What a CRAZY detail that was! Can't believe how good the Eos turned out, but boy was it a struggle to get there. The owner's daughter is going to be thrilled with her new car! Have a great weekend everyone and stay tuned - NEW Yard Geek video coming next Friday!
91% rubbing alcohol will remove the adhesive on the paint. Red dye remover is what is required to remove red dye from carpet and upholstery. Look it up it’s good stuff.
I wish you had a shop in South Carolina. I used to enjoy detailing my own cars. But now that I'm not physically able, finding a great detailing service locally is near impossible. 😮
I would have loved to see the reaction from the owner of this car, as I am sure their jaw dropped to the floor. I know how a lot of folks don't want to be on RUclips, and that's their decision, but with the before & after shots of your work, the transformation is incredible.
Goo Gone is absolutely available in the US and that was going to be my recommendation for getting that sticky stuff off too. Glad you were able to get it off. Great job as usual!
It’s not often that you have to vacuum the outside of a car before you do the inside! That protective film looked like a real pain, truly a test of your patience. I think this car had the most prep work of any vehicle you’ve done. But like always, you did an outstanding job! The change was phenomenal, thanks for sharing your magic.❤
I have been watching you for years and was finally able to get my teenager to watch and he is now enthralled. As kids don’t like to listen to their parents you have helped me show him what hard work, attention to detail and never cutting corners can achieve. Thank you for being an amazing role model. What a transformation, brilliant as always!
Dude, that car was a PILE!! But it's just unreal how good you got it looking. It's stunning. How people let their cars get like that is absolutely incredible to me. When it comes to detailing, you're the man, Mitch!! Phenomenal job yet again, bro!!
I have an 08 VW Eos my dad picked out for me as my second car because of its look and safety features. It's been pretty reliable and is also really fun to drive around. Needless to say, it's my baby.
The windows being partially open is one of two things; either the windows switch is out of sinc with the motors and needs to be reset. Depending on the manufacturer, the process is simple and involves having a good battery, lowering the window and once down, hold the window switch in the down position for 8 to 10 seconds. Then release the switch from the down position and then raise the window and hold the switch in the up position. Once all the way up continue to hold the window switch in the up position also for 8 to 10 seconds then release the switch. If the doors are close, the windows should remain all the way up. If this doesn't remedy the windows problem then chances are there's a safety switch with the folding roof that has gone bad. When released from the up & locked position, all of the power windows should lower approximately one inch to allow room for all of the systems involved in folding and stowing the hardtop roof in the trunk.
Exactly. Amazingly, very few people know about the simple window reset. In most cases, it is due to a rough battery replacement. In Europe, some brands charge up to 300 euros if you take your car in for service for such a trivial issue. If it's related to the electrical wiring, a car like that isn't worth the repair.
On these modern coupés and convertibles with power windows and "missing" upper frame you can also watch that they automatically open just a little bit when you open the door (I'm sure that the roof has kind of a double-lip seal and when you close the door it raises the window again to push it against the seal.
I've learnt that procedure with the first, of the three French Cars that I've owned :D. My problem was the door wiring, that broke and caused my automatic window de-calibration. Then I've learnt that it's applicable in most euro cars :)
I owned the same car in Black color and Black leather seats. I love it very much and clean it every week .Thank you for saving this beauty ❤.From Germany🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪
I vaguely remember that model name. The water pour was truly the worst. There have been some that dark, but not that much that dark. Pulling the film off had me anxious about accidentally pulling off some paint. The interior was like a different car by the end. A great way to start a Friday and end a week! Thanks, Mitch.❤
Thumbs up for goo gone. It isn't available anywhere outside North America. I brought a bottle from the states over 10 years ago and its a life saver for really dire situations.
Hey Mitch, you may have heard this before, but one of the best ways to easily remove PPF is a kettle of hot water. You can pour it directly on the film or use a microfiber towel soaked in it. Let it sit for a minute or two and then pull. Nice work on the detail as always. Keep up the good work.
YES… Goo Gone is definitely in the US all over, it works amazing wonders for all kinds of stain removal, getting off glue, paint, crayon, you name it! I highly recommend it also, Mitch.
I had an EOS for a few years until 2016 and that was one fun convertible to drive. Wasn't as much fun to take in for oil changes, because after 100k miles, the issues started piling up. Glad to see one come into the show. Also, not sure it was really meant to be driven in Minnesota during the winter, so I'm not sure how it makes it through a Canadian winter any better.
That was an amazing transformation! It's awesome to hear about people wanting to fix up cars to get them back on the road again. Thank you for giving this car another chance!

