    Anyone else reach for their own fragrances when Cherie launches into her descriptive narratives ? Just me? I'm okay with that.... 🥰
    Most approachable fragrance currently (Montale's Intense Cafe and any cozy fragrance for that matter because it's -10 degrees in the dead of winter here !)

    Working from home, I usually wear this type of perfumes when I have to go at the office. Molecules 01 + Iris, Tardes, Chance Eau Tendre or Argos Pour Femme are my go too lately. I don’t like musc but I do love Narcisso Rodriguez in the rectangular bottle. I also wear Poudrée but I decluttered the red cube I had. for Her in the black bottle is also very approachable to my nose.

    Great topic, thank you ! I love watching your videos😊 You are right about Poudrée, it is pronounced pou-dray, and it means « powdered « , like a woman who wears powder. Your accent was perfect !

      Thanks Lovely! Oh I’m glad I didn’t butcher it haha it’s one thing to google pronunciation, it’s another to make your mouth do it 😂

    Aw, sorry your shoulder is still bothering you. Hope it feels better soon! I had to go find my sample of Xi'an to sniff along. I'd forgotten how nice it is. Also love Oh La La and definitely need to try the rest of these.

    Great topic! I love Splendiris! For me it’s much as you described. I get a beautiful humid Iris floral with ambrette in the dry down. I’m curious if you notice it as well? Maybe it’s the Vetiver that I actually smell? In any case it is my favorite Dusita.

    • @TheTopNote
      @TheTopNote  11 месяцев назад

      I imagine the ambrette contributed to the “vegetal” smell for me :)

    Oh no. Sorry to hear you are still sore!
    Fun idea for a video. I actually dislike a couple of these: NR Poudree and Drop D’Issey. I’ve grown up with Lilacs and have them in our yard and have been on the hunt for the perfect lilac scent for a while now. Drop D’Issey was too sweet for me to wear, but I’m sure it would be pleasant to smell on someone else.
    I always try and pick something likeable when I know I’ll be in close proximity to people. Meetings, or appointments or meeting new people. I also go for clean, musky, pretty florals, or vanilla.

    Interesting picks! And is it strange that I know what you mean by "french soap"? 😄 Florals of the region maybe? Just like italian soap to me instantly brings to mind citruses and herbs. 🌿Absolutely agree with the opening of Splendiris. 😉

    This was wonderful. My Mojave Ghost hair perfume smells mysterious (lasts ~15 min.).😂. How long does the perfume last?
    My most approachable perfumes are: Rose Pivoini by Nicolai Parfumeur, Malabah by Penhaligans (sweet spicy) and a Mimosa Pour Moi by L’Artisan Parfumeur.
    Wish list: La Chasse aux Papillons by L'Artisan Parfumeur (light tubarose) and maybe Desert Ghost perfume.

    • @TheTopNote
      @TheTopNote  10 месяцев назад

      oh haha I have the hair perfume and the perfume, I think they last about the same on me but I definitely get more than 15 mins. I wonder if you are a bit anosmic to it I have a sneaky feeling there's quite a lot of aromachemicals in it? Oh! Rose Pivoine is lovely! I have a travel size of that one and thank you for reminding me about it. ❤

    Love your list! I always appreciate your perspectives and insights.
    ps- Would you believe that Narcisco Rodriguez fragrances are not readily available at all US department stores? At least on the west coast. I’ve only smelled one and I had to order a sample!

    • @TheTopNote
      @TheTopNote  11 месяцев назад

      Wow! Over here they are in every department store and also a few chemists (drugstores) thank you for sharing! I had a feeling I was being generalist when I said that, I’m glad you clarified. It’s a good reminder that not all regions get certain things. ❤️

      @@TheTopNote It’s an interesting topic, isn’t it. Do we love how accessible, for the most part, products are to us in this modern world? Or is there something to be said about the intrigue of not having items within easy reach? I’m of two minds about it, actually! You probably have good thoughts on this, as I take it that Australia doesn’t always have immediate access to certain products? What’s your take?
      Cheers and thanks, as always!

    Such a great list! If you smelled Pikovaya Dama by Xerjoff, how do you compare it do Dia Woman? which one do you prefer?

    • @TheTopNote
      @TheTopNote  11 месяцев назад

      They are very different. Dia smells more clean and floral soapy, PD is a little more waxy to me with an ambery base. PD smells more formal and though I can wear it in the day I would be more likely to reach for Dia in the day and PD for an evening event.
