyone would be willing to put into something that would be sold.
For as nitpicky a person you seem like, I would've expected you to understand the level of detail poured into it.

Literally I wish more people pointed this out

4:01 thats the master sword from A Link To The Past, that's why it looks so different
Was about to say the same thing right from the official artwork.
That brass sword has been around for some time. I remember seeing it years ago, and back then I too initially believed it was emulating the look of the Master Sword from A Link to the Past. I do show that sword later in the video (16:50), but I’m not seeing the resemblance you guys seem to be seeing. The shaping of the blades and guards aren’t the same, the guards’ colors don’t really match, the handle on the official art is red with a completely different texture, and the hilt gems are different shapes.
www.heroicreplicas.com/portfolio/link-to-the-past-master-sword
That’s a link to a replica of the ALttP Master Sword by Heroic Replicas.
@niftydrifter actually nevermind apparently you mentioned it in the video and I just wasn't listening actively
based on the cover art maybe
never once did you notice the taper of the blade's edge going toward the tip as a detail, which many of these were not accurate with.
also, the idea that the Master Sword should never change appearance or need upgrading is fantasy on your part. in the canon of the games, the power of the Master Sword can and does fade over time. it's a part of the plotline of Wind Waker that its power must be restored. in Ocarina of Time, it's able to send Link's consciousness seven years into the future, but by A Link to the Past, it's so weak that a random blacksmith can strengthen it with a standard tempering and you still need the Silver Arrows to help destroy Ganon. speaking of the upgrades in A Link to the Past, by the way: they don't literally look like the concept art you showed. it's concept art for a reason. the in-game sprite shows the same sword with updated color schemes, and in A Link Between Worlds - the direct sequel set in the same Hyrule which also makes available those upgrades - it's shown to be the Master Sword in its original form, just with a changed blade color.

this fandom doesn't need your voice until you do some growing up.
Both you and the creator of this video need to chill
(Although, before you get me wrong, you _are_ right.)
I am a person that likes to imagine what it'd be like if the games were done better/in a different way (like mixing BotW and TotK's story, mechanics and looks to make the perfect modern Zelda game, or making a hypothetical TotK based HW: AoC mod), so I get what he says about Link from ALttP simply throwing the M-sword to something like a blacksmith or a pond to enhance it, however, the M-sword wasn't in its prime (actually, far from it), so it's comprehensible why the upgrades.

A couple months ago, I went into a comicbook shop at a mall in my area. and they'd recently begun stocking a few hard foam swords, from what looked like various anime.
This reminds me of when I would make cardboard gameboys, and had paper games inside that you would pull up and down the paper to play
Yes! I used to do this too, except I’d make a paper DS and have a long strip of paper with a drawn-out 2D level and slide the DS along it. I was just copying stuff I had seen on RUclips at the time, so it wasn’t really original, lol.
I also remember making a handheld based off the one depicted in this SpongeBob scene:
ruclips.net/video/RuieI8kRfpA/видео.html
and cutting out slabs of cardboard that acted as cartridges you could shove into it. These “cartridges” would have still images of gameplay that would be positioned right at the handheld’s screen when inserted.
Good times.

@@niftydrifter
I caj completely understand that, but the idea that the sword can become evem stronger was also used in other Scenarios, we simply seem to forget that.
Not only did Zelda purify it to be immune to Gloom Corrosion which caused it to shatter, it also does the same ammount of Damage while almost every other Melee Weapon got a debuff of around 1/3 of its former strength (which is most likely Because the injury of Link's arm might reduce the force he is swinging the Weapons with)
Which means for example the Boulder Breaker was a 60 Damage weapon, now it is around 40 (38 is shown but claymores and similar 2 handed weapons deal 5% extra damage)
The Royal Broad Sword made 36 in Botw, now it is 24
The royal Guard Sword deals 48 in Botw, in TotK it's just 30
And the Master Sword kept the same damage values, which does theoretically means it did indeed get a bit stronger, considering that it should have 20 if it has the debuff as well but instead it still has 30, and eventhough it does only 45 damage in the Awakened state you also should remember that 60 Damage in Botw would be equal to 40,which means the Master Sword is even in the Awakened state a bit stronger.
it is just Link's Arm which is pretty weak.
The moment you have the full Triforce under control you are almost as powerful as the Christian God, the Zelda Multiverse obeys your will when you have it - but they are some minor limitations to the Triforce, like for example that Members of the Gods Tribe cannot use it or that the Sacred Realm actually keeps its power within itself so that no one can simply wish himself out, or the Master Sword being the only weapon immune to its powers.
what’s with the random misogyny?
tf u on about
Fr tho, the "mildly active girl with no talents" and "fake gamer girl" bs put me off so badly... it's 2024 i thought we were past this shit
Love the video! I'm a fan of RUclips which pushed me to wa-
But actually, I love the video, and personally believe you should be a bigger RUclipsr with the quality of the content.
I felt like someone was reading a 4chan board out loud to me.
literally pissed me off so much
@@drewbuescherreal
And this is why I always check the comments first, thanks man
Not 4chan XD
“Who wants a black master sword” ME, I WOULD I think they look sick
So, I bought that Twilight Princess shield at an anime convention years and years ago. The handles broke from me just carrying it around. You dodged a bullet on that one. The screws holding the handles in place were less than half an inch thick.
Always a good day when nifty uploads 😁
If it's a joke @ 3:30 or not, it left a bad taste. I was interested in the content and now I just have the ick from you.

