Hey, I loved this idea but pushed a little further. Instead, I kept my track select in toggle mode instead of advance, but I don't use the push for effects. I came from playing an RC 50 so I've only ever had 3 tracks and I hardly used the third one. I have a hard time thinking I will ever need 6 with the way I work. So, I sacrificed loop phrases 4, 5, and 6 and instead made Mode 2 my input effects. Buttons 1, 2, 3, and 4 are my effects on Bank A. Then button 5 is my bank select so I can get to all 4 input effects banks. Then, I switched button 6 to color toggle and used and assign to make button 6 my mode 3 button. Then, Mode 3 is my track effects and I made button 6 on mode three my mode 2 button. So, my Track Select button toggles from my 3 phrase looper to my input effects and then my button 6 works like a toggle between input effects and track effects where I have access to all the banks on each effects page with button 5. So, I guess this pedal for me is really a big effects processor with a 3 phrase looper built in instead of a big looper with some effects.
nice video! the bounce function on track 6 towards the end of the video....are you using that to bounce tracks 1-5 to track 6? so that then u have tracks 1-5 which u can erase and record new music to? and can this all be done on the fly? thanks!
Yes, Yes and YES! The bounce feature is a super-slept on huge huge thing for the RC 600. A little wonky to control with your feet, but with the right workflow and button pressing, you can easily bounce 1-5 into 6, clear the others individually. That's how I usually start my rhythm loops out, keeping multiple tracks, bouncing together, and clearing.
What a cool set up! I love how you have made so many features super accessible. I’d love to see a video how you’ve set up your AB external pedal. I just got one and I’m a little confused with how to get it to do what I want. Love the bigger color buttons you added to the switches!
Great video Rob!! Thanks for posting it. I have asked these questions on another video from John Paul. I figured I would ask you as well. Question about effects since this subject hasn’t been covered to much and is not explained very well in the manual. In reading and watching videos about the way effects are used, I seem to hear about only 4 input effects and 4 output effects can only be used at any time. There are 4 banks and each bank holds 4 effects which gives you a total of 16 effects. So could you use all 16 effect slots in one memory? Can i use a Delay from Bank A on track 1 and then use that same delay from bank A on track 2 with different settings or does track 1 take the delay and you cannot reuse it on any other tracks while it occupied by track 1? Can I use an effect from Bank A and Bank C on the same track? These could be any banks, I’m just using A and C for an example here. Can I use all 16 on one track or two tracks together? Would they be independent of each other with same effect but different tracks? I hope this makes sense. Thanks for all your help.
Great question and a video topic in itself, really. The short explanation is you can use any / all of the 4 effects in the currently selected bank. Only one bank at a time. Each bank is unique and each slot can hold almost any of the effects. You do have access to 16 at a time this way, but can only use 4 at a time. They can be repeated on other banks and even repeated on the same bank. I use delay for my c and d effects in one bank and they’re set to 400ms and 200ms, giving me a secondary delay effect slapback. You can keep similar delays ready for use in the other banks, too. You can use one bank then the next on a single track, but only one bank at a time.
@@bigskybob Thanks for the info Rob!! That helps me out a lot. Can you have a bank assigned to a specific track? Then switch over to another track and have a different bank assigned to that track and when you switch between the tracks the banks will switch respectively to whatever track you’re on? Sort of setting up a bank for vocals, one for guitars, one for percussion, etc.
@@Sammyw1013 I suggest using the assign switches to do that. You could have the assign switch act so that when you press track 1 mode 1 to start recording..pressing that button ALSO switches to bank A of effects, track 2 for bank b and so on. Thanks for the comment! Getting the bank advance button is a little more difficult and I'll create a video done. You need to set the Ctrl button to "LED" and create an assign switch looking for pedal6 mode3. Fx bank increase (track or input) can be assigned to that button.

Hi from Australia. Thanks for the great video mate. Where did you buy the pedal cover thingys? I don’t even know what they’re called but would like to buy some for mine. Kindly Yours. 👍🏽😃
I got a set off of Amazon but they’re not great. The fit is just a little too tall, so sometimes a pedal can feel like it won’t click. Still looking for a good set for the 600 if you can find one.
@@bigskybob I have the same exact problem. Bought a set on Amazon and after about an hour, took them right off. Kinda wish Boss made the stock pedals as big as the toppers. It's hard to feel them under your feet. My RC-50 is still killer. Not sure what was wrong with the old plastic pedals. They have never failed and feel great. If anyone has found ones that are the right fit, post a link.
I don’t believe it’s available for these effects as it relates to the tempo (1 beat, dotted eight…etc) . The delay fx has a millisecond adjustment and I’m sure someone has created a bpm + ms conversion table somewhere for this purpose. Not as easy as it should be, though. It would be nice to just use the tempo in the same way it can be used for other time-based effects (beat scatter, auto pan, slicer).
@@1gtrman1 On the time based effects, like the delay, all you do is spin the millisecond knob all the way to the left. Eventually, it will stop saying milliseconds and start giving you note value options. Chose one of those and your delays will sync with the loop tempo.
Given the need for AC power r/t able to use DC multi-iso power, there is sufficient power to have had scribble strips. It's too bad, but I plan to use an MC-8 (once mine finally comes).
