- A while back (more like a few months ago) someone asked me to compare two popular amber fragrances - Ambre 114 by Histoires de Parfums and Absolute Aphrodisiac by Initio Parfums. I personally find them to be quite different, as you will see.
Have you tried these two? What are your thoughts?

Okaaaayyyy so, slight hiccup. I was just going through my “what video am I filming this week” list and realised that I actually compared the wrong fragrances in this video!! 🤦♀️

You just read my mind. I am looking for an amber perfume I can enjoy. I have been using a decant of Ambre Russe (Parfum d' Empire) and I like it but I would like something less boozy and just warm and cozy. I do not enjoy herb or very spiced ones either. I ordered decants of bengale rouge and grand soir. Let's see.... Thank you for your review of these ones !

Processed food. 😆 Those sweet fragrances do seem to take over don't they! Haven't worn 114 in years. In fact I may have lost my decant. 😄 But I always love hearing your thoughts Cherie. Not easy creating a truly unique vanilla scent these days. Unless you're using the $$$ stuff. Bound to be some overlap.

thanks for doing the comparison of amber fragrances. Hearing the differences with several fragrance comparisons was helpful. I have only sampled two of the fragrances you have shown. I bought Bengal Rouge the day after I sampled it because I loved it so, so much. I have a soft spot for cassia and cinnamon notes in fragrance. That perfume really was a love at first wear for me. I have Ani also, and enjoy the lemon and patchouli notes in that fragrance. I am curious about some of the other fragrances you mentioned. I will sample a few when I get the opportunity to do so. I have sampled Amouage Material Woman, which I might consider an amber also. Thanks again for the video! - Jenn

Mugler ambre redoutable is delicious and my favorite amber. People that want complex amber may find it boring but I think it’s perfect.
I don’t think things have to always be complex to be enjoyable. I really love the Mirroir des Majestes - Mugler does fantastic ambers

I totally get what you mean by Initia smelling more "processed"... I sometimes think that it's base-heavy, where all you can smell sometimes is the base notes... I love the complexity of 114, but after 3 sprays nobody could really smell it on me...
Yeah 114 is definitely closer. It lasts a long time on me but not a huge projector. Do you have a favourite Amber?
AA works every single time. The clue is in the name.

Ohhhhhhhh this is an excellent question! And I think will require a whole video in itself. I have a couple that I love on Matt as go-tos but there are others in the sampler that I also enjoy. Do you mind if I hold off answering to film the video?
