Great stuff, Marty. I would LOVE to see you make a how-to-play "Matte Kudesai" by King Crimson! :-)
That's odd, I went to the link, subscribed, gave my text #, got to the site, the pentatonic course you mentioned never came up. Hummm.....
Liking the new 335!
Guys: that's what Rush plays in that big run in Xanadu, but in groups of 4!!!
Hi marty went to the link it asks for a voucher code but have no idea were to find this code thanks Trevor
Thanks for all the free lessons. I do find them very, very useful. Have just taken up the guitar at 74.
I see that it’s already been a year, how’s your guitar journey going so far?
Hope you’re still sticking to it a year later. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Hi Marty! I'm really thankful for this video, now because of you I finally know some scales which will help me a lot in my guitar journey. Glad you still upload these.
Rock on!
@@MartyMusic with your help I will. Keep up the good work!
been following you for ab 10 years on my music journey and still learning from you sir! the G.O.A.T. of guitar teachers.
huge thanks for all you do, Marty.
Glad to see your still jamming and giving free RUclips lessons. You really have helped me and a lot of people, and I appreciate it greatly.
I bought your beginner blues course a few years ago... I think it was bundled with something, a more advanced blues course maybe. Life got in the way at the time, but recently I thought I'd dig it out and start in on it. Problem is, it's nowhere to be found. I looked through all my DVDs, boxes, drawers... just gone.
Much as I like physical media, it would be great if all your courses were available digitally, so all I'd need is my login details, and if I lost those I could restore/reset them.
Thanks brother and take care.
Marty alone is teaching millions to be the next guitar players, it’s truly incredible. I have nothing but full respect for Marty ❤️
Hey mate
Your a bloody legend, I’ve recently fallen back in love with the guitar because my kids have started to learn. So after probably 20 years of not touching an instrument I’m absolutely loving your beginner videos.
I never really got anywhere with chords and rhythm in my teen years but your teaching style is amazing and in the last few weeks of watching you I have picked up more skills then I ever had before 👌
thanks for the awesome video as always
Hey Marty. Thanks . Great excercise
Hey Marty, thanks for the Pentatonic Exercise. Greatly Appreciated!!!
Thanks Marty, your pentatonic videos are really helping my playing
My pleasure!
Thank you 🙏 shredding in the beginning!
Great lesson as usual Marty and a big shout out for helping Carl Brown get his channel back up and running, awesome mate 😎✌️
i always love your tutorials/lessons :)
Man I've got to the point where I can follow along and a ten minute lesson really does take 10 minutes. Thanks!
How'd you do it bro?
Great to hear!

Thanks for the free courses, Marty! Bless you, brother!
Any time
Thanks for the licks. Also, thanks for helping Carl Brown out! You dudes ROCK!
Wow Amazing marty kepp rocking .👍
Whenever I lose motivation I look for one of Marty's videos. Someday maybe this one will be easy for me, but right now it's a worthy challenge that I'm going to use to replace some of my warmup that has gotten boring. And now, I'm ready to tackle a new song, which will also be a Marty tutorial!
I started learning in 87. I had "The Guitar Handbook" and, tabs from Guitar magazine and others. Also friends who were learning in school. Those plus a couple of accomplished players to correct my technique and show me a few things from time to time. I practiced sometimes 5 to 7 hours a day and, although I was dedicated to learning, I watched this thinking "Man, if I'd have had Marty in my life back then, I'd have made much faster progress and, I'd have developed a repertoire of songs sooo much faster "
Love you Marty because, although I can play I still learn from you all the time and, I admire you giving free lessons to the newcomers who have come to the right place if they want to realize they're potential more quickly than guys like me who didn't have the privilege and good fortune of having a great teacher to take help them progress so much faster without a personal guitar teacher.
You're one of the good guys. The world needs more like you who don't insist on theory first. Hearing yourself jamming for the first time means you'll pursue it because you're having fun right away!
Theory can come later, but having you to help in those crucial initial stages must be such an invaluable thing, I can't say enough about how much I've always dug what you do for the guitar community! My community back then was so limited it barely qualified as a community at all!
Keep up the great and encouraging work brother. You're such a giving person, it's admirable.
I appreciate you man, more than I can verbalize!✌️♥️🎸🎶🙏
Awesome Marty!
This really helped
Yay! Marty! Makes my day! 💕🙌🏻
Super cool an accessible lesson, Marty. Even more fun when you discover you can use it for C major pentatonic improvising as well.
Sick Marty!
The Great One! My Master Sinsei! The one and only You Tube Legend! Thanks for everything my brother! Keep on Rockin!
Great Post, good exercise that you can transfer into your own improv. Keep on trucking.
Thank you!!! This is Amazeballs!!! More jumó and penta please!!!
More to come!
Doing great marty 👍

