Far out these look so gooooooooooooooooooooooood
Thanks maaaaaaate!
This channel is slowly becoming my favorite channel. Over zorpazorp.
@@ryanhall9583 ooooft! Let’s goooo! Cheers mate, very kind! 😁
Love them all! This gives me the perfect excuse to go for another venture into the highlands to grab a bag of bark.
Perfect! Nature walk and hobby resource collection in one, match made in heaven. Just need to add whisky and you can't get any better!
@@dicedrinksanddadjokes can lick the bark for a treat too
@@JMACCSArmiesOfMiddleEarth what does that even mean? What the hell kind of trees do you have in Scotland?!
@@dicedrinksanddadjokes Love me some fungus
@@JMACCSArmiesOfMiddleEarth haha that's what makes you such a fungi...
Flocking love a good terrain video.
More to come! Thanks for the support Cammy!
Never would have thought of using pine bark for rocks. Great video, as always. Thank for the sweet content.
Thank you for watching 😁
Saw this the other day and this morning I went for a walk through the woods. Now I'm part way through a rocky outcropping piece and I'm already in love with using bark! Thanks for another brilliant video, and for opening my eyes to a new material that will become a staple going forward!
That’s awesome Jake! Thanks for sharing 😁
I love this! Never considered using bark for rocks, brilliant thank you!
Thank you! Cheers!
There are two types of persons: Those who piss (spray) with the wind outdoors and those who piss (spray) against the wind. :D
Your rocks look great! I love them.
I just love the smell! 😅🤣
Wow those turned out absolutely AMAZING!!! If i can find the right bark around me I'm 100% incorporating it into my next build.
Go for it! They can work really well for rock faces too and a lot lighter than plaster cast rocks. Cheers for watching man!
So what do you do when the Mrs catches you using the oven to cook bark? 😅
I’d just tell her she’s barking up the wrong tree 😅
@@dicedrinksanddadjokes 🤣🤣🤣
Sweet looking scatter, dude. Oh, and... sweet looking hammock too :D
Haha thanks Mike 😁
These look brilliant, mate!
I could definitely learn from your drybrushing.
The jokes... Not so much 😂
Haha thanks man! I’ll keep working on those jokes then 😅
@@dicedrinksanddadjokes ach, you'll be fine 😂
Great video as always. Love the relaxed style of your content. I just wished I had those type of trees near where I live, they look great!
Thanks so much mate! Glad you like it 😊
Love this, simple with amazing results👌🏻
Thanks man!
remember kids, when spray painting outside, make sure the wind is blowing away from you. Looks good! I love using bark for this stuff. My first bits of scatter terrain I deffinitely didn't cook it. I wonder how that's been going. It was a couple years ago. They still LOOK fine...
Hahaha yeah I was a bit silly there! Cooking the bark is just insurance. They'll probably be fine but you never know....
These are outrageous man! Love your work 👌🏻
Glad you like them!
Bloody Warg Attack from real cliff tops ❤ love them Adam..gonna have a go!! Gonna bake me some bark
Haha yeah go for it Bruce! Just please make sure you watch it cooking and don't burn your house down! 😅
@@dicedrinksanddadjokes OK will do Adam...😆
Awesome stuff, they look amazing! So far I've been too scared to do the leopard spotting technique 😅 You've given me hope to go passed the "it looks like shit" stage 😂
Haha yes! There is always hope.
Today I was wondering how to paint rocks that I want to make out of tree bark and along comes your video. 😂 Thank you so much! Greetings from Germany
Haha perfect timing then, thanks for watching 😁
Gorgeous effect and super tutorial buddy!
Glad you liked it mate 😊🙏
Another amazing video, nice job. Love the format
Cheers James! Thanks for your continued support mate 😁
Those are very nice pieces, and they work with any scale, too.
Thanks Glenn! 😁
I won't lie, but they are some of the best rocky outcroppings for wargaming I've ever seen. Great work. The problem for me is there are no pine forests anywhere near me.
Thanks so much! Yeah that is an issue, I’ve not seen chunks this size for sale but you can buy smaller pieces.
Best I've seen so far and I've seen dozens.
Thank you so much! 😊
Great terrain. You make it look so easy but I know its a skill in itself. But will definitely use bark now, thanks, great tip.
Have fun! Thanks for the watch and comment Josh 😁
Beautiful work. Thanks!
Many thanks!
Great stuff! I think I'll have to try this technique. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks for watching!
Adam these turned out great your board looks like great fun to play on! gotta get lochie over for a batrep!
Yeah man one of these days!
Great Idea, definitely need to try.
Go for it! Good luck 😄
Man, absolutely awesome
Thank you! 😁
I love the final result. But I want to do mine universal colors, so they will go with different game mats. Or I will have to build multiple sets. I also actually consider buying set from Dungeons and Lasers Elven Forrest, which has some nice plastic rocks plus trees.
Fair enough man good luck!
