    Who has not dreamed of being able to take off vertically on the spot? Levitation is fantasy -- or high technology: Carried by a compact, efficient machine... Thanks to modern electric motors and lightweight power sources, this is possible. How? -- I would like to show you my homemade person-lifting 25-kg-craft LEVTER in this video.

    Yes, I'm still alive. I'm going to sell the project in the present condition to anyone who is more courageous, so to say.

    Indeed , Franz Schofmann was a genius which I had the fortune of meeting in Wels.
    You did a wonderfull job !!
    Schofmann had a very good reason to use the co-axial system where minimal difference in lift between the two rotors only affected the altitude.
    Slight difference in lift between the two rotors in your system will cause a balance problem.
    Consider changing your concept to the Schofmann concept and you'll fly in no time.
    Again , well done !!

      Thank you!
      Yes, that's true. I also talked to Franz Schöfmann on the phone in May 2021. He encouraged me to improve the sensitivity and characteristics of the controls to maybe overcome that.

    I've been looking up small electric personal helicopters for a while and yours is really promising. You might want to add software thrust vectoring like the one Tom Stanton did.

  • @leemnav

    Make yourself a Schofmann tripod frame and mount the Lyvter tube on it , it's a very simple job to do.
    If you need any help give me a sign and I'll see what I can do for you.
    Again , nice work and you're more than half way cause you already have proven that you have enough lift !!

    I guess what you want is is variable pitch propellers controlled independently, but then the machine starts getting complex and heavy and the simplicity is lost, Schoffman went electric on his last machine.

    you need a canti-Lever setup like a paraglider, and you can use a pixhawk4 to compensate, Thats whats used in the Jetson and the Vcopter

    Es muy bueno el intento solo creo que no tienes posibilidad de controlar el vuelo te falto poder controlar la dirección del los rotores pero esta increible

    • @vNeumann84
      @vNeumann84  2 года назад

      Oh, I guess you don't have to be able to tilt the rotors individually. It's like Franz Schofmann's coaxial aircraft. You steer through a combination of weight shifting and tilting of the beam on which the motors sit. However, currently I'm not brave enough to try... ;-)

  • @Ben-Dixey
    @Ben-Dixey 2 года назад +2

    Well done for building this, great achievement. Have you used a flight controller? Tom Stanton built an rc bicopter same fixed pitch principle and it flew quite well in the end.

    • @vNeumann84
      @vNeumann84  2 года назад

      Thank you! I don't use a flight controller, it's only controlled by tilting forward and backwards, as well as weight shift and manual differential rpm control for sideward movements and yaw.

    • @Ben-Dixey
      @Ben-Dixey 2 года назад +1

      What are your thoughts on the stability without electronic assistance? The bicopter configuration should be more efficient than the coaxial design of Franz schoffman but stability might be the issue. Have you done more testing ? I'm at the same stage with a coaxial helicopter and I'm teaching myself to fly it at the moment.

    • @vNeumann84
      @vNeumann84  2 года назад +1

      Yes, roll stability is likely an issue. To be honest, with regard to further testing, I look out for someone who is already more experiencened with such kind of machines and flight tests - just like Franz Schofmann, because I'm a bit too cautious.

    • @Ben-Dixey
      @Ben-Dixey 2 года назад +1

      Well it's understandable that your cautious. It's a daunting thing to be playing with. Hope you find a way to move forward with it.

    For some reason to this day I have yet to find a smart safe and simple personal helicopter one can purchase or build cost effectively. And by smart I don't mean one with a computer chip to assist stability or with special control algorithms. There is so much wrong going on in this heli of this viddeo that is counter acting the control instead of assisting. This is the result of builds when you do not know anything about aerodynamics or mechanics. Bi-copter even with assist computers are far less effective and safe in a full man carrying form, than a simple counter-rotating weight shift control helicopter.
