      It's all down to where the manufacturer wants to throw more resource at in the end right? I'd much rather have adaptive suspensions, carbon fibre and ceramic fibre over a more refined interior or infotainment system (when everyone's using Apple Car Play anyways).

    • @petek5488
      @petek5488 2 года назад +1

      Couldn't agree more. Nothing worse than a car snob who knows on all that counts that the other car is superior. The only thing they have to critique is the choice of interior plastics... When someone ever says that to me it's normally the first sign that they are a complete tool!

    • @karlos0955

      @@vladgradinariu30 On a weekend or track day car I'm in complete agreeance. On a daily driver, I'm not so sure. A solid infotainment for the functions you've got to do outisde of carplay and a nicely trimmed interior will probably matter more on your way to and from work than ceramic brakes and a track ready suspension would. More than that, this Afla seems impossible to recommend based on it's maintenance record. I looked into these while car shopping and it was horror story after horror story. I'll stick with the M3 knowing I'll have little to no issues with it.

      @sultanoftippoo3857 4 года назад +5

      Omiros 99 “Giulia QV is a newer car, it took AR years to even keep up with an aged M3”.
      I’m not sure what point you are tying to make. Are you saying that because a car designed later than an older one that it has an advantage some how? Take the M3. I’ve driven the “aged” F80 M3 that you talk about (only launched 2 years before the QV by the way) and in my opinion it isn’t as good a car as it’s predecessor the e92 M3 ( I owned an 2010 e92 and absolutely loved it but now have a QV and it is without doubt the best car I’ve ever driven).
      I guess my point is the M3 and QV are both great cars and I don’t get all this “ my brand is the best and your’s is trash”. Anyone who has owned these cars will tell you the same.

    • @sultanoftippoo3857
      @sultanoftippoo3857 4 года назад +3

      Omiros 99 Why are you trying to make your case from other people’s opinions (have you ever driven an M3 or a QV?). The F80 M3 you talk about was only launched 2 years before the QV (hardly aged). Who mentioned looks? I bought my QV for how it drives period although many people have come up to me to say how nice the car looks. And as far as Chris Harris is concerned then for someone who is a German car fanatic, he’s said some very complementary things about the QV.
      Finally if you want to compare the QV’s engine to anything in it’s class today then bring it on. Reliability wise then 2018/2019 owner survey reports like What Car put Alfa above all of their German competitors (maybe Alfa’s were unreliable 20 years ago but not anymore). With 5 years warranty, 3 years free servicing I’m very happy with my QV and in 18 months it has been totally reliable unlike the e39 M5, e92 M3 and most recently M2 that I’ve owned. None had major issues but all were in the garage unlike the Alfa that has had it’s regular service.
      Maybe one day you’ll get a chance to drive and own an M3 and I’m sure you will love it (BMW make great cars) but you make yourself look daft by regurgitating other people’s opinions.

    Benz has my respect and always will..but BMW I cant take seriously anymore till they actually come up with something fresh! Believe me is not hate...I love how they look but that's actually the thing, you got ,m2,m3,m4,m5,m6, x5m and x6m but they all look the same!
    Love what Alfa has achieved as much I love what Kia and Hyundai have done, of course the later are on a different class however watch out for Kia Stinger and Genesis G90.
    Forza Alfa😍🍀

    Chris Harris is good in his niche. Non stop chatter about the cars info, specs, etc, on RUclips videos.

    • @the80386

      things change. remember top gear started as a consumer advice show. it was always quite technical to help buyers. just watch some of the retro shows. clarkson changed it to a comedy show which has it's merit but there will always be room and necessity for a technical oriented show. and Chris doesn't even talk all that technical anyway. he is well balanced and touches a lot of emotional aspects of the car in question.

      +StereotypedFilms i strongly suggest you do some research into the history of Alfa Romeo, before making an idiotic statement about Alfa being a shit brand in the past... Just a few fun facts for ignorant buffoons like you, Alfa had a very very successful racing team as early as 1923. Was it not for Alfa, or more specific, Enzo Ferraris extraudinary admiration for Alfa, Ferrari never would have existed. The first cars used by the Scuderia Ferrari team was in fact Alfa Bimotores. During the evolution of the brand, nearly every new model released had at least one innovation unseen on other brands. During the 80's Alfa dominated not only group 1 racing in the GTV6, but also had great success with the same car in WRC. During the 90's, the Alfa 155 TI V6 annialated everything in the DTM races. Alfa not only produced one of the worlds longest produced and most successfull 4 cylinder engines, but also easily one of the worlds best V6 engines, and probably the worlds best sounding V6..

    I don't if TG has been paid off by BMW because honestly, most of what Chris is saying doesn't make much sense to me. I've owned and an M4 for a while and have swapped it with my friend's M3 occasionally and I thought the steering was just a bit too light. Also, the exhaust is not very prominent as you would have expected in a car such as that.
    Due to damaging my M4 and wanting an Alfa for ages, I have switched over to the Giulia QV and I have not been disappointed. The steering is just bang on. It's precise and as heavy as it should be in a sports car of this caliber. I would also like to mention that it feels better in corners, however that is my opinion. The engine sounds magical and on the Nürburgring it set the fastest lap for a sedan, which makes me wonder.
    I think the whole controversy with Elon Musk was because of something like this as well. Now, I don't know Chris very well but have been told that he is honest most of the time regarding his reviews and since he switched over to Top Gear, his credibility might actually be questionable. Not because of himself but because of the producers and whatnot. Plus, most people that I know who have driven both cars have told me that the QV is honestly better and if you look at several reviewers' thoughts on this, they seem to agree as well.
    Even if it isn't as good,which it is, as an M3 as Chris says, I think he misses the point. This car marks the revival of a long lost automotive legend and they all have heard them roar.

