Sorry for your loss it sucks like loosing a close family heck love my dogs 🐾 more than do most people wish that's one thing the good Lord would've done a little different was to have man's best friend stick around a few more yrs longer cause last one I lost I cried like a baby 🐈 🐕🦺 🦮 🐩 🐕 🐈⬛ 🐾 🫶🏽 🤟🏽 🙏🏽 prayers to you may god help to give u piece an comfort in this difficult time ❤️🤍💙
The homestead has come a long way Brian, looks fantastic, you've put in labor if love, it's coming full circle. I love love seeing the snow, it was time, i dig the snow, time to nest up, yet there is always wood to be split and other chores etc., boy i had wells of tears seeing your beautiful girl at the end, i miss your tent camping days with her, she lived for that, you both did. Blessings and to making new memories with sweet Meadow ❤.
Thank you for such kind words, I miss Sierra tremendously and would give anything to have one more day with her in the Big Tent during a snowstorm. She always loved our time winter camping, it's going to be hard to go out this winter without her.
Just saw your channel for the first time. My favorite pizza is extra mushrooms and extra spinach. Then garlic dip. Your dog is so beautiful. You can tell he is loved. You and your doggie stay warm. I live in Central Virginia. Last winter, we had one day with a few flurries. I miss snow!
I appreciate the person you are so much Brian. I love the words you use towards your dogs. I see you Brian . You and 253k people would be friends if we all knew each other
Thank you, it's been so hard without Sierra by my side but I have to look back and be thankful we got to spend such a unique life together. I had so much fun with Sierra, and now it's Meadow's turn to revel in our travels. She's a good puppy and I'm confident she'll grow up to be an excellent companion just like Sierra was. It would be awesome if I was able to get together with everyone who follows the channel! I'm certain we'd all be good friends. I'm so fortunate to have so many great people following along with our adventures.
@OffGridBackcountryAdventures I feel they are different and Meadow will be the amazing dog you allow her to be on her own. Just as you've done with Sierra and probably any dog you've ever owned
Much love Brian!!! My 11.5 yr-old Skittles behaves like your sweet Meadow, much older but still gives it her all😂 Meadow is perfect for you, just as Skittles has been perfect for me. Blessings my friend & his sweet pup. Your channel is the best!! Thank you for sharing your adventures
Thank you for such an awesome comment! I really enjoying sharing our experiences out here, I feel very fortunate to have so many wonderful people tune in to the channel.
I lost my pup of 14 n half years few months ago.. it’s honestly the worst grieving I’ve done.. he was my first pup. I still have my girl which helps but I still shed tears.. 💔 sorry you lost you beautiful pup.
Thank you for always being so supportive, I am truly blessed to have wonderful individuals such as yourself along with me on this wild ride. I love sharing adventures with my furry best friends, makes life that much sweeter!
TY for sharing. I have a new name for your channel. "A boy and his fort". The joy that you have reminds me of boys building a fort. I am loving it. For that breakfast, toss in some onions and Rotel for your potatoes. Yum!
Hello Brian , so "Great" to see You and" Sweet Meadow " .❤❤ pray that YAS are doing well ....Looks Beautiful there as always .😊 God Bless You from Tucson !
Thanks for sharing. I love seeing the views on your property. The snow falling or the rain coming down. You have really put in the work on your place. Looks nice. I don't know what it is, if its the contrast between the red clay and the green trees, but it almost seems like the "green " there is greener...🤔 Anyhow, y'all stay safe and I hope that you have a good weekend.
Thank you for tuning in! I love sharing my experiences and am glad it's a good escape. The world is definitely a bit unhinged at the moment so it's awesome to hear my videos provide a bit of solace.
I just watched your video, I'm in Florida but originally from Hawaii. I don't get to see any snow. Your title, "First Snow of the Season," got me, and was suggested on RUclips. Anyway, I really enjoyed it! It was so calming and peaceful. I have to say, your furbaby is so lucky! She loves being able to run freely-it's so cool to see! When you showed a previous furbaby at the end of your video, I must admit it made me teary-eyed. It's devastating when we lose a part of our family. They love us unconditionally! Your homestead setup is great! I love using cast iron, the only way to cook! Just subbed to your channel.
Hi Brian and Meadow. Wow 👀 im jealous 😊 the snow ❄️ was beautiful . I love cold weather. I pray 🙏 southeast Georgia will get some snow this year. Meadow was having a great time running around playing in the snow ❄️ flakes and the cooler temperatures. I hope yall enjoy the rest of your weekend. ❤❤
Wow love the place where it’s located . You need to invest in a small axe to split wood and splinter wood to start a fire. You need to get winterized striping for the door and insolation under the trailor with stray square bales stake 2 or 3 high around the trailer . And heater lamps to keep the pipes from freezing. We use charcoal bricks about 6 to 8 to clean our stove pipes and start the fire it works. Its a beautiful scenery and snow flakes coming down peace and quite.
