I love Su's cadence in METALIZM and the beat is great. The 2 guitar solo type shredding parts are going to be amazing live. VERY curious what the choreography for it will be like. Solid album yet again from BABYMETAL. Everyone will have their own favorites. I don't know what one is mine. I assume it will change over and over just like all the other albums. 🤘🦊🤘

It took me a couple of days to get to your reaction, but I have to say that it was worth the wait. This is a fantastic album, but your closing comments are true; there are sections/songs/vocals/breakdowns etc, that some won't gel with. This is perfectly fine. I am pretty sure this album was written with that in mind. I don't mean that they are trying to be something to all people, rather that Babymetal are saying we are well-rounded performers, and this is where we are right now (I am betting that the next album is half written as I type this, given that Monochrome had been being played with by their writers for four or five years before being placed on this album). Emp, I appreciate that you took the time to record this ... I am really thankful that you did. It was awesome. Keep the good stuff coming
In one of the interesting print interviews the girls have been doing Su described the writing process for the songs. She said that the music is recorded first,then she sings a melody to it and the lyrics are written to fit the melody

I actually stepped away from music for a while during our hiatus.""But I came back because I still genuinely felt that I love BABYMETAL and that I love music." "I feel like I’m in a new band right now, and my current mode is, “I want to purely enjoy the music." I think Su-Metal speaks for a lot of bands and how they felt over the last 2 years. Not being able to perform & wondering if they coukd regain what was lost. We came close to losing Su-,Metal as she revealed in a recent exclussive Billboard interview. So to see this kind of effort as a result is nothing short of brilliant! I mean Metal Galaxy was good but this is a Su-Metal coming into her own here! Just wish Monochrome The First Take (Panio version was a bonus track but a small complaint here to an otherwise grand Opus!!
I am sure the fans, including myself, were worried about a lot of things before the announcement, but in the end we got the tremendous new album, ha. METALIZM, it's my favourite so far. In my opinion, both the lyrics and the music are arranged in some Arabic-inspired way, in particular, the lyrics would be from 'Arabian Nights'. However, it might be somewhat stereotypically images for our Japanese in this song. Perhaps that might be offensive to the Arabian people, but I would like to genuinely enjoy myself. The Japanese have a certain longing for Arabia, a kind of exoticism from the old days. And this song, first, the way Su- sings it, it's like some old Japanese Enka songs, or old popular songs, and that's the first thing that makes me laugh. And then the chorus '(METALIZM) zum zum zum' kills me, haha. I think this is a kind of a play on words that it repeats the ending 'zumu' of 'metarizumu' which is the Japanese equivalent of the English word 'metalism'. (However, English has the word, 'metalism'?) To put it bluntly, I think this is where BM's cute metal, or fun metal genes remain. And one more thing, at 45:10, 46:46, the guitar phrasings in this section reminds me of Mikio Fujioka's classic solo phrasings. Deep and wonderful in many ways. My favorites are MAYA and Monochrome but the rest are also great. My all time favorites are still Megitsune and Headbanger but it doesn't really matter because I listen to all of them on shuffle anyway🤘🦊🤘 I heard them Live for the first time last week and I still can't believe that they sound just as good if not better live.

I love this album more than Metal Galaxy. Of all 50+ BABYMETAL songs, the small handful of BABYMETAL songs that I SOMETIMES hit "skip" on my player are on the Metal Galaxy album. So I was worried that this album might be the same, but thankfully EVERY song is a banger to me! 🤘🦊🤘
To me, this is the best album. Maybe not the best songs but as an album this one definitely has the best composition IMO and flows easily from song to song.

If you liked Believing, then I will repeat my recommendation of two songs by Yuyoyuppe, a.k.a. YUPPEMETAL who composed the song. My two favorites from his latest EP are "Makka ft. Natsuki Karin" and "SICK ft. Natsuki Karin".
For the first hear of Time Wave, I was not that interested. But the song kept on repeating and playing in my mind, until I came back and played it. And now, I am not sure if it's my fave, but it's one of my top 5 songs😁

I literally have no one in my family or people around me that enjoys BABYMETAL as I do and I have a little social anxiety, so I watch reactions like this often because of like what you said "is like having a friend, in the room". I have had anxiety all my life and it pretty much held me back, however once I figured out what it was I have been able to pretty much control it so I count myself lucky.

Interview with Billboard Japan…. SU-METAL: First of all, THE OTHER ONE isn’t the main story of BABYMETAL. It was made during the time we took a break from doing concerts after our ten-year METAL RESISTANCE saga, so the album is about “an alternate BABYMETAL.” At the same time, we’re sometimes called “Kawaii Metal” but don’t think that’s the only thing we’re about. We want to make new music, so we don’t want to be tied down by that image. We want to show another side like this and hope people will enjoy this, too. On top of that, BABYMETAL’s new main story will begin again, so please look forward to that as well.
I really enjoyed watching this with you, I had already heard it several times before of course, but yours is the first full reaction I have watched. This is an amazing album and just imagine seeing them perform this on a small stage with the Kamis in plain view with all the screens and lighting it would be insane. My favourite track is Believing just because I think it is such a well written song, I honestly can't think of how it could be better if it were arranged a little different or if they had included something or if it had only been a little longer/ shorter. Of course it also kicks ass all the way through. But I think there will be no agreement of the best song as everyone has something in there for them. It is amazing they did not repeat a single style through the whole album, even vocally every song was different. Special mention goes to Hideki who is going to actually have to play this live, I hope he has not been eating too many treats during the break.
the studio versions of the songs are only half of the babymetal experience, the other half is the performance from our queens and the live music from the kami band, regardless of whether the eastern or western btw. cute kitty🐱

You mention taking in some early BABYMETAL before doing a full album reaction. I think you should have done a full album reaction with at least their first album first before doing this reaction video. Then you would have had a real appreciation for the severe contrast that exists between BABYMETAL then and BABYMETAL now. In fact, including this reaction, you've reacted to more BABYMETAL from their last album than ALL of the other three!!! By my count, you're 4 of 13 for the first album ("BABYMETAL"), 2 of 13 for the second album ("Metal Resistance"), and one (JUST ONE!) of 16 for the third album ("Metal Galaxy"). You think you know BABYMETAL - you don't. But I have confidence that you'll rectify that discrepancy. And I'm going to call you out on "there's no such thing as a perfect album": The Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon; Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV; The Beatles - Abbey Road (among others!); Queen - A Night at the Opera; to name just a few. And if you ever get around to reacting to BABYMETAL's debut album, you'll find that it is MUCH MUCH better than this album. I'll even go out on a limb and say that you over-rated this album (having no context), and that ALL three of BABYMETAL's previous albums are better than this one but you wouldn't KNOW that, would you? But, as you so eloquently pointed out, "perfect" is a matter of taste. It's a pity that you had such a hard-on to do this without getting a real idea of what BABYMETAL WAS about but clearly isn't about now - they used to make heavy metal FUN. This album ("The Other One") has three tracks that are, in my opinion, metal (and not what I would consider "kawaii metal"); the rest is nothing better than high-flying J-pop with Suzuka Nakamoto doing operatic vocalizations. But now that you got this out of your system, now you can get back to reacting to the REAL BABYMETAL, the kawaii BABYMETAL.