@@steezuz_christdid you just have a stroke? you good??
You got offended over a four second joke in a 20 minute video a joke that by the way was making fun of (at least in my interpretation of it) only fans models
@@SumGum cause its gross. Get the bag however you can. Aint no shame.
you made me watch a 20 minute long talk about interesting and unique master sword designs instead of making your own, because thats what i expected from a master sword replica, but you did say replicas so i cant argue
1:17 sonic be rolling around, since you mentioned him aswell as having zelda content, imma sub now
The Brass/ gold one is a mass produced copy of someone's attept to make a sword with realistic features as while the proper design is awesome, is quite cumbersome
Isnt it the design from sadiversity? Just in gold?
I'm pretty sure that the 2nd sword is supposed to be the Master Sword from the artwork of "a link to the past" and the blue ones are supposed to be the one from the artwork of Skyward Sword
I had all of these problems when I tried to find a good replica years ago it’s actually crazy there isn’t a half decent replica under 300 dollars
OOT 3D was my first Zelda game too bro! (and yes, it was the Nintendo selects version)
This dude… he had to throw in the women hate with the sonic😂 tell me you’re bitchless without telling me you’re bitchless
Huh
I'm sayin brahh
Oh, go dilate.
Etsy’s selection has immensely improved since the creation of this video.
I went to a shop yesterday called “Manga Dori” (it’s in Paris), which sells actual metal swords from various games such as Final Fantasy (there are 3 Cloud swords), but also Master swords from different Zelda games (there are 6, I think, and 2 of them are Dark Link versions)
I’d say they’re pretty affordable, with the most expensive one being around 115€, and the cheapest one being 45€.
Plus, they’re accurate
Edit: btw they don’t only sell these types of swords, they also sell many others, like A CANE SWORD, and also figurines
It is supposed to be the real master sword in a diffrent artstyle!
@@Videospiel-Man5730 I don't think so, its to different to be the real master sword.
@@AlexxxMYLSince2013 Dude adult ootlink looks completly diffrent in Wind waker so why shouldnt the sword look diffrent too!?
@@Videospiel-Man5730 because when Link was send back in time by Zelda he left with the master sword, leaving Toon Link's timeline without it.
"why is a shield tall" lol , tp was tryna be realistic and gritty, did you forget ?
Actually, the hilt of the Master Sword is indigo which is in between blue and violet (purple).
i would say 🤓 but the video is also very 🤓 so you get a pass
Honestly that paper Master Sword looks pretty good!
Well, you’re gonna be happy when the Master Sword replica for Tears Of The Kingdom’s anniversary comes back in stock!
The master sword is blue in OOT, it’s more on the purple side in SS, but in tears of the kingdom it’s back to being more blue than purple
Bro started off with an absolute banger of a Zelda game, 3DS or N64!
Drawing them yourself I think makes them way cooler.
5:10
I actually purchased that one. It came with a strap so you could wear it. It's pretty good for a sword.
This is a very very good video. The research, editing, and overall talk wins my heart.
a personal theory of mine about the master sword upgrades in alttp and albw is that maybe the sword was weakened due to it being the bad timeline and never having been picked up by the hero of time and rusting away so it needs to be restored
There's no continuity or canon in these games. I guess you could say it's a Legend... I mean myth :P
Just enjoy them for their own individual thing and leave it at that. Not everything has to be the sequel.
The first master sword replica that you showed actually is accurate however its meant to mimic the "a link to the past" master sword which is before the master sword was blue and was rather that goldish color.
My first game was og ocarina of time, but any is a good first time experience, it made me a fan of the series
20:07 when the sword is too hard to pull out of the stone so you just take with the stone still in it
Update on the Master sword replica, nintendo just recently announced an official Master Sword replica thats gonna be available in japan and i think america too!
Link. As in give me the Link to Link's sword... :P
The cross guard on that sword does indeed break. I know from experience. also, the scabbard's design is just from gold-colored stickers, which start peeling off before long.
I have the wind waker master sword replica, it's not that bad, still a great sword. Could've been more accurate but what can ya do?
THE GOAT IS BACK!!!!!!!!
Another thing to note is Link picked up fake swords in that game and the blacksmiths also completely altered the original master sword from the forest so the timeline thing isn't likely possible maybe for master sword continuity??? O.o
The last sword in game was also completely gold!
Today, Bandai Spirits is making a Life-Size Master Sword. FINALLY!
Funny enough, I did a review of the "most accurate" foam Master Sword that i got from Amazon today. To be fair, I agree it's not perfect, but it's WAY better than many Master Sword replicas I have seen.
I wouldn't want to carry a metal replica for cosplay though.
The best materials for cosplay / swinging arround are wood and foam after all a metal sword is straight up a weapon!
I own the oot master sword replica and he was absolutely right in his assumption that the ends of the guard will break. Mine did 😢
Watching this hurts on so many levels, you make diy paper and cardboard crafts. Yet it’s too difficult for you to add some paint to something a little off color or sand or file down a rounded end.. and every decent looking master sword just has some minor inconvenience and I just wana tear my heart out every time you move on.
how u gunna be that picky and broke at the same time
