In this video, I go over a track where the main elements come from Loops downloaded from Splice that I was able to get signed with my fellow subscriber and friend HOTINGA. The track we are looking at revolves around a flute loop sourced from splice, and a vocal. I show you the thought process of how to spread it out through a 5-6 minute track. Using Stutters, and proper arrangement we can push it forward so it's not boring and instead pleasing.

Good because using loops is a disgrace to the art form, regardless of how many untalented kids who never learnt anything want to defend it.
@@travistanner8344 respect your opinion Tanner we in new times and I agree with you with some tracks but there’s some sampling where it’s like WHOAAA
Cool I will look into it a bit more
Great edm artist ruclips.net/video/Dldu1tEa-AE/видео.html
I feel using loops is totally fair because one thing I have learned from making music is you can have the best loops in the world & still make a boring stale bland song. I believe it takes skill & talent to know how to make loops impactful & how to arrange them in a way that will keep the listeners attention all while creating an emotional impact on the listener
Agreed John John I agree I used to think differently but trying to make stuff off some loops literally hard if you aren’t on top of your game
@@ZenWorld So true. Making loops fit together with mixing is the magic
I see using loops like cooking, you don't need to grow the vegetables and make other ingredients to cook them.
Simply buy them and make a good food at the end and that what matters.
Totally agree. Loops are good starting point and if you really care, then after working with loops you naturally start to search for something unique, redone loops in with your own drum kits etc. or resample existing loops like any other samples or audio. Like you said at the end there are so many other ingredients like arrangements, mix, other elements which need to work together as a one body.
Love this!! When I first started out I used to read comments from other producers saying how you should always create stuff from scratch because it's more satisfying and that's how "real" producers make music. I never got anywhere and got stuck in 8 bar loop land. Finally one day after being frustrated because of all the time I put in with nothing to show for it I just decided to just finish songs not caring how I got there and everything changed. Using loops to make and finish songs actually made me a better producer and then I learned how to make better songs from scratch by using loops. It's also not easy to finish songs using loops anyway as many people will agree. I now have a manager and make music for a living. Thanks for making this video showing that it's not about the process or how you got there, all that matters is the finished product!!
In the end, all I care about is if good music is being put out to the world for me and others to enjoy. I love it whenever I've been jamming to a track and then find the original track that it was sampled from. Blows my mind because who knows what the original sample actually is? Just the joys of going deeper into the rabbit hole of music.
nah bro , what you did was 100% correct . the song is a banger my man !
Thanks Drawback means alot
This is a real breath of fresh air. Thanks for keeping it real Zen!
its not cheating at all. there is a lot of skill in creativity in putting everything together and making sure it has a clean mix and arrangement without getting boring...sick track zen
Amazing Zen! I think the main point from a great producer always will be how you use the things you have sound unique and with your identity. Well done!!!
You started this video saying exactly what I am going thru. I have the techmnical knowledge, thats not the problem. It comes to starting an idea worth saving. We learn all these “rules” and these damn playlists shifted they way we make music that sometimes it puts us in a box. Thank you again
Great video, looks like the plant needs some love too.
This is what I was looking for! Thanks Zen this is a banger video and a banger song too!
Love that your still doing videos man. Haven’t watched you in a few years but keep killing it Z!!!
Appreciate that man. I ran out of content ideas so I'm releasing music under this Name now for content 😂 I APPRECIATE you clicking on the video hope you get some value out of it much love.
@@ZenWorld Don’t produce much these days, but watching your videos brought back some nostalgia that I didn’t know I needed. Made me want to hop back into Ableton and work on some tunes! Be safe out there G 👊🏽👊🏽
you're a very talented man, thanks for sharing brother🔥
Absolute fire 🔥
This was dope! I used this vocal in a reggaeton track I did a few years ago and it sounds so dope in this arrangement :)
Daaammmmm didn’t you see my rant on Instagram??? Haha jk that’s fair bro put the name next time so I can hear it :)
that kick is spectacular
This is an awesome insight into a banging track. Thanks bro 👍🔥🔥🔥
Thanks JazzyJOk1 I really sincerely hope it helps. Music should be about having fun! Make it!