Have you considered making a sand battery for your stove? I made one for a friend and a similar set up as yours out of wire. I just formed it around the stove and then lined it with two layers of aluminum window screen, and then filled it with sand and small rocks. She runs the stove in the afternoon and early evening the heat gets stored in this gigantic pile of sand and will radiate it for hours after the stove goes out
Good video. Thank you. One suggestion when chopping wood. Since you have small chunks for your stove, grab a smaller old motorcycle tire. Put the juniper inside the tire ring on the ground and then chop all the pieces at once. You will save your hand from hitting it with the axe, save your back and make life easier. Also, put a gravel base below the wood so the wood doesn’t pound down into the ground and you loose force. I learned these tips years ago and wish I found them sooner. Check them out on RUclips. And, if you miss, the axe handle hits the rubber tire and not down into the ground. If you use a car tire, just the same but taller chunks
Always good grub to warm the inside when the snow is on it's way in 👍, Yes it comes then goes in your area so it gives you a little break :) Med Nov now we are starting to cool off at night -16c this morning & a couple inches on the ground we know where it goes from there lol, Take care stay warm"
Got a new machete yesterday. 32" Gerber. Went rattlesnake hunting today and I saw one but he ran. never did turn to fight. he was a good sized one too. have to settle for raw red meat for dinner tonight. with lemon juice and garlic. yummmmm
I noticed you didn't have any skirts on the bottom of your trailer that will help to keep the cold out on the floor.thats really nice view.Take care stay warm.
use a thick piece of clear plastic like they use on a greenhouse. attach it to the your camper and cut it about two feet longer than needed then weigh that part down with logs or rocks. did camper living following my husband all over the country. this method not only kept the wind out from under the camper but when the sun was out it passively heated the undercarriage. easy to put on and take off once done. some lattice over it to stabilize it and look pretty.
That looks excellent. You and your buddy should get a couple of GMRS radios for when weather really comes in. You definitely have good line of site for reception. Great communication if cell towers have issues.
I am sorry to hear about your dog's passing 😞 they so become a part of your family when you live alone. Praying you find another dog though it will never replace your girl at least she or he will be a great companion for you
I would start by putting some weather strip under my door. Then I wouldn't make kindling out of all my fire wood. The smaller the wood the faster it burns up. Go get you some remnant carpet or end roll cut offs put a couple of layers down in the winter.
You should build a snow/ water catchment tank or even better have medium steel building built for you to house a catchment tank and maybe a battery bank for your solar setup
Autumn ❄️❄️Is Awesome!! Enjoy, a fire, Grubb, and a hottub , Lifes full brother. The funny girl keeps you on yur toes😋😂😋🤣, a new chapter. Be blessed🙏🙏. Ya it frosted the last few nites, 27 degrees already. I tilted my Solar today, Wow what a difference, 6 more Amps. being farther North, i built in 60 degrees. 👍👍😎🤙🤙
This is the first vid of yours I’ve seen so I don’t know your budgets or background yet. For that cold floor you mentioned, thermosoft makes an under carpet radiant floor heat mat that is very efficient yet very amazing for warming a place up. Of course a cheaper option is an electric blanket
You should have those 4 hours burned blocks that they sale it in the stores to use it at night , and you don’t have to worry about being cold or put more wood into the stove burner.
howdy neighbor. getting cold already. pro tip: and doesn't really matter cause your flue pipes out side. but you got it backwards. you need to put the bottom pipe inside as you build up. luv what you've done with the place. keep up the good work. 😄🥶💯
am putting the gas/elec refrigerator and gas stove out of my wrecked camper into Suki's kitchen. that will give us an extra kitchen for the next emergency. we did pretty good this time. had 16 familes come-brought 8 campers ready to hook up. Had 18 generators so we powered 2 4 br houses, Suki's kitchen with 2 sleeping lofts and the campers. other than not having our own beds for the most part, the shakedown run was a good onei think. Everyone emptied out their freezers and brought them out to ours and we cooked out every night. the kids played in the woods and collected wood for the ever burning fire that was just for looks except smores-every night. we had water, a/c, hot showers, laundry facilities, tv but no tv output for 2 weeks as the towers had been knocked down and the radio stations too so we watched dvds, and tried to rest. we all went home every day-just the men at first then families bringing things they wanted at the settlement. the hurricane had spun over our houses for hours. most lost a lot more than we personally did (we have a Holy Infant of Prague statue in our house) and some are still at the settlement as they have nowhere else to go. our power came back on in a little over a week and that made more room for the others. power came back to the settlement just over a week ago. we are working together to help each other. we came out alive from one of the worst hurricanes in history and had no preventive measures in place-either from our county gov or personally. I am grateful it was not worse. Almost not dreading having to refugee out next time.
First time here, beautiful country and doggo. A suggestion, you may want to put some metal flashing between your titanium stove pipe and the wood roof just to be extra safe. :-)