      The Giulia Quadrifoglio is an awesome car but it has had multiple issues since it was released. It's reliability has been terrible. It is a great looking car that sounds sooo much better that the current M3/M4.
      Regarding reliability, it seems everyone has unique experiences. My current car is a 16' Audi S3. My previous cars in order are:
      -14' VW Golf GTI
      -12' Audi S5 Cabriolet
      -10' BMW X6
      -08' BMW M3 Coupe
      The only issues I had were with the S5 Cab. I had a motor for the cabrio top fail which was replaced under warranty. I also had the hydraulic steering fail which was also under warranty. Both issues were fixed quickly. I have not had a single issue with any of the other cars. It is very possible I have been lucky. However, I would not want to own one of these cars after the warranty runs out. This is why I either lease my cars or get rid of them before the warranty expires.

    Loving that Chris Harris is back on youtube doing what he does best - reviewing cars.
    This isn't the TV show "Top Gear" moved online, this is a space for a more detailed look at cars (talk about dampers, discuss how much rubber is in the suspension setup, etc.)
    I don't *want* people to try and replace the old "top gear trio" - they had a unique dynamic that formed the show in a particular way.
    This new Top Gear needs to find its voice too, and with people like Chris Harris involved I'm excited to see how it evolves.

Knows each model, and characteristic, yes. Can drive like hell, yes. Can talk your ear off, yes. Is a true Car Reviewer, backed up by his fabulous writing. Yes. Has an almost miraculous ability to talk Car company's into lending him their best cars, and they include Tires. Sometimes a crew to make sure He's getting all he can possibly get out of their cars. He Isn't the second coming, but maybe 3rd, 4th? I hope they give him some other personalitys to work with.

    A very informative and insightful review, its a shame that the Jeremy Clarkson fangirls are still blindly disliking this!

      I love the way Jeremy over exaggerates everything in a car review, and throws in a couple facts to keep the segment relevant. (Clarkson fans, myself included, miss that from Top Gear)
      Chris keeps it strictly factual while showing you what the car can do (at least from the reviews I've seen)

      Donald R. Edman I agree I do miss the satire and banter between the old three, it was one of a kind

    • @eronan03
      @eronan03 7 лет назад +4

      Well, some people are disliking it because some don't like Chris Harris.
      While I prefer Clarkson, I like Harris. I just assume that his demeanor is a bit of a dog whistle; some people just can't hear it.

      They need to change the name, the show isn't top gear anymore. it never will be the same. Top Gear isn't your typical car review show. it had personality, humor and it was more alive. this show is just bare bones and dry rub. nothing to give it flare at all. R.I.P Top Gear

    • @eronan03
      @eronan03 7 лет назад

      It was never strictly "Clarkson, Hammond, and May" as the identity of Top Gear. Top Gear is greater than them.
      It's like saying, "I'm no longer a Yankees fan, because Jeter and Rivera no longer play for them; they'll never be the same".

    i know everyone is talking about how people are disliking this vid for no reason but can we acknowledge that this is a 2017 alfa romeo with a 505hp v6 twin turbo that has manual transmission seriously that is probably the most badass thing about this car

    Alfa is never rubish. All cars break down (except maybe my Saab).. But i would buy almost any Alfa just because of their design. They are unique. When Saab sadly got bankrupt because of GM and the Swedish goverment.. Well, then theres only Alfa Romeo left on this planet that actually seem to have a car designer who design their cars. Evry other car maker looks EXACTLY the same. Boring, boring and boring.
    Ofc you can name some supercars with cool design and uniqueness. But im talking about cars that evry day people can buy here, in other words. Not supercars. And to me its only Alfa who still make regular cars that also looks good.

      @juanequis6951 6 лет назад

      Amen; like Jeremy C. said with his brilliant,spot on wit, BMW's etc.look like a businessman's briefcase, meaning they all look alike! Alfa's give and have that inner feeling other hot shot brands do not. Alfa's mainly were for those not needing a S 600 Benze etc, but for those who truly loved to drive. Had my 1st Alfa in 72, a 63 spider. Next 1989 a wonderful 1983 GTV-6 ( 7,000 original miles.). 1 never any issues after some Shankle mods when it was sold it had 155,000 and running fine.Then a 94 spider. My Only problem was finding a true Alfa mechanic (USA)!
      Like Jeremy always said,you have to own an Alfa if a true petrol head.On a talk show he said the car he regretted selling over all he has owned, was his GTV-6!

    This must be the mildest Chris Harris' review I have ever seen. On an AR Giulia QV. Seriously?

  • @fredflintstone6637
    @fredflintstone6637 3 года назад

    Bought a 2018 Giulia TI sport in Competizione red a few months ago.. absolutely in love with the Giulia’s.. kept telling myself I didn’t need a QF - but I do. I need it. I want the power. But if anyone is on the fence between Alfa and it’s competitors, go take a test drive. I’ve never owned anything sportier than a q60 IPL and 08 mustang before this car.. but the Giulia’s handle amazingly. Such a fun car to drive, every day I love it more. And style is subjective but IMO they are gorgeous cars when packaged together the right way. A work of art compared to other manufacturers.. something I think only Italians can pull off 🇮🇹