Hi 👋 I can't seem to find a way to turn off the click/tap tempo/rhythm. On the rc300 it was on the outside next to the tap. I can't seem to find it anywhere which is really odd. Surely ppl like to free loop without a click or tapping in a tempo? Please help
Hi, I set up switch 6 to advance the fx banks but when doing so for the input fx, any fx that was chosen in the previous bank does not work any longer until going back to that bank. It seems you can’t have 2 effects from one bank and two effects from another bank working at the same time for input fx at least. Is there a workaround for this. Thanks
Sadly this is expected behavior. You can only access one bank’s effects at a time. You can duplicate effects across banks and control them separately, but yes, limited to one bank at a time.
Rob… great videos! Thank you so much! I just got the RC 600 and have two questions I was wondering if you could help with: 1. When I first turned on my unit, the fourth knob below the screen was master effects reverb, But when I turn it, it just changes from modes one, two, and three. I tried customizing all four knobs by moving the master reverb to the third knob and putting master compression to the fourth knob. When I did, I could control master compression from 0 to 100, but my master reverb on the third knob still just changed the modes. Ie…I can’t apply reverb to everything such as the rhythm sounds, like I used to on my boss RC 505. 2. Do you know if it’s possible for me to queue up the next track instead of it being instant? Ie, I know I can build a three-part song, for example, on tracks one, two, and three (where one is the verse, two is the chorus, and three is the Outro). But I want to queue up those tracks rather than hit them right on time (when the chorus should start). In other words, I put my verse on track one and set it to single mode instead of multi, and then I made my chorus on track two and also set it to single mode instead of multi. But while track one’s loop is playing, if I hit track two’s play button, I was hoping that it wouldn’t instantly switch from track one to track to right then but rather start playing track two after track one’s loop is done. But every time I click track two, it instantly switches in the middle of track one’s loop. Does that make sense? Thanks so much!
I think the first thing is a known bug on the unit and is addressed in the first firmware update. Regarding the queuing I think you’re going the right direction with the single/multi, but I think you can also set each track to stop immediately or at the end of its current loop. I think you should set it to end at end of current loop in conjunction with the single-mode setting and you’ll get the effect you need.
@@bigskybob wow, thanks for the fast replies and help! Really appreciate it. I know you’re not my free tech-support :-) so you don’t have to answer unless you have time On the first point, I updated the firmware, and it solved half the problem. Now I can control the master reverb 0 to 100, but for some reason it’s not doing anything. I’m not hearing any reverb on any tracks or inputs or the drums. On the RC 505, I could really add a ton of reverb to the rhythm/drums. On the second point, I thought I was on the right track, but it’s not working. The only two options for starting track 2 are “immediate“ and “fade“… But I wish one of the options was “after the loop that is playing right now“ or something like that. (I set track 1’s stop setting to “loop” which is great, because when I hit stop, it just quit playing at the end of loop one. I just wish I could click track 2 to play or record to also switch from track one to track 2 at the end of track one loop. Anyway, like I said, you’re not my free tech-support :-) Thanks!
@@SteveGuitar my first reply was misleading/wrong. the setting isn't in the stopping action, rather one of the starting... you set your tracks to single, so when you switch between them (by starting another one) it changes to the other. If you set the track to begin playing at the beginning of the next loop (loop start setting) then you'll achieve this mini queue up of the other track at the beginning of the next measure (if set that way). Happy to help as I have time. I love these loopers and am often poking around with my own, too.
I wish certain track could be assigned certain input fx bank. So that if i play certain track, corresponding fx bank in applied to input only without affecting the playback. Is there a way to do that?
Is there any command in ctr fnc or assigns in Rc 600 to activate certain input bank on a push of a pedal? I could not find one. If there was such command life would have been not so disfunctional. I could just assign the corresponding "activate input fx bank x" command to the play track pedal and the pedal would play the track and activate corresponding input fx bank at the same time. There are only input bank on/off, and inc/dec commands. They dont help. Do you know anything about coding the system for these pedals. Is making a command to activate certain input fx bank on press of a pedal so difficult? If it can be done when using external fx pedal, can you suggest any video link on how to do that?
is it possible to assign two fx bank to two inputs and use them simultaneously. I play guitar and sing at the same time. Both my guitar input and mic inputs need fx. I can make only one fx bank active at a time which is assigned to one input; another input does not receive fx. How am i suppose to get two fx banks for two inputs at the same time
Hey, I loved this idea but pushed a little further.

I picked up some like that a few years ago.. Ebay..Metal Foot Switch Topper Effect Pedal..
Have you figured out how to sync the main tempo to input delay fx. I cannot find a way to tap tempo this to the effect. Thx.
@@bigskybob Understood. Should come in future updates
Can I turn my acoustic guitar into a bass sound with the octivate effect on this pedal.
Hi 👋
I can't seem to find a way to turn off the click/tap tempo/rhythm.
I just got the RC 600 and have two questions I was wondering if you could help with:
I meant “start mode”. It’s a setting for the upcoming track’s play setting…. Not the stop.
And we’re still talking only one measure of queue-time. You don’t have to do it on time, just nearby time wise.
@@bigskybob wow, thanks for the fast replies and help! Really appreciate it. I know you’re not my free tech-support :-) so you don’t have to answer unless you have time
On the first point, I updated the firmware, and it solved half the problem.
Anyway, like I said, you’re not my free tech-support :-)
Thanks!
Where did you get the colored button for your switches?
How am i suppose to get two fx banks for two inputs at the same time
can i make 6 rigs/patches, attach them with 6 loop tracks, and turn them on with the respective 6 loop tracks when I am looping?
Video on how to set up track 3 stop as bank toggle
Where do you get those add on knobs?
HELP !!! Almost everyone has either plastic or aluminum colored switch covers. Can't find them anywhere online. Thanx Muchly in advance.
that was confusing.