Even when she was sick Sierra was such a happy go lucky dog !
Installing some skirting will help keeping your floor from being so cold.especially
on the north side
I was just about to post the same comment. It makes a huge difference on the temps inside your camper.
Meadow's look when she was inside and how she raised her head when you asked if she wanted to outside... I love her personality!!
I said goodbye to my dog of nearly 16 years 2 weeks ago. Seeing the clips of Sierra was both heartwarming and heartbreaking. ❤🩹🐕🦺❤
My Jack Russell lived till she was nearly 19,bless all our dogs who have gone over the rainbow bridge ❤

I just love this dogs personality, I would be out there egging her on!
I'd be in heaven living your way.
Same!

SIERRA WAS AN ANGEL , MISS YOU
She was such a fun companion!
I love this time of year for you ❤️
Me too, this is my favorite season! Looking forward to sharing many more snow adventures this winter. :)
I remember those days back in the tent. Good and bad times.

Meadow is a doll really enjoying her snowy day lol - Thanks for sharing!!
Good Brian and meadow ☕🍩❄️
My frenchie watched all of Sierra'a video. I think Meadow talking to you got his attention. My old husky did that❤ Beautiful snowflakes!

I agree, I tihnk the red clay really brings out the green in my pine and juniper trees. I love this landscape when it's hit with a bit of moisture!
Brian your content is such a great escape,I will never get to Northern AZ. but Im right there thanks to you.

Meadow is a beauty. Breakfast looked great.
I love you Sierra! 🧡🧡🧡
Flagstaff got some yesterday, about an inch it looked like
😂❤ Love when animals talk to you. My new cat is vocal. She’s fun. Snow shots were awesome. ❤❤
You need to use a splitting stump! Something a little below knee height, so you won’t have to bend over with the ax all the time!
I Love you sweet sierra ❤❤❤🐕💋
Thank you Zoi, you've always been so kind to Sierra and me. I just wanted to say thank you for being such a positive person. :)

I love Meadow's little spot where she sits contemplating mischief ❤🐶🐕
Skirting around the camper to keep the wind from blowing under the camper will help
I love this time was there it’s beautiful!
So jealous! India summer back in GA after a tease of fall and I’m sure it’s here to stay. Super setup, vide, and scenery! Cheers