I've just checked your videos out again for the first time in years, I love the new style of videos bro. The new room is also a breath of fresh air than the previous cave hahah. Keep it up man
Dude love the song! I am a very loop-based producer as well and I don’t feel like a lesser producer because of it. Although I find it super impressive when people can come up with complex soundscapes from zero. I always need inspiration to get me started and I get it from samples and loops.
Dude! This is so good.
Nothing less than VERY nice. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing bro 🙌
The best Zen 🎉😊
Killer tune, Zen! And an inspirational video. Happy Thanksgiving, amigo!
Thank you for sharing this tutorial
Excellent work! I can hear mark knights voice saying “yes, yes, yes our next hot track of the week is Zens World- Voy” keep up the hard work! 🤙🏽
Thanks man it means a lot 🫂
Fire 🔥
Slapped my speakers about in a highly inappropriate manner. 😍🔥
thanks this is inspiring🔥My opinion is that you should apply all resources that you have available. Most of the people have (like I do) tons of sample packs. It does not mean (because of that) that I'm a bigger or better producer, it means only that I may have more (sound) options. In the end what is important is to find a combination (of the samples) that work. And even that is not easy otherwise we would be all high level producers. So you still have to put in the work .😉
commenting again to let you know how useful this video is. thanks !
great track
Diggin all the plants dude. Gotta bring nature up in the studio!
Nice 👍🏻 bro🙏
This track slaps😮
Thanks nick I can see that by your profile picture 🫂
Cool ❤ track, Zen! I’m gonna check it out via the link.
Thanks dude anything helps 🫂
@@ZenWorld Thank you for providing useful tutorials for many years, Zen! So this is the least I can do:)
That track slaps homie
Thanks my man 🫂
Some of the most popular releases in electronic music history came from a loop, the main riff from Knas by Steve Angello was a loop from a sample pack, the key like Zen said is to keep it interesting
🔥
looking younger homie !!!!!
pretty dope
Thanks Li digging into my Mexican Roots to pump this one out 🔊
ive not watched in a while.. is that a new studio? love your videos mate keep them coming! im from uk and would love to see more bassline, speedgarage, 4x4 genre productions.. like tom zanetti 'you want me' or tom zanetti 'darlin'
Zen world 🔥🔥🔥
Loops are made by other musicians, so technically it’s just a different way to collab with a musician!
Totally fair - If it was 'soooo easy', then those people hating would have made the track and got it picked up by a record label, themselves
Yes it is fair to use loops if the outcome is good. If they throw bunch of already good sounding processed loops and still a bad track comes out of it than i dont really respect that.
for me i think it dosent matter at all how the song is made as long as the public enjoying it!
Orale Ese !!!!!!,✌🏾
You felt like you were not as creative as other artists? 🤣if you felt like this than good luck to rest of us , you recfucking killing it each time and i just love your entire content🙌🙌songs tutorials preset packs every content from you is high quality
the sausage fattener shirt is fire! LOL
Fair: Loops we're made to use and manipulate into your own. If you can listen to the record and can't even say oh that's "that loop" then you did it right.
Love the philosophy -- awesome track! What were those titles that inspired you at the beginning? couldn't quite tell what you said
You forgot the most important plug-in! The shaver plug-in!
👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
BEST TITLE EVER GONNA TRIGGER SOME PEEPS 😫😫
The loops don't built the track, the artist does.
got that old Basement Jaxx feel
Love the vocal! Where can i Find this sort vocals?
Cool track! Are u using any kind of bass for the groove?