Thanks and great job man
You bet
Thanks marty
No worries
When you feel it you feel it!!! 🔥🎸
Awesome 👏
Thank you! Cheers!
Best guitar channel in RUclips. Marty makes it simple even to a guitar-moron like me...
Hey marty what pedals/affects did you use to get that amazing tone when you bent the notes? Thank you so much man and I greatly appreciate you!
I just did that free course a cple weeks ago on your site! Super good exercises on there! I found the free katana patches on there too. My bad.lol. ive found Practicing scales with a backing track or looper has really helped me to be more musical. And understand things in context better. Like the natural minor scale over a minor progression sounds more melodic instead of just the minor pentatonic imo. Things like that.Gr8 vid as always!!
Wonderful!
Hi Marty, wazzup! Just came back on your channel, It's been a while. I got super busy with the job that I didnt like. anyways, I just came here to say thank you for all the lessons you gave for all these years. You are like my guitar father. I was just teenage boy back when I started watching your videos and that was 2011 and now I am a grown up dude in his mid-20s. You are a big part of my life to be honest and that'swhy I wanted to say thank you. You kinda ignited back my passion in music and I am thinking at the moment if I should follow my dreams instead of being an employee. I just want your opinion if it's ok with you. Should I try pursuing music career or should I stick with my day job?
Marty I love you
Solid
My man, I use pentatonic scales to warm up. I also warm up with Scuttle Buttin', just like the legend himself. Keep the content coming!
Another quality video!
Glad you think so!
I have to learn to use my pinkie more, especially for scales like these. Apart from SUS chords and such, I don't use my pinkie finger that much. 😎🎸🎸
Hi Marty I was wondering if you can make a video on All Along the Watchtower part 4 thank you
Marty, heard you helped Carl Brown out when he got hacked last week. Nice to know there's still some class and decency left in the world.
Great lesson too, by the way.
Wait I actually done it thanks Marty
Thank you so much this will help a lot!
Could you please do follow you to Virgie by Tyler Childers?
Marty! Love your tutorials. Would you be able to do a tutorial on Hot Flush by Drunk Mums?
Marty, whom is the luthier you utilize?
What chords are being played for the back track? I think I hear an Am, F, G and a Dm thrown in every so often.
I love your videos i was wondering if I could make a request be yourself by audioslave
Hi Marty, been following you for some time, in one way or another. On one of my old cell phones I used to have an android app featuring yourself. It helped to break things down to an easy simply way for brand new beginners. I have since lost that phone. I can't find that app on the android play store, although admittedly I can't remember what it was called. Is that app still available, and if so what is it called?
Hi Marty yea t would be really good if you could do some iron maiden weekend r megadeth songs great vid btw helped a lot

Hi, marty i really love your tutorials, I wanned to ask you if you could make a tutorial for the song "This town" by trixie mattel. I can't find any tabs. And it would mean the Wold to me. Next month we are having a little memorial for my friend. And trixie was his favourite artist, and I wanned to play the song at the memorial. I would be so thankful if you could help me :)♡

@@MartyMusic Maybe another time buddy.
Is bro pulling up.
Hello
Alright we are here.
We're not worthy! We're not worthy!!
Wow...think c major...same idea and feelwith all the chords of the scale
Think Dm...feel Am...think
Think G major...feel Am...
F major...6..9th..11...13
All of em work
Different unique sound
I actually just now tried it...
You know those plateau/Nirvana moments as a student of the craft....even going from the A (root) to the B(2nd?😁)sounds cool(forever a student...didnt even know the idea of the major scale until about 12 years ago(I called it the Mainstreet scale)...I learned the necessary theory after playing for 25 years by the Best and Thee Worst advice I ever got at 18 yrs old....JUST FEEEEL IT.....Yea....that only gets u so far......U gotta know them notes and at least the Major scale a d how it has a relative minor....when I did learn about the major scale...cause ALL I KNEW WAS THE PENTATONIC MINOR. For 25 years....and I learned TO FEEL THAT EFFER.....But I was still clueless on what made it all tick....The Major Scale is what makes it all tick
Newbies...here's thee best and worst advice you will ever get....Dont worry about the modes...just learn the major and relative minor SCALES ALL U NEED😁......so used to the A to C from pentatinic.Minor...A to B builds certain tension...learning the use of the sub domiant notes/chords?😁
Its lik e having more adjectives and nouns to work with in your phrasing
Jstsayin...😏
Trev
🇫🇷🙏🏻👍🏼🍒
You havent switch amp since you have that one
I managed to watch all the way through the video, but this gets too complicated and too fast, way too soon for somebody just starting out like me.🤔🤨🙄😐.
:)
You don't speak so much about picking the strings on your right hand. Do you have advices and tutorials about picking to play that pentatonic leads, please ?