Alway outstanding! Your set-up is fantastic 👏, very happy for you both!🎉😊
what would help is if you pick up several bales of hay and jam them under your trailer. It will help with the cold coming up from the floor.
Absolutely beautiful! I envy you two!😉
Best wishes from a 71-yr-old Texas hippie!
Northern Arizona seems the coolest place to be without getting too cold it seems. I could not take Southern Arizona accept for winter myself.
Always a scramble when weather comes.Nothing like heating blanket.Nice setup
That breakfast looked incredible. Enjoy the cold weather!!
It was delicious!!
Placing hay bales underneath your camper and wrapping a tarp around it will greatly help with keeping it insulated.
That looks excellent. You and your buddy should get a couple of GMRS radios for when weather really comes in. You definitely have good line of site for reception. Great communication if cell towers have issues.
You could use thick plastic underneath camper then, around skirt of camper, finally use black plastic around bottom. My help insulated more.
love this.....more than i need!.....so cool! im in FLA.....hot hot hot here to so when it gets cooler its perfect!
Beautiful video. A man and his pup.
Beautiful with the snow
Get a baking sheet pan to put in front of your stove door on the floor. Catching the coals that fall out.
Definitely check into putting some skirting around the base of the camper. That alone would dramatically improve the floor temperature. 😊
11:10 If your crusts burn, try a cast iron trivet in the bottom of your skillet. It creates a convection-type environment.
I am sorry to hear about your dog's passing 😞 they so become a part of your family when you live alone. Praying you find another dog though it will never replace your girl at least she or he will be a great companion for you

Gotta love the Fiskars lineup of wood splitting tools. Lightweight and durable. Good content
Have you ever thought of building an earthen oven/ pizza oven? That way you can heat things a little differently or indirectly?
I enjoy your videos and all you have accomplished. You be safe. Sharon
You should build a snow/ water catchment tank or even better have medium steel building built for you to house a catchment tank and maybe a battery bank for your solar setup
Should put a skirting around you trailer. That would help significantly with the cold floor.
Autumn ❄️❄️Is Awesome!! Enjoy, a fire, Grubb, and a hottub , Lifes full brother. The funny girl keeps you on yur toes😋😂😋🤣, a new chapter. Be blessed🙏🙏. Amazing home.
Meadow completes you ❤
And Sierra watches over you both.
You should have those 4 hours burned blocks that they sale it in the stores to use it at night , and you don’t have to worry about being cold or put more wood into the stove burner.
I’m so sorry for your loss ❤️
We are in Hesperus Colorado - same weather hit us today.

Good snow in Flag yesterday and another one this evening

am putting the gas/elec refrigerator and gas stove out of my wrecked camper into Suki's kitchen. that will give us an extra kitchen for the next emergency. we did pretty good this time. had 16 familes come-brought 8 campers ready to hook up. I am grateful it was not worse. Almost not dreading having to refugee out next time.
Sorry for your loss, I loss my dog like 3 yrs ago to cancer.
I'm so sorry to hear that, canine cancer is so difficult to witness. These sweet souls deserve better.
Lucky... we haven't had snow yet in the metro area just the mountains
First time here, beautiful country and doggo. A suggestion, you may want to put some metal flashing between your titanium stove pipe and the wood roof just to be extra safe. :-)
You are setup really nice. I've been thinking about putting a wood stove in my trailer. I've been a little worried about it. Looks like you are going pretty good with it tho. I'm off grid and right now my heat is propane
Hi Meadow. Hi Sierra in heaven.
Snow is water you can catch for infiltration ✌️👏
❤❤Beautiful Video 😊
Always nice and comfy cozy video. :) Meadow likes to chew on wood LOL :)
Definitely some kind of protection around your camper would help keep the place warmer
I just saw a comment that your dog is a girl and her name is Meadow. Hello, Meadow. Snuggle up with Dad and stay warm.
I have heated floors in mine but it is for the artic
I would drag a bunch of trees under your porch so you can just step out the door and cut them and keep them dry. Time for a big wood cutting day to stock up for the winter.
How's your house plans coming along?