Damn, living near the redwoods must be an absolute treasure trove for bark!
Yeah its pretty handy haha! Also great for mountain biking 😁
Really great tutorial!!
Glad you liked it! 😁
INCREDIBLE!!!!
Thank you! 🙏
Nicely done.
Thank you! Cheers!
That's really amazing!
Can I achieve a cool, Necron matching stone look with Leadbelcher, Bold Titanium White, Yellow, Teseract Glow and a black primer? I'm new to TT and that's all paints I have atm :D
Thanks! Can always give it a go I guess, a big part of this hobby is experimenting with different techniques and being creative with what we have. Good luck!
What kind of glue did you use to glue the “rocks” into bases? Looking so great❤
Thank you! The glue is liquid nails. You get it at hardware stores. 😊
This is a great idea! Couldnt be cheaper or easier imo
Yeah it's a real budget-friendly way to make some awesome terrain!
Hi those rocks looked really cool and so did all the flocking and ground cover but I noticed you were sprinkling it all on but not reapplying glue. How did all that stick?? Did you spray it with something afterwards?
Yes I did! After my patreon shoutouts I showed spraying the whole thing with matt sealant.
Great video
Thanks!
Thanks for the video! The thing I missed is: how does all the flock which you apply in the end hold?
A spray of matte sealant 😁
@@dicedrinksanddadjokes Oh, nice! Thanks need to try that out!
Awesome looking! I am almost finished with my own, but where do you get the sealant for the flock? Is it watered down pva in a spray bottle? Cheers!
Thanks buddy! I make it myself with modpodge and water. I made a video about it actually! 😆
This terrain tutorial totally Rocks 🎺 *poor joke horn noise* 🎺
Haha yes to the puns! 👏👏👏
Any recommendations for Grey and white for dry brushing I'm in nz as well and used woodland scenics for the under tones
Hey mate! I just used cheap acrylic paint from Bunnings or the Warehouse. Nothing special. Mix together white and black till you get the grey tone you're after. Hope that helps 😊
Deffo giving this a try - is that a diy spray booth?
Yes it is!
@@dicedrinksanddadjokes got any plans or tips?
@@Wormixy I used an old computer fan attached to some ducting. This was attached to a hole cut in the bottom of a plastic container. Across this I tape a paper towel. Seems to work well enough.
Great video and great terrain! Do you get any warping on those bases?
Negligible. They’re small enough and thick enough that the warping is insignificant. Thanks for watching 😊
Amazing.
Cheers mate! 🙏
Just found a bunch of bark how do you stop it from crumbling or dose the spry help seal it all in thanks love the videos
Thanks buddy. Yeah the sealant should help. Might have to do multiple coats if it’s especially crumbly. That and handle them with care 😉 Good luck!
i have a deja vu i already said, but why you spray AGAINST the wind in 3:47? 😂😂😂
It wasn't intentional haha! 😅🤦♂️
What Kind of paint are you using ??? 😊
Cheap acrylic paint out of a tube 😁
Hi Adam, what did you use to seal the ground cove of the board? Matt modge podge? What is this?
I'm making a gaming board and am up to this stage but not sure what to use.
Cheers, keep up with the awesome videos
Mod podge is a brand. It’s a glue and sealer/varnish mix. I have a video in which I make the matte sealant using it. It’s really easy. Hope that helps, let me know how you get on.
Absolute champion
@@AlistairLeslieGraham no worries mate!
The matte sealant recipe I got from your video worked a bloody treat! Cheers
@@AlistairLeslieGraham awesome mate!
I cant understand with what you seal the flock. Can you write me please?
It’s a mix of water and modpodge. I have a video showing how I make it.
that liquid nails looks delicious
😆😆
👏👏👏
parotdog? kiwi? im in
Haha yes! Love me some Parrotdog! Great kiwi drop
So let me get this right…. You bash off all of the straight edges, then the next step is to use a saw to cut straight edges on them
Watch the video all the way through to see why! 😆
It's what we do.
We break off the straight edge before we cut a straight edge.
Just like we walk past the rock to pick up a piece of bark that we then attempt to transform into a rock.
Just like we make trees out of wires and foliage out of kitchen sponges. Or grass out of sawdust.
Really if you think about it this whole hobby is kinda silly. Kinda like the "sibling hobby" of wargaming which is basically just grownups playing with dolls.
@@irtehdar2446 And we spend hours making model terrain instead of just going for a walk.
@@SheepWaveMeByeBye
Over in the sci-fi crowd they're straight up poetic making post apocalyptic landscapes out of plastic trash. 😃
Looks awesome! But far from cheap and easy 😂
Thanks!
I dont think having all the tools and space you have to create those terrains are cheap by any means. No offense
If you aren't able to even paint minis, you probably don't need to worry about terrain
@@the_uggh ¿?
Wow dickhead alert 🚨
@@guillermomartinez5806if you cant afford that, then grab rock. Grab bark. Place on table. Done.