Sadly, folding tin-tops have a reputation for problems no matter who makes them. The Eos is not very common in the UK, and used car dealers shy away from them generally. Scrubbed up OK. Make it run and repair the seat and leave the roof closed!
@@foxstrangler I have no complaints, mine runs amazing and is very comfortable and soft to drive. My only complaint about the car is the roof and that’s it. It having hard top roof makes it different for me from any cabriolet

So sad to see an EOS in this shape I almost bought one way back They looked great rolling down the road with the top down This one is my favorite color
I just washed my 07 Monte Carlo with your ACP for the first time. I had some engine problems and so it sat for about a year. The car looks brand new now and your ACP is excellent! I highly recommend it to anyone. I made a few spray bottle of it to keep in the house and out in the garage. 5 stars! Plus 1 😃
Mitch, in interior disasters like this and others you've done, aren't you worry about being pricked, poked by a needle or knife. Shoot I would use some sort of shovel, LOL. Great job as always bro. God bless.
So glad that the vehicle got saved, always nice when I sitting vehicle gets back on the road where it belongs. My mom always wanted a white one with tan interior.
This was a fantastic detail. I couldn’t believe the coating/protective wrap on this vehicle. I never dreamed it could come off let alone not leave any damage! Well done!! I had an 08 Sebring hardtop convertible in the silver steel color that reminds me so much of this EOS. God it was a lot of fun to drive and gave me zero problems for the 7 years I had it. Any girl would love this car 🚙 ❤
I'm shocked at how well this light-coloured carpet was hiding that crazy dark stain! They really did make them differently back then eh. Also, I had a feeling your secret weapon was gonna be goo gone lol.
Sometimes just using a hairdryer on high setting is enough heat to make it a lot easier. If you bust out an electric heat gun, just be mindful of the distance between the tip of the heat gun and the surface that you're working with.
I can confirm Mitch precautions. If the paintcoat have chips or deep scratches it's a very risky to use pressure waterpump nozzle so close to coating surfaces. I have seen to myself how a bits of paintcoat go away staying only primer after it or even bare metal. And don't even think to clean this way a vehicle if you being known that the surface were repaired with putty. In this case risk to see your vehicle body naked increase in several times.
Mitch, I absolutely appreciate the work you do and the way you do it. But it seems for the sake of clicks and views you turned from detailing daily used cars to cleaning rubbish abandoned non-driving shitboxes. Please show us more "normal" detailing again instead of all these barn finds.
The #1 reason these didn’t sell was the complexity of the roof system. It folds down into the trunk and is operated by several pressurized cylinders. They are a beast to diagnose and repair. Also, the roof seals leak horribly, which is why you sucked so much filth out of the carpets. My 09 leaked horribly so I know all about this. To top it off, there are only a few VW certified roof specialists in N America.

The DEFINITION of "cleaned up good"! On a miserably hot, humid day, nothing better than a Detail Geek disaster detail--you know that the filthiest cars always make for your best videos. This one did not disappoint. You transformed this neglected, nearly destroyed car into something the owner's daughter is going to love. Even the paint was restored! And it's awesome when a man can do the work what he wants and do it with pleasure. All the best, Mitch, thanks for satisfying transformation.
Awesome work Mitch 😎 I always use a specialty product like Goo Gone, Goof Off, or Rapid Remover to remove this type of PPF residue. Hitting it with 90% isopropyl alcohol first helps too
PPF/Vinyl removal: start with a plastic scraper and a heat gun. Avoid all the curled, gunky bits and focus on slowly heating the good bits so you can get a solid "pull". If it is melting, turn down the heat. Next, saturate with adhesive remover and let dwell for 5 minutes. You can use mineral turpentine. However, in this case it just won't be powerful enough. Use the plastic scraper to push the gunk off. Repeat until it is mostly gone. Then get your polisher out with a pad you don't care about and go over it. Any leftover bits of PPF glue still stuck will go a muddy colour. Reapply adhesive remover and wipe away. Now you can do your pre-polish steps properly. The most stuck on sign-writing I ever did was on a black vehicle that baked in the sun for 8 years. I spent 15 hours total.
We have Goo Gone down here too. It was actually the first thing I thought of when I seen all the adhesive stuck on the car, glad it worked so well. I had never even heard of this car, you made it look great!
You amaze me at how you can transform these filthy cars! Haven't been able to watch for awhile, so I'll have to do some binging! 😊 Have a great week! 😁
Hey DG, yes, Goo Gone is also available in the USA, my dads actually used it before to clean our dryers drum before when someone forgot they had gum in there pocket, made quite the mess, but that Goo Gone took it right off after about 15 minutes of soaking
It's safe to say I'll never be a fan of modern VW cars... 😬 That being said, if this ride can be saved & be driven for a a few more years, the price paid + the detailing job done were worth it. Thanks for the upload. Have a nice day everyone!

Hi can you please share the soundtrack that you used in this video it is so Lovely!
Awesome, awesome, awesome!!! You never let me down. That VW is ready to go. Great job. Love from Charlotte N.C.
One of your best transformation, thumbs up from France!
Thank you!
You amaze me at how you can transform these filthy cars! Haven't been able to watch for awhile, so I'll have to do some binging! 😊
Have a great week! 😁
Hey DG, yes, Goo Gone is also available in the USA, my dads actually used it before to clean our dryers drum before when someone forgot they had gum in there pocket, made quite the mess, but that Goo Gone took it right off after about 15 minutes of soaking
Mitch - I just purchased the detail geek bug remover and shipped to Melbourne, FL. Works very well! Thanks for a great product.
Awesome, glad to hear it!
It's safe to say I'll never be a fan of modern VW cars... 😬 That being said, if this ride can be saved & be driven for a a few more years, the price paid + the detailing job done were worth it.
Thanks for the upload. Have a nice day everyone!