Hey, loved the track, is there a tutorial for drums like this? Super clear and impactful
Does anyone have a link to that masterclass he was referencing? Then one with the guy only using loops
San Pacho - Voy, got the same vocal sample :D
I made an Instagram Reel about this and caused up a storm on Instagram check t
I believe loop using is fair, if loop done work, change it & make it by yourself
Firstt 🥰🙏🏻
Thanks PHAN Hope you enjoy the track
Where did you get this cool Sausage Fattener T-shirt?
How did you do the baseline?? Reminds me of hollens's remix of "togather" way back in 2012. Always loved that style of baseline but never knew how to do it.
MIDI at 126BPM 1.1 -1.1.3 D# 1.1.3-1.1.4D# 1.1.4 -1.2.2 G# swung 1.2.2-1.2.3 D# 1.2.3-1.2.4 A#
Half a bar long
Synth is Serum running Saw Square combination heavily filtered only being allowed to open up to 171HZ and that should get you close if you can create a bass patch. If not apologize the MIDI is good 👍
Give me your email I’ll send ya the patch and MIDI
@@ZenWorld I think youtube keep removing my emails (probably for good reason). But I think I can peace everything together from the above description. Thank you legend!
Fred again lead tutorial?
Where can I find that kind of Spanish vocals? Royalty free of course
Chris Martin approves this message.
TY Chris
The hardest part about using melody loops is when they arent labeled what key or scale they are in. Then trying to combine different loops from different packs that arent labeled. A lot of pitch shifting and transposing invovled so you gotta know your music theory. If you make all the elements yourself and write them all in the same key it becomes a lot easier.
I usually just pitch the sample until I feel that is sits right with the rest
Using loops is not cheating. Making music is a collaborative process, so why wouldn’t any producer use loops? It takes a lot of effort and hard work to grab some loops, put them together and to let it shine! ❤
so voy just popped up in my release radar lol lisning to it rn . i was wondering how do i make my beats sound FAT idr how to mix and master it optimize for spotify but i notice my mixes always sound like a little WEAK BABY BOY when i play them in the whip or on spotify .
MId Lows are key for power and that’s fucking sick man :) thanks for listening
@@ZenWorld im interested to see more vids in the future how u like to use loops in ur workflow .

Well you pay for playlist placement now so maybe? Haha nah I Didn’t I PROMISE
@@ZenWorld its all good 👍I think even this shows how people can get their stuff out there. I will call this an educational video 💯
SAMPLING IS STYLE AN ARTFORM
he wearing sausage fattener shirt haha
I’m an organiser not an idea generator so for me my producing journey is going down the route of using loops only. I don’t get any fun out of trying to learn sound design and melody creation. I enjoy learning the tools and arranging. As you have discovered, it’s not so simple to use loops. At the end of the day the only thing that matters is having a song people want to listen to. Who cares how it was made?
Using loop is cheating - thats total bullsh… , first you can create tour own loops and use them in many different projects, second if you are good in melodies, then why not to use drum loops , cut them or use them fully and fit then into your track. At the end people its the creation process and people who listen the track and they dont care about it of you use loops or build all the track from scratch. I think its always up to the artist, only the final effect matters.
If you’re using a computer it’s cheating… 🤣🤣🤣
VOY
Samples are instruments just like any other instrument.. Samples are literally the historic bases for Hip Hop which has influenced %85 of the cultural music in the world since 1968. Everyone being able to buy the same paint doesn't mean they are going to use it at a Picasso level.. You still have to pull the essences of the artistry to make a unique masterpiece.. The only stealing is when you fraudulently try to pass someone else unique masterpiece off as your own.. Its only yours if you created it or purchased/own it..
"Using only loops"
Hmmmmm......
SERGIO PAPA PAPI Ven PA QUA Que Tiene QUE DECIR AIIII PAPI (ORIGINAL MIX) - JØRD
@@ZenWorld I'm literally shaking and crying rn
@@Sergio-nb4hj it’s actually a song haha
every producer does that pretty much, not very much of an accomplishment.. that's why everybody sounds the same.
Sure your perspective is still valuable to me.
@@ZenWorld hhahaa i like your sacarcasm.
